Create the perfect backyard oasis at The Home and Garden Expo!

I am burning the midnight oil, so to speak, tonight to make sure I have shown off all of the amazing creations available at the The Home and Garden Expo, which ends in just over 24 hours!  You have until midnight tomorrow to head over to this fantastic event, where you can feel good about doing a little home and garden shopping because with every purchase of donation items you are giving to the American Cancer Society!  What could be a better reason?  The Expo has officially raised almost 4 million Linden and they are hoping to make that incredible mark by the end of the expo, so hit those kiosks while out shopping and get us to that final goal.  I have spent evening creating a beautiful background oasis, with every piece, other than a couple trees coming from The Home and Garden Expo.  I think it's important to be able to relax when at home, whether in your favorite corner in your home, or if you are like me, I love being outdoors, whether in Second Life or in real life, meaning anywhere I reside you will find a hidden oasis.

Potomac Signature Homes has several incredible releases for the event including the Brookside Home, not pictured, that comes with a curving, stone path which accompanied The Wishing Well release, also from Potomac, quite well.  I love trees, and Dixie Dandelion has made my heart quite happy with their Spring Tree Grouping release for the event that come with and without daisies; and they made the perfect backdrop for my oasis.  Over in the gacha area at The Home and Garden Expo you will find a gacha from Enigma Designs for their Seasons Tree release, with the RARE having all the seasons.  Each one is gorgeous in its own right, so make sure to stop by if you are looking for great landscaping pieces for your home or photo sim.  What backyard oasis would be complete without a sparkling pool and deck?

Dragons are Too Seldom, Inc., otherwise known as DATSI Mesh has some amazing releases at the event bu I have fallen in love with this pool with deck, hot tub and chair, leaving enough room to add your own patio decor items as well.  DATSI has several pool chairs, inflatable toys and chairs to accompany your pool, and an inflatable kiddy pool too, making this the penultimate family backyard playground!  And if you are planning on doing any entertaining, then check out the magnificent releases from beYou World, who also happen to be a sponsor of The Home and Garden Expo.

Cafe du Bon Matin - Kaya's Ray of Sunshine @ The Home and Garden Expo

Yesterday there was a wonderful discussion at the Prim Perfect Talks for The Home and Garden Expo,  in regards to relationships between bloggers and creators.  As well as understanding requirements and getting to really hear what some creators, especially build designers, want to see from a blog post.  After some thought I decided to take the challenge and see what I could do with the fantastic Cafe du Bon Matin release from Kaya's Ray of Sunshine, an exclusive to The Home and Garden Expo.

If you happen to be a sim designer or you like to create complex scenes on your home sim then do yourself a favor and check out the Cafe du Bon Matin.  The bottom floor is a quaint cafe fully decorated as is the apartment upstairs as well as flower arrangements for the balcony.  The tables come in black and white, with matching chairs that come in three different coordinating patterns.  The entire build is well designed and perfectly appointed with a very low prim count, meaning you can add more decor pieces to make the space your own.  Every where you look there are special details sure to delight the senses, so make sure to head over to the event today, as the doors close tomorrow!  

To complete the scene I added the Spring Trees Grouping with and without Daisies from Dixie Dandelion, as well as the Chimenea and Whirligig, giving it a bit of a Springlike feel.  I enjoyed this post more than I expected, and loved being able to feature an entire build, inside and out, for my post!

I love dawn through my kitchen windows

I don't know about all of you, but I see dawn more times during the week than I would like, but the way the first rays dance through the windows into my kitchen always seems to take the edge off of the hour.  There is something magical in those first few moments as the sun peeks her head over the horizon to lightly strum her fingers across the landscape.  The world starts to stir as the warm rays caress the land and all those who live there.  It is the one peaceful moment I have in a day, so no matter how much I might complain, I do truly treasure those first few moment as dawn dances through my kitchen windows.

The Relay for Life Home and Garden Expo for 2016 has almost come to an end which means you have very little time left to head over and wander around all the amazing exhibits from some of the grids most amazing home and garden creators!  I will be bringing you several posts in the next two days as the event comes to a close just to give you all the incentive in the world to head over and take the chance to give a little back!  Every exhibitor has created at least two 100% donation items for the event meaning you get the chance to give a bit to a wonderful cause as well as pick up some great pieces, like the ones featured here tonight!  Do yourself a favor and check out all the wonderful posts listed on the website and stayed tuned for all the closing events, and make sure to join us for the Lantern release everyday at 4pm SLT!  Thank you for reading and happy shopping!

Relay for Life - Home and Garden Expo - Hope is now OPEN!

The Relay for Life Home and Garden Expo opened it's doors this morning and I know you are just dying to get over and see all of the amazing items offered up from some of your favorite home and garden designers.  Each creator has provided at least two exclusive donation items with all proceeds going to charity, and this round there is a gacha area where 50% of all profits go straight to the American Cancer Society, I don't think you can find a better reason to get out shopping on the grid!

As we start to welcome in the Spring in the Northern Hemisphere we are looking outside again which means everyone is looking for fresh decorations for the outdoor spaces.  This contemporary and stylish patio set from M.Law, is one of the donation items for the event, which means you get a great piece for an amazing price, only 249L, and you can feel good about it too since 100% of your purchase goes to the American Cancer Society.  The Saanich Deck comes with the surrounding flowers, umbrella, chairs, flowers, basket, wine, books and rug all wonderfully detailed in colors sure to enhance any outdoor setting on your land.  

Adding to the scene I dropped in one of Lunar Seasonal Design's exclusives, the Animated Bird House, menu driven with tons of choices for colors and trust me there is something very peaceful about the birds flitting about the feeder.  Just make sure you turn it on via the touch menu and give it a few for the birds to start their little dance.  Completing the scene are the gorgeous new trees from Dixie Dandelion available at the event as well.  The Spring Tree Grouping is only 150L for the event, but it is not one of their two donation items, I just think they are lovely and truly completed this scene.  

Do yourself a favor and head by the event which covers 10 sims, with every item featured here only available on Hope 6.  Each landing point features an easy to use teleport board, or you can simply take a stroll through the lushly decorated sims and peruse all the gorgeous items at the Relay for Life, Home and Garden Expo!

The Snow Queen's vision of time

As all of my readers know, I love to have a reason to play dress up and put on a new character for a bit and today is no exception!  I was delighted when I opened my blogger box from TFF for the SL 2015 Christmas Expo, a Relay for Life production and saw this wonderful ensemble and just HAD to share it with you all as well as give you a teaser for January from Lone Wolf Studio!

The days are slipping away quite quickly and before we know it Christmas will be upon us.  If you are like me decorating the house for the Holidays is a chore and sometimes it ends up being Christmas Eve before there is a tree up, and that's only if we are going to be staying in town.  If my son and I will be away, like this year, I can promise you that there will be no tree up in my home, or decorations.  I actually hate taking them down so much that I have been known to leave them up for far too long, and well, before I get called out by my friends, the tree was left up for 16 months, once upon a time.  This is how much I truly hate putting up and taking down decorations.  However, the hassle is far less on SL and I have been a decorating fool!!!  But who wouldn't be with all the goodies from current events on the grid?!  If you haven't heard, the 2015 Holiday Expo, A Frozen Christmas, a Relay for Life production opened yesterday with 4 sims to wander through and literally 100's of goodies to get your hands on, all for a wonderful cause!  Park Place has three releases for the event, with two of them featured below.

Coffee and Scrabble in the early morn after dreams of Spring

Woke to another morning of the temps in single digits here in the mountains of Arizona I realized I had been dreaming of Cherry and Orange Blossoms, the buzz of the bees and the flowers of Spring.  I think I must have gotten a bit chilled last night and wanted the warmth of the Sun.  I love the Winter, so that isn't really like me, I am usually dreaming of hot cocoa, family, blankets, cuddles and fireplaces, but my brain had other thoughts last night so as the Sun rose this morning I grabbed a cup of coffee and dove straight into creating a post with goodies from the 2015 Holiday Expo - a Relay for Life production, which happens to start TODAY; and a gorgeous new nail release from DaneMarkZ.

The holidays have arrived at Chez Samsara

I can't believe we only have 23 days left until Christmas, and for those who celebrate Hanukkah the Menorahs are already unpacked and everyone is all excited for the start of the Holiday on the 6th.  This past year has flown by filled with surprises, joy, pain, heartbreak and above all else, learning.  With the adjustments I have had to make with my back and neck finally deciding they were done trying to combat the damage caused all those years ago, I have learned I am capable of much more than I ever dreamed.  I am a very introverted extrovert, which means I know a lot of people, and chat here and there, but for the most part who I am, and what I am about usually stays well hidden, except to a very exclusive group of people.  Revealing my pains and sorrow, happiness and accomplishments to the world at large was something that terrified me when I began blogging and I stuck just to the fashion; at least for a little while.  Over the months I found my voice, a place to share my thoughts, stories and musings, as I like to call them, and for the first time in a long time my confidence level began to rise and I learned I was something more than I thought, more than I believed.  When push comes to shove and you have no choice but to change, to adapt, you learn a lot about yourself and find you are as strong as the people around you have been saying for years now, trust me I did and I was pleasantly surprised to find out everyone else was right!  I am a fighter, a survivor and out of adversity comes a more confidant woman as I head into the holidays this year with my family.  If you have been struggling to find a purpose or meaning, try putting pen to paper, or keyboard to screen, and see what you can discover about yourself, after all it is the best way to commune with your soul, and there is no better time of year to open a new door to your future than NOW!

As promised, more items to show you from Relay for Life.  I have fallen in love with this simple, yet stunning dress from ArisAris.  It comes with appliers, as seen here in my Lolas, for those of us who like our curves!  The daring slit on the side of this dress shows off the gams, yet cuts in nicely so you aren't flashing the world your pink parts!

Fashion For Life Boho Style

After weeks of internet issues, and days of none at all, I had to jump on and make sure that everyone has gone and done some shopping, and contributed to a good cause!  The Fashion For Life, Relay for Life event is still going on now, and I was absolutely amazed at everything available.  From discounts, to gachas, to exclusives; with at least 15% of the proceeds being donated to the American Cancer Society. I went by and picked up a few things last week when my net wasn't spitting and sputtering and I have been excited to share them with you!  This is the first in a series of posts that will feature content available at FFL while the doors are still open!

Stars Fashion has a variety of outfits up for sale at the event, and the majority of them include Slink shoes and jewelry!  Which of course, is a wonderful surprise!  This is a top and skirt combo, which means you can't wear them with anything else but, with as well as this skirt and top go together, I don't see a need!  The fit is perfect, however, the alpha is cut very precisely, which means, you do need a pair of panties to cover those pink parts!  Matched up with some of my favorite finds from last months events and from The Arcade, this is a perfect summer outfit, and I actually don't have any buyers remorse since I know my Linden were well spent, for a worthy cause!  Hurry on over before you lose out on some fantastic pieces for a great cause!

Point Break @ The Thrift Shop

In case you have been hiding under a rock and didn't know...the newest round of The Thrift Shop opened today at noon!  The event hosts over 150 designers, 300 gachas and everything is 50% off from some of your favorite creators!  Heathenesque and 7mad;Ravens have again come up with unique and creative goodies for you! 

This adorable top and short combination comes to you from Heathesque and both are HUD driven , offering several different outfits in one!  I loved this "Shark Bait" top and thought I would pair it with the pale, black bleached shorts for this post.  And yes, that is sand you see on my thighs and feet, a wonderful edition to this outfit from 7mad!  It comes with appliers for hands and feet, along with leg and body tattoos.  I honestly felt like I had spent a day at the beach in this outfit!

I used a variety of poses in this post from PosESioN, but the above pose is from a very little known event called The Instruments, in the set Nails II, featured there now.  Look how perfectly that bracelet is done!  The rest of my accessories are listed below and come from other events happening now around the grid! 

Now I will be doing a few posts featuring the Relay for Life/Fashion for Life event, but this purse from Pure Poison needed to be shown as fast as possible!  I absolutely love this design, and though you really can't see them, there are perfect flowers on the other side of the bag.  Do yourself a favor and run to the SIM they are sponsoring at the event and grab yours now! 

If you are looking for a wonderful beach and tropical island destination, take a trip on over to the Goodnight Photography Berlengas island.  Pan way out with your camera when you arrive so you can see all of the lovely, secluded spots to take pictures or to relax and chat with friends, or cuddle up with that special someone.  Just spend some time strolling around the grounds and find your perfect retreat.  I know I did!
