Create the perfect backyard oasis at The Home and Garden Expo!

I am burning the midnight oil, so to speak, tonight to make sure I have shown off all of the amazing creations available at the The Home and Garden Expo, which ends in just over 24 hours!  You have until midnight tomorrow to head over to this fantastic event, where you can feel good about doing a little home and garden shopping because with every purchase of donation items you are giving to the American Cancer Society!  What could be a better reason?  The Expo has officially raised almost 4 million Linden and they are hoping to make that incredible mark by the end of the expo, so hit those kiosks while out shopping and get us to that final goal.  I have spent evening creating a beautiful background oasis, with every piece, other than a couple trees coming from The Home and Garden Expo.  I think it's important to be able to relax when at home, whether in your favorite corner in your home, or if you are like me, I love being outdoors, whether in Second Life or in real life, meaning anywhere I reside you will find a hidden oasis.

Potomac Signature Homes has several incredible releases for the event including the Brookside Home, not pictured, that comes with a curving, stone path which accompanied The Wishing Well release, also from Potomac, quite well.  I love trees, and Dixie Dandelion has made my heart quite happy with their Spring Tree Grouping release for the event that come with and without daisies; and they made the perfect backdrop for my oasis.  Over in the gacha area at The Home and Garden Expo you will find a gacha from Enigma Designs for their Seasons Tree release, with the RARE having all the seasons.  Each one is gorgeous in its own right, so make sure to stop by if you are looking for great landscaping pieces for your home or photo sim.  What backyard oasis would be complete without a sparkling pool and deck?

Dragons are Too Seldom, Inc., otherwise known as DATSI Mesh has some amazing releases at the event bu I have fallen in love with this pool with deck, hot tub and chair, leaving enough room to add your own patio decor items as well.  DATSI has several pool chairs, inflatable toys and chairs to accompany your pool, and an inflatable kiddy pool too, making this the penultimate family backyard playground!  And if you are planning on doing any entertaining, then check out the magnificent releases from beYou World, who also happen to be a sponsor of The Home and Garden Expo.

Cafe du Bon Matin - Kaya's Ray of Sunshine @ The Home and Garden Expo

Yesterday there was a wonderful discussion at the Prim Perfect Talks for The Home and Garden Expo,  in regards to relationships between bloggers and creators.  As well as understanding requirements and getting to really hear what some creators, especially build designers, want to see from a blog post.  After some thought I decided to take the challenge and see what I could do with the fantastic Cafe du Bon Matin release from Kaya's Ray of Sunshine, an exclusive to The Home and Garden Expo.

If you happen to be a sim designer or you like to create complex scenes on your home sim then do yourself a favor and check out the Cafe du Bon Matin.  The bottom floor is a quaint cafe fully decorated as is the apartment upstairs as well as flower arrangements for the balcony.  The tables come in black and white, with matching chairs that come in three different coordinating patterns.  The entire build is well designed and perfectly appointed with a very low prim count, meaning you can add more decor pieces to make the space your own.  Every where you look there are special details sure to delight the senses, so make sure to head over to the event today, as the doors close tomorrow!  

To complete the scene I added the Spring Trees Grouping with and without Daisies from Dixie Dandelion, as well as the Chimenea and Whirligig, giving it a bit of a Springlike feel.  I enjoyed this post more than I expected, and loved being able to feature an entire build, inside and out, for my post!

The cat and I gravitate to the same room in the Winter

Winter comes a bit earlier and Spring a bit later here in the mountains of Arizona and when the humidity rises, I am a bit pathetic now and I get freezing cold, which means I have a tendency to gravitate towards the kitchen.  If you are an avid reader like I am, then your kitchen is probably full of cookbooks as well as a few paperbacks here and there, because there is no better spot than an oven-warmed kitchen to sit and read while you bake or cook.  It is a perfect place to unplug and unwind, taking a little time for yourself.  Everyone who knows me well knows I love to cook and I would DIE for this new kitchen set up of mine in Second Life.  If you have been looking to add a kitchen to your home or to add a few new goodies, then check out the new releases from unKindness, Apple Fall, Chic Buildings and Dixie Dandelion!

Relay for Life - Home and Garden Expo - Hope is now OPEN!

The Relay for Life Home and Garden Expo opened it's doors this morning and I know you are just dying to get over and see all of the amazing items offered up from some of your favorite home and garden designers.  Each creator has provided at least two exclusive donation items with all proceeds going to charity, and this round there is a gacha area where 50% of all profits go straight to the American Cancer Society, I don't think you can find a better reason to get out shopping on the grid!

As we start to welcome in the Spring in the Northern Hemisphere we are looking outside again which means everyone is looking for fresh decorations for the outdoor spaces.  This contemporary and stylish patio set from M.Law, is one of the donation items for the event, which means you get a great piece for an amazing price, only 249L, and you can feel good about it too since 100% of your purchase goes to the American Cancer Society.  The Saanich Deck comes with the surrounding flowers, umbrella, chairs, flowers, basket, wine, books and rug all wonderfully detailed in colors sure to enhance any outdoor setting on your land.  

Adding to the scene I dropped in one of Lunar Seasonal Design's exclusives, the Animated Bird House, menu driven with tons of choices for colors and trust me there is something very peaceful about the birds flitting about the feeder.  Just make sure you turn it on via the touch menu and give it a few for the birds to start their little dance.  Completing the scene are the gorgeous new trees from Dixie Dandelion available at the event as well.  The Spring Tree Grouping is only 150L for the event, but it is not one of their two donation items, I just think they are lovely and truly completed this scene.  

Do yourself a favor and head by the event which covers 10 sims, with every item featured here only available on Hope 6.  Each landing point features an easy to use teleport board, or you can simply take a stroll through the lushly decorated sims and peruse all the gorgeous items at the Relay for Life, Home and Garden Expo!
