Lady of the light gone mad with the night - Featuring Virtual Diva

So if any one was paying attention to my post at the end of last week, then you know I was looking forward to a week of getting organized for work and of doing a bit of catch up on my blogging. Well as we all know, as soon as you make plans, life happens. I have been putting on a bit of a brave face of late as I have had to ween myself off of my nerve medication, per physician instruction, since I have developed a life threatening allergy to it. If there was one medication I would tell people I couldn't live without, it would have been that one, so I have been getting to know that pain again and it has thrown me for a loop and kept me from being able to come into town to my computer. It has been years now since I have had to feel the fire of nerve pain through my body, but I am finding a new strength in looking for alternative treatments and empowering myself and once again calling pain my constant companion, my muse, but never my friend.

Happy Monday everyone! I hope those of you in the States have had a wonderfully long Holiday weekend, full of food and family, and for the rest of you around the world, I hope you are greeting this Monday with enthusiasm! Home is where... Featuring Kaerri @ Swank, De(c)ocrate, Fancy Decor, The Loft and Scarlet Creative

This week has literally been FILLED with doctor's appointments for myself and for the kids, which means I have put over 200 miles on the car in 4 days and I feel like I haven't had a moment to sit and breathe! But yesterday brought great news in regards to my health, so that is a huge weight off the whole family's shoulders and now we can focus on the medical issues going on with the oldest boy. Having to go through all kinds of tests at 19 was not my wish for my child, and I am very worried because it was at the exact same age that my autoimmune issues reared their ugly head. Lots of blood tests, more heart tests and lots of shaken nerves and long nights has been the theme of our Fall. So with fingers crossed, positive thoughts and lots of cozy nights with the family planned for the next couple of weeks, is how we deal with this new hurdle. With that in mind, I started thinking about picking up a sign for the house, with a quote about family and I found the perfect quote, now just to find the sign or make it myself! The boys would LOVE that project on top of the floor next weekend! LOL

Home is where LOVE resides,

Friends are always WELCOME,

and FAMILY is forever.

And all of this made me finally put down a home on my land and started to decorate it again, which meant De(c)ocrate has become a part of my life, and OMG I got so excited when I got my first box this month and just had to incorporate a few goodies into this scene inspired by the GORGEOUS new living room collection from Kaerri, currently at the Swank event.

The Black Swan’s Song – Featuring Virtual Diva, Petit Chat, Truth, Uber, Swank, Dead Dollz, Project Se7en

Due to circumstances beyond my control with my health lately, I have been unable to post as much as I would have liked. As I sit here tonight with time on my hands for the first time in a bit I can't seem to come up with a witty story or anecdote. Two and a half years ago I had the scariest 29 days of my life, and it seems my body has decided to do a repeat performance of that moment in time. And though I am not as afraid as I was the first time possible Breast Cancer was mentioned, I am also finding it harder to stay positive. For the last year it has been one thing right after the other in regards to my health and I am just ready for this roller coaster to stop. So instead of trying to eek out something meaningless I am simply going to talk to you about how I fell in love with this Black Swan creature I put together, and I hope you do too!

Just in time for that most Hallowed of seasons, Virtual Diva has created this stunning Black Swan ensemble, complete with feathers, crown, skirt and appliers, as well as this GORGEOUS eye makeup applier for LeLutka! I was looking for an updo hairstyle when I stumbled across this new release from Truth currently available at Uber, which is where I went to pick up Dead Dollz Ballet outfit so I could grab the perfect toe shoes and tights, bringing the entire ensemble together. And after that I literally scampered off to FOXCITY because I remembered they had a set of sexy ballet poses recently, but I got lost and stumbled into a bunch of purchases, and I couldn't be happier! From the stunning backgrounds, to props, to amazingly detailed poses, everything is a MUST have for anyone who takes photos, so head there if you haven't become addicted yet! And because this photo wasn't enough to show off the makeup or the new cuffs from Petit Chat, I just HAD to take a close up!

I adore this skin from Essences that was in the September Powder Pack, and for some reason I have started leaning towards the paler skins, only if they have great shading and details like this one does, and I have planned a little trip by the store to pick up a few more appliers for my LeLutka head. The United States is quite a buzz today with the total eclipse of the Sun, which happens to be gracing the skies starting here shortly, with great views apparently happening almost every where except of course here in Flagstaff, where we have showers and clouds in the forecast. My brain has been a whirling black cloud of chaos and confusion for a couple of weeks now, and I am finally beginning to see my way through. In the midst of all the chaos I continue to pace myself and remember to breathe, while continuing to stop and see the beauty that surrounds us, even in the most hectic moments. I have realized I do this a lot with my blogging, not just to try and relieve stress, but to help bring forth the art that resides inside me. This post has taken me several days to complete due to doctor appointments and then needing time to process what is happening with my RL and a much needed breakfast with my parents. Sitting them down and having to tell them I have developed a serious heart condition was not the highlight of my day and I honestly wish I could wake up and this would all be a dream, but I can't and now I have to learn to live a whole new way, again. I had a moment of weakness a couple of days ago and broke down, just tired of fighting with my health and cried until I had those stupid hiccup cries and in the end I felt cleansed. I love how tears can do that, and though I felt a sense of relief, a plan hasn't yet formed for how I learn to deal with this new change, but as my Dad reminded me today, the sun will still rise tomorrow and with it, a new day comes to shed light that can make you see things complete differently, or at least to see the beauty that lies even in the darkest, twisted depths of chaos that resides within my soul.

I know there are a million bazillion songs that have been written that I could search through when I am on a particular topic; and I know some bloggers obsess on never repeating tunes, but sometimes I just can't help myself. Personally I have decided that if it can go on replay for an hour or so, then it can get another play on the blog. When I took this photo today I was hoping I could find a windlight that would help me capture the mood I was in, and when clicking through the hundreds I have recently downloaded, this appeared, I didn't adjust it, or tweek it all, because it was PERFECT, and so were Owl City's Fireflies flitting around in my mind.

In case you missed my post earlier this month featuring the newest releases from Virtual Diva for Swank, I wanted to make sure you saw this absolutely fabulous new, original headpiece design for the Reborn dress, and the gorgeous flowing curls of the Dream hair. Dance Right HERE! Featuring Virtual Diva @ Swank!

I had an idea for the name of this post as I was doing it, and then well, you know how I am with music, and a song playing on Spotify ended up on repeat and I decided to share! My feet were dancing under the computer chair and I was bouncing along to the tune and though the song is about a pair of shoes that start the dancing, I decided that this dress from Virtual Diva made me feel the same way and I just wanted to start dancing around on the platform. I am glad no one logged in to see me up there being a nut but it was a much needed stress break! I think in the hustle and bustle of things in life we often forget to take some time and just blow off some steam. Whether it's a bit of heavy metal or simply bursting out in dance, as we get older we stop taking the time to do these things and it seriously stresses us out! Think about the days when you used to just take off and drive with no particular destination in mind, just to clear your head? The stereo up so loud to drown out the noise of the stress in your own head? Or dancing around the kitchen to the latest pop song on the kids radio, using the spatula as a microphone, hoping the kids don't come around the corner and catch you? We all need these moments in life, and today I am in NEED! So come along with me and just get up and dance where ever you are!

Have you ever had a friend misunderstand you so badly that it pretty much ends a friendship? While the strings that have held you together for years start to fall away, you sit, still stunned, because you never had any intention of hurting their feelings? I may be a weaver of words, but when things become emotional I become mute, especially when I have upset someone unintentionally. After a couple of months I have come to realize that not everyone, even those you thought were closest to you, will understand you all the time. We all get caught up in our own worlds and have a tendency to not step outside the box and do "others" thinking, as I call it. You have to identify the situation someone is in before you judge, and see it from the point of view of the person you have an issue with, but this rarely happens, and it's sad when assumptions become the rule not the exception. When all has been said and done and you are at peace with your side of things, all you can do is wait and see what the future holds and hope for the best because friendships are worth saving, not losing over a misunderstanding.

Chess like kings and queens above all - Virtual Diva

I am feeling a bit feisty today, and I am not quite sure why, other than the weather has once again turned towards Spring and I am looking quite forward to it's rather late arrival. The garden has been planted for a bit now with the more resilient plants and next week all the baby plants in the kitchen window get to find their way into the soil, but not before the fence is finished so the rabbits can stop running off with my baby Rhubarb and Swiss Chard! And of course as the temperatures rise we have a tendency to shed layers and start revealing more skin, and if you are looking for an ensemble that goes from the runway to the beach then look no further than this amazing ensemble from Virtual Diva, currently at Swank!

The Delirium ensemble comes with the headpiece add-on and the hip flowers as well as the daring swimsuit that reveals just enough, but not very much! I loved the fit on this suit especially as I walked and posed and it didn't break or stretch the wrong way, but be careful when posing the hip pieces might need to be moved. The textures are wonderfully done on the roses and I love the edgy, Summer runway feel of this ensemble, and I am hoping you all do too, because this seriously needs to make its way into your closet!

Lately I have fallen in love with Nanika tattoos, and this has to be my favorite! I picked it up a couple months ago but make sure to check out current events for other amazing pieces, I know I will be grabbing them as soon as my wallet can afford it! Trust me, you won't be disappointed when you see all the fabulous designs.

Feeling a bit G L A M O R OUS! - Virtual Diva @ Swank, Nord Embel'Lys, No.Match

Psst....don't bother to look for me today, I am playing hookey! - Serenity Style, unKindness, Aphrodite and CIRCA

Do you ever have those days where you would much rather runaway with your friends than do work? Today is one of those days for me and I am having the hardest time getting motivated to work! I have been gone so long that I have missed months of my friends lives and all I want to do is invite everyone over to just sit down and chat for awhile around a fire, on my newly decorated land on SL. I think my landlord was beginning to pray for my return so she could take down the blockade of wintry trees from in front of my land, since I was still stuck in Winter while the rest of the sim was in bloom. Yesterday and today I remedied that situation and finally put down a new house and decorated for Spring. I knew Aphrodite had sent me a wonderful package of flowering trees, released for Valentine's Day, that would work perfectly in this newly decorated space. And since I happened to be in the decorating mood at that point I decided to remove myself from the equation and show off some wonderful new releases for your home from unKindness, Serenity Style, Aphrodite and CIRCA.

The current round of The Liaison Collaborative is called "Romantic Metal" and I have been delighted with the releases from unKindness and Serenity Style. "A Love Touch Collection" from Serenity Style has four pieces and they can be bought individually or as a Fatpack. I love the vintage feel of this collection which always fits well into my life, so I can guarantee pieces will be finding their way into other rooms in my home. So far this year signs have dominated the decor market and you will not be disappointed with the ones offered at the event from unKindness. I happen to have a wood burning stove at home and I love it. It isn't our only heat source, but the heater only comes on if we aren't home to make a fire. When I saw this gorgeous piece at FaMESHed from Dutchie I just knew I had to have it in my home. When I got home and realized there were poses and cuddles with it I got even more excited! Today is one of those days I absolutely despised when I was single because it made me feel a little left out I guess. This year, though not single, I have come to discover that today is just another day if you happen to be in a relationship where you are consistently showing your significant other how you feel. The boyfriend and I just celebrated 9 months together last week, and like all the other months before hand, we exchanged cards, had dinner and reminded each other why we fell in love in the first place. So when the sun rose this morning on this day of love I simply said, "Good Morning," because for us, it is just another day. I might have picked up something different for dinner tonight, and I might have picked up a card sometime earlier this month just because I liked what it had to say, but for the most part Valentine's Day is every day in my life, and it should be for you too. Whether it's simply walking around to open the car door for you when going out for groceries, or picking up your favorite soda when your stomach is upset, or getting up early to take the car into the shop so you don't have to. These are the simply things, the little things that matter the most, not some grand gesture thought of at the last minute because someone reminded you it's Valentine's Day. If you truly love the one you are with, then show them that for you, every day is Valentine's Day because you are blessed to have them in your life.

The Fortuna Collection comes with a wide variety of pieces, but I fell in love with the bracelets, and since my jewelry box is overflowing, I didn't splurge on the whole set, at least not yet! With my return and the introduction of BENTO, you can imagine I have been spending hours up on the platform tweaking the sliders to get the perfect look. I discovered that with different appliers, the same face can look incredibly different! If you happen to be a lover of the Gothic, or purple, or a bit of both then you really need to head over to Swank before they close their doors, and pick up this absolutely stunning new set from [CIRCA], exclusively available at the Swank event.

Everything pictured here, minus the build is available at the event, including the Trio Candle set on the fireplace mantle, that is a gift at the event. Every piece is incredibly well designed and the textures have wonderful depth and color throughout. Each piece has a bit of Gothic charm to it, complete with a few spiderwebs tucked away in just the right spots.
