The peaceful tranquility of Dawn

If you like to sleep late then you probably miss out on one of the most spectacular times of day in my opinion, especially in the Fall.  The frost hangs heavy on what remains of the leaves on the trees and as the Sun edges over the horizon steam rises as the beams instantly bring life to the still surroundings.  The snow has melted down here in town, but the mountains continue to be blanketed in white.  This morning as the Sun danced with its rainbow of colors I had a perfect moment of peace as I stood with my cup of coffee and let the rays warm me as they did my surroundings.  Do yourself a favor and get up early sometime, before the bitter chill of Winter sets in and enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the Dawn.

If you haven't made it to Sad November yet you don't have much time, literally only a few hours before the doors will close and the vendors will be taken down which means you will miss out on these amazing lipsticks from Alaskametro!  The Angel set comes for your favorite mesh heads as well as Standard Layers as I am wearing here.  After today check the MP as Alaskametro is only available on the MP or at events!  

On9 closes in one week which means you don't have much time to head on over and pick up this GORGEOUS new ensemble from AnaMarkova Designs.  Kendra comes in a variety of colors perfect for the Fall with boots to match!  I am wearing the Chocolate version which I just adore, but it also comes in Mustard and Onyx.  I just had to take some pics in this wonderful new Gazebo from unKindness only available at Tres Chic, which is open until December, but these Gazebos go with Garden Pathways at the LTD Event so hurry and match them up!  The 4 pack of Gazebos can be used by themselves for a unique decorating touch or with the pathways for a more detailed and enchanting design!  I am off to a Doc appointment this morning so forgive me for well posting and running, but it is going to be one of those days!

Always remember to cherish the little things

This week is very hard for me as the humans prepare for the passing of the 12 year old Pitbull who has filled my life with more joy and laughs than I could have ever imagined.  As we make his last few days as comfortable for him as possible I have been thinking a lot about the moments we have shared over these years and I was reminded of how important they can be.  Looking through the memories I see how many of our important family moments have included the dogs, and most often my very smiley, quite intrusive, loving Pitty.  He has been there to cuddle during the loneliest of nights; slept next to my son through the worst illnesses and broken bones and has offered a smile to everyone he has ever met.  Though of course, if you don't know the Pitty smile you think you are about to be eaten!  Which of course always made me laugh and mine wasn't the only heart he warmed.  The past few days our friends have called and stopped by all to say goodbye to my silly boy.  As I said, we are getting the humans ready, as I can tell he is, at this point, which is why I am cherishing every single one of these little moments we have left.  As I see my son struggle with this, the first death of a pet, I am struck by the thought that before too long he will be leaving home and that my moments with him will soon become fewer and farther between, and that I have to try and make as many as I can, and hold on to them before he too has gone on his way in his life.  Cherish those around you; family, friends and furbabies, we don't get to have them for too long in this life, and every moment will some day be a precious memory.

Don't you remember?

With the tragedies of yesterday around the world I had a bit of a heavy heart last night as I put together this ensemble and I was surprised at how empty the grid was for a Saturday night.  Which of course worked well in my favor as I got to wander around to take pics at Templemore!  I absolutely love this sim, always have, and from time to time I get to wander around and discover new secret spots to snap a great photo.  As I said, my heart was a bit heavy with personal things and with the state of the world the last couple of days so I let the memories in for a little while.

I know I am showing my age today, but as I was putting this all together a tune from one of my all time favorite bands popped into my head and I have been unable to rid myself of the lyrics and the sounds of the chords, which means, you all get to be treated or tormented, depending on how you feel about the 80's!

I don't even know where to begin with this ensemble, to be honest, because I seriously LOVE every piece!  We will start from head to toe with this fun and curly hair from Damselfly that I picked up over the Summer at the Hair Fair, but I am sure you can find it in the store or on the MP.  Aptly named Lively the wild curls will make anyone feel a little fancy free.  If you have been following my blog for a bit now, you know I rarely stray away from DeeTaleZ skins and today is just like any other day except I got to spruce it up with this FABULOUS new lipstick from Alaskametro, exclusively on sale at Sad November!  The Angel lipsticks come in a wide variety of deep tones with a nod to the time of year here in the United States.  So if for no other reason than to get your hands on these shades available of course for all your favorite mesh heads, head on over to the event before the 21st!  I am going to rave about the Gacha Garden again because I was more than excited to be able to pick up every piece of Meva's Bogo Collection, including the Rare AND the Seed of Inspiration!  OH!  I have EXTRAS of the rare and most other pieces if interested!  Just leave me a message here or on Facebook, or send a NC inworld (JadedPanther Resident)!  After breaking the bank at the Gacha Garden on all the goodies there I was so excited to get to show you the pieces when I opened the newest release from NoName currently available at The Thrift Shop for a HUGELY discounted price!

Seasons Change

One thing you can always count on in this life is change.  No matter how much we try to avoid it or run from it, change is inevitable.  Whether it be a friendship, a relationship or just the seasons.  As I wandered through the grid yesterday, I realized that while I wasn't looking, change had once again happened all around me.  The sims have turned from the gorgeous hues of Autumn to the cold, crisp tones of Winter.  The stark landscapes illuminated by the lights from inside where hot cocoa is made and families gather to celebrate the changing of the seasons and the upcoming holidays.  One thing that hasn't changed today though, is the fact that there are a number of events happening around the grid that you should go and check out!

Vogue's Fall Fest is in full swing, and if you haven't been by yet, you are missing an amazing shopping experience.  The sim is decorated for the seasons with over 60 designers bringing you new and exclusive items through December 1st.  And don't forget, each creator has a gift for 10L or under, even more of an incentive to run on over!  If I haven't tempted you enough, let me try again!

INVADER offers up this adorable Bear Hoodie in a variety of colors, and textures for you to pick from, and of course I just fell in love with the "Panda" version!  The hood fits perfectly over this hair, and I tried it with a few others and it is made quite well, leaving enough room for a lot of hairs to fit under it.  And of course, YumZ has released the "Nikki Solid Leggings" for the Fall Fest as well, and they fit PURRfectly under the hoodie!  I was quite pleased with the over all look, and just had to toss on my favorite "Cozies" socks from Reign to complete the outfit!

If you have seen my running around the grid lately, you have spotted this tattoo on my hands, which I just can't seem to stop wearing!  "The Last Flower" by Elska is available with a whole bunch of appliers currently at Sad November.  The details are perfect on the hand and wrist and are faded without looking unnatural.  Truly, my favorite tattoo I have found recently.  If you haven't discovered Entwined Hair yet, then you are missing out on a wonderful new creator.  The Rebeccah hair, pictured here, lies perfectly and I adore the color selections available, so hurry on over and pick yourself up a few new, stylish and current hairs!

Took a moment to bask in the fading light of the evening with a cup of hot cocoa at Nordan om Jordan.  The sim is absolutely gorgeous and I took some time to explore all the little paths and thoroughly enjoyed my stay, so wander on over and take a look for yourself.   The seasons are changing and a very busy time of year is upon us, it is time for everyone to take a deep breath and appreciate everything around them.  Embrace the change and hold fast to the thought that everything always changes, so that if today looks a little bleak, tomorrow may very well bring the change you have been looking for!

Winter's Glow

It seems Mother Nature decided to blanket most of the country in cold and snow this week, making it look and feel a whole lot like Christmas.  Which of course is right around the corner, as evidenced by the current offerings at events all around the grid.  While browsing through posts on Facebook yesterday I came across a post featuring this fantastic gazebo and I just had to make it mine!  And what a better backdrop for the "Just Chillin'" outfit from Facepalm, for Vogue Fall Fest!

I love the fit of every piece of this outfit by itself and in combination.  The cardigan fits well over an ample chest and my hips didn't break through in all of my posing.  Now, the tank comes with the outfit, but any skintight tank will work, making this outfit not only cute and trendy, but also very versatile.   Another highlight of this post is this gorgeous necklace from 7mad;Ravens, currently at Sad November.  "Autumn's End" features the gorgeous colors of Fall, and the added touch of the leaves falling away to nothing makes this a wonderful piece.  It is a unisex piece, with a resizer built in, making it easy to fit for both sexes.  Hurry on over and grab yours before it is too late!

The Katie dress is available in several colors and the wedges go fantastically with each of them!  I love that the new mesh panels over system clothes are fitting so perfectly now.  I have been shying away for a bit as I hate fitting the panels and so many times they just do not fit smoothly.  The new mesh panels are AMAZING!  If you are still having trouble fitting them, here is a HINT!  If the panel is still visible from the side or you can see the edges, go into "Edit Appearance" and simply increase your tummy size, and VOILA, a perfect fit every time!  It took me a few tries to find this solution, but it does work every time.  Tried it on 3 different dresses by three different designers and every skirt panel fit perfectly!

Only a Busy Signal

Don't you just miss being able to take the phone off the hook and disappear for a little bit?  What I wouldn't give to have a "Do Not Disturb" sign for life.  With so many events and special sales etc happening on the grid, it is a busy time for everyone.  There is always one more phone call, one more post to do, one more event to attend, one more re-opening to make an appearance at and sometimes, you just want to leave the phone off the hook.

Vogue's Fall Fest has been going on for a couple of days now and if you haven't been by you really should!  Over 60 designers with new and exclusive releases for the event AND everyone has a gift available for a max of $10L.  So what are you waiting for?  More reasons to go?  Well then you are in luck because this amazing outfit is from Bougie.  The Affiance Leather outfit is available in several colors and it is very well made.  Textures are fantastic as is the attention to detail on the front and not to mention this is the ONLY mesh skirt panel I have ever found that fits PERFECTLY!    I was incredibly impressed and is one reason why I will be checking Bougie out more often!

Send in the Clowns

If you love the carnival music; the crunch of peanut shells under your feet; the smell of cotton candy and hot buttered popcorn; and the distinct, yet distant aroma of wild animals and hay; then Cirque de Seraphim is one event you MUST check out!  The event covers two sims with TONS of designers all offering goodies catering to the circus theme.  Now as most people know, I am terrified of clowns, but that is really exclusive to the creepy wig, red nose wearing weirdos you can often find making balloon animals at children's birthday parties.  Luckily for me, those are not the clowns at Cirque de Seraphim!  My love of the "sad" clown teamed up with my desire to always be a Ring Leader for my post today!

I went to the event with the idea of picking up an outfit and ended up getting a lot more than just ONE!  Of course a Circus themed event would feature jackets like this one from BOOM, but needless to say, the detailing on this made it the winner.  The fit on this jacket is fantastic and didn't break in all my moving and posing, which is always a plus!  I knew when I saw the jacket that I had just picked up a skirt that would match PERFECTLY from Chapter Four.  I love this skirt, it fits perfectly with very little alpha "peeking."  And what Ring Leader ensemble would be complete without a Top Hat and Crop, which RACK Poses provides in the "Puttin' On a Show" pose set.  The crop lines up perfectly in the poses and I didn't have to move the hat to make it look perfect!  Matched up with the Rope Heels from Clamberry and the look was complete!  So send in the clowns!

Vogue Celebrates Fall

SL Vogue's Fall Fest starts November 10th and runs through December 1st featuring over 60 of Secondlife's best designers!  Get ready to come fall in love with Autumn and Vogue!  Unpacking all my goodies I absolutely fell in love at first sight with this amazing outfit from Facepalm!  The jacket has a great fit and the detailing is truly exquisite.  Not to mention the added touch of the boots for Slink High feet makes the outfit complete.  It inspired me to find somewhere to wander through the snow.  I was quite pleased with the result, and I hope you are too!

I have to take a moment and talk about Poudre Skins.  I love the detail on these skins, and not being one who wears all the mesh parts, and hasn't invested in a Mesh Body yet at all, I realize that I don't pay attention to who is offering what appliers at the moment.  Recently, it has been brought to my attention that Poudre does not offer ALL appliers, and I have to say......AND?!  The mesh pieces have been in such continual controversy that I think it is naive to believe that ALL skin makers will cater to these bodies so soon after their creation.  I think if you LOVE a skin, then you will wear it whether they make all the appliers or not.  For me, the Slink Hands and Feet, and Lola appliers, are all I use, which Poudre has in the store.  Before eliminating a skin designer make sure you check them and take a deep breath and know that it is a very fast paced, always changing world on SL, and that we should appreciate what we have at the moment!  I, for one, will not be changing the skins I wear and will continue to shop the skin designers I adore!

This fantastic dress from Zenith is available at FaMeshed right now and comes in a whole variety of colors so that everyone can find their perfect match!  The length really helps it be a dress or it can be paired with leggings as well for an almost retro 80's look, if you happen to remember the big sweater and leggings fad, like I do.  The necklace, is sold with the sweater in complimentary colors, so make sure to grab one!  I love that little fishy and it is a very versatile piece.  Both the sweater and the necklace are very well made, although, your legs will break through if your avatar moves around a lot.  It didn't bother me that much since I have been out wandering the grid in this outfit today, since it really only happens in the back.  Check out those SHOES!  So adorable!  A great little find at Junbug for FLF.  They are available in two colors, the "Original" is pictured here, but there is also a Ruby red pair for 50L as well.  I am not always a fan of Glam Affair skins, but today....I just might have changed my mind.  This GORGEOUS skin is available for 50L for FLF today ONLY!  So hurry on over, the appliers for Slink hands and feet are reasonably priced at 95L each, so if it is your first Glam Affair skin, make sure to grab them before heading off for your next destination!  The Firewood Storage Bench, that is hiding a bit, and the Branch Wrapped Candles are Sway's contribution for today's FLF, and I absolutely adore them both!

 Sad November absolutely blew my mind, AND my pocket book!  Just a couple items to show from there at the moment, but make sure to stay tuned!  I love this tattoo from Elska, "Last Flower."  It comes with every applier you could want or need, and is clear and perfectly detailed.  I have been looking for a feminine yet, bold hand tattoo and this one is perfect!
