These chemicals between us - Vengeful Threads, ReVamped, Virtual Diva

As the date of my surgery approaches I am tying up loose ends in my life, RL and SL, which means I have some events and organizations that I just HAVE to get a blog post or two done for because I owe the wonderful creators that before I head off for a bit!  If you haven't had a chance to check out the newest event from Models Giving Back, ReVamped, then you are truly missing out on a fantastic new shopping experience.  I know all of us have had those moments as we go through our inventory and sigh a bit in distress as we move a favorite outfit into the trash because the creator hadn't made appliers for it, or when you look at a piece and wish it came in another color.  ReVamped has taken that idea to a new level and is challenging designers to re-create a previous item, whether in a new color, or an old item turned into mesh with appliers, everything is new in some way which I know makes me all kinds of happy when I see some of the top creators bringing us well loved items with a new twist!  The current round offers all kinds of amazing goodies for your avatar and your home from some of the grids top designers, so do yourself a favor and head on over to the event today!

Taking a chance on a New Years resolution with a little help from Strawberry Singh

Long before I started blogging I was an avid fan of the wonderful Strawberry Singh which means for over two years now I have been reading her blog and have always been amazed by the number of people who participate in her challenges.  Though I have planned on taking on a challenge or two or ten since I started, part of me has been hesitant, and it's probably the shy side of me, yes I have one!  But for my own resolutions this year I decided I need to be more social and more approachable than I have been in the past few years, which means the first thing I did was head over to Strawberry Singh's site to see what thoughts she had into the new year and to see if there were any challenges being put out to us all in the SL community.  The article from January 2, 2016 put forth a few challenges/resolutions and I was particularly interested in the second.  "Try a mesh head and wear it for at least 24 hours – Some of you have already converted over to mesh heads and have become loyal to them. But there are still a lot of you that are strongly against them. I thought it would be interesting to get you guys to open up a bit and try it out."  Well, as most of my close friends know I have not been a fan of the mesh heads, at all.  Having come over from another 3D site I came to Second Life to be different, to look different, and the last thing I wanted was to go back to just being another face in the crowd.  I have been more than a tad bit resistant, even as more and more heads have been released, as well as oodles of appliers from my favorite skin designers.  Since I had already decided part of 2016 was going to be about stepping out of my comfort zone, I decided to take the mesh head challenge and see what all the fuss was about.  Off I went picking up 20+ different heads from across the grid, as well as several appliers and headed up to my platform to do a little research.

I have to say, I was stunned to discover that 99% of the mesh heads I tried on had to be worn with eyes by the same creator and did not fit IKON's mesh eyes.  Which, for me is truly heart breaking, but made my choice in heads a lot easier!  I literally have over 75 pairs of eyes from IKON and I hate the idea of not being able to use what I think are the most amazing eyes on the grid.  That being said, if you too are a fan of IKON, then know LeLutka heads will always fit your gorgeous peepers!  This seriously narrowed my search and in the end I fell absolutely in love with the last release of 2015, the premier of the V 1.4, Simone.  Check out the blog to see all the goodies released for Simone which should make everyone excited for the upcoming releases as they will be based on this special release.  I actually love this head so much I almost didn't share which LeLutka head I had fallen for, but it is my duty as a blogger to share with you what I discover in my journey along the grid, so with a little bit of grumbling I had to share. I have found out it doesn't matter if you wear the same head or not, how we dress, carry ourselves and the appliers we use change how even a mesh head looks.  If you have been thinking about checking them out for the first time then take some inspiration from me and Strawberry Singh and take a chance on mesh heads for your resolution this year.

I think this ensemble got me a bit fired up as well and got me feeling quite feisty with its flesh baring styling and curve hugging pants which I thought went perfectly with this gorgeous set of dramatic pearls from Indulge Temptation.  You can pick up both items at Swank which started yesterday, so hurry on over and get your hands on some fantastic designs before your friends do since they are probably all preoccupied with some of the larger events that just opened as well.

I am begrudgingly a little behind in my blogging for AnaMarkova Designs, even though I try and get out at least two posts a month to show off her releases, but it just doesn't seem to be enough!  If you have been a fan then make sure to remember that AnaMarkova releases weekly so the few items I get to show off to you are really only a tiny peek into the gorgeous creations added to the store much more often than I could possibly blog!  The Toyah Sweater Dress is a perfect example of something you don't want to miss out on!  This stunning, body draping dress comes in several colors with matching shoes, with each piece wonderfully textured with an incredible attention to detail.  So make sure you head by Designer Showcase and the store to pick up the latest and greatest from AnaMarkova Designs!

Today, December 11th, marks the New Moon and a new program at Lone Wolf Studio as well as a new product!  Lone Wolf Studio marks the New Moon with a new release and this time the amazing creator brings you a new set of nails perfect for this time of year.  Expect to find releases on the New and Full Moon's in the store this month and probably from now on, so make sure to check my blog and the store!

I also wanted to show off two of the stunning make up pieces currently at this round of Anybody from Alaskametro.  The Creme Duo shadows come in a wide variety of colors as well appliers for your favorite mesh heads, with the Omega applier; and the Sheer Gloss also comes in a bunch of colors and also comes with the same appliers as well as Standard Layers.  Do yourself a favor and head on by the event before it's too late and these disappear into the Marketplace store.

Come a little closer to hear me whisper

I often find during the Fall everyone seems to lose their spunk when it comes to adding color to their wardrobes.  It's like by Christmas suddenly everyone is putting on bright jewel tones because they are missing the warmth, but the Fall everyone turns to muted tones to mimic the world outside.  I am a firm believer that color enhances your mood.  My closet on SL and in RL happens to consist of a lot of black, dark navy and well more BLACK, but I have every color of the rainbow in accent pieces, and you will find these often match my mood.  With how down I have been as of late because of the imminent passing of my 12 year old Pitbull, I was excited to pull some color out of the closet today to help perk up my mood, and it helped!  So take a hint from me and if you find yourself as muted as the hues and tones around you then grab something bright and bold and make a statement as you elevate your mood!

The Sinner's Hunt - Envy

When I first came back to SL, almost two years ago now, I spent a lot of my time out on hunts as I learned everything over again.  But as I have gotten busier with blogging and other things I have noticed I stopped hunting.  Now whether that is just because I have tons more to do now or if it's because I haven't been inspired by anything I have seen, I don't know.  But recently, a gallery caught my eye and I have to say The Sinner's Hunt will be well worth your time of seeking out the little skulls hidden around the grid in some of your favorite shops, including this wonderful ensemble from Mishmash Fusion!

Last few hours to shop Solaris Fashion Week AW15

Tomorrow, October 24th marks the closing day of Solaris Fashion Week's retail area which means you only have today to check out the amazing venue and all of the fantastic releases from over 70 of the hottest designers on the grid.  In case you missed the fashion shows last week then you didn't get to pick up the grab bags from all the featured designers but lucky for you they are available in the individual stores until the doors close.  Virtual Diva stunned the crowds with her amazing creations on the runway, including this fabulous ensemble!

The Euridice ensemble is a gorgeous pantsuit with an intricately lace detailed bodice and flowing train attachment with fluffy faux fur collar the fits the frame wonderfully.  This design is perfect for the upcoming holiday season or other events.  The ensemble can be worn with or without the train making it a much more casual outfit for that night out with a special someone.  Do yourself a favor and hurry on over to the event venue before it's too late.

"Voices trapped in yearning, memories trapped in time."

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to spend some time away from the computer and out of the house down at the Page Springs Winery, and as is my nature, I pushed myself a bit.  Which means, I have been paying for it yesterday and today.  But I can say this, which is a good sign, though I am stiff and in pain, it isn't as bad as it has been.  Means the physical therapy is already doing a bit of something which has left my spirits quite high!  So my posts may be short as my fingers are having a few issues working for me, but the pictures will still be here to show off all kinds of amazing items to get your hands on before the month ends!!

I don't know whether it is the stress of the Summer or merely a desire to be far, far away in general but I have been dreaming of a cruise for weeks now down among the Caribbean Islands or even more distant, exotic ports.  So today as I busied myself with unpacking my enormous pile of boxes I was delighted with the newest releases you can only find at Designer Showcase from AnaMarkova Designs, as they fit my daydreaming mood perfectly!

With having been gone since mid-July it was hard for me to show off all the amazing hairs that were offered at Hair Fair 2015, which saddens me, but at least I can still show you the designs even if they are no longer up for charity.  You may find some of the hairs are no longer available as they were exclusives to the event, but check the stores just in case!!!  I love this short, feisty hair from Tableau Vivant that I picked up at the Hair Fair, which comes in both male and female styles, like I said above, not sure if available so check the store!!!

I am starting to notice as I get older, my choices for gowns tend towards the classic style versus the avante garde of my youth.  I think that is more a sign of maturity for me than a change in my over all style, as the choices still are bold in comparison to others.  The Apply Me event has been up and running for a couple of days now and I just need to gush for a moment.  This is the first round of this event from Solaris and so far the results have been outstanding.  I am literally buried in boxes and the offerings are truly fantastic.  No matter what mesh body you use, or mesh add-ons you are sure to find exactly what you have been needing at Apply Me, including this stunning new gown from Cherished Creations.

The "Temptation" gown is a combination of mesh and prim pieces combined to make this magnificent dress that you can only pick up at Apply Me.  The delicate rose detailing along the straps continues down the back giving a very alluring profile for all those who happen to have their eyes turned your way.  The dress is wonderfully designed and textured making it a hit in my book and you can be assured this dress will find its way to an event or two this Summer.  HSe's Walk the Night With Me, a Gothic Wedding Event is also in full swing on the grid, but will be closing soon which means you don't have a lot of time left to go and pick up this amazing new jewelry set from Glint.  The Sacred Heart collection comes in a wide variety of colors to choose from, but I loved the "Raven" with this ensemble and thought it was a perfect match.

Lost in his headlights

I know everyone has had that moment when they are waiting for that special someone to pull up to the curb, or into the driveway to pick you up for a special night; and as the headlights track from your toes to your head, that sudden, self conscious moment washes over you just like the lights.  Tonight, as the lights flashed up the drive I felt almost bashful as my eyes rose to meet his.  Have to love those little moments that still make you go weak in the knees; whether it's a new love or an old one, those times are special.

The stillest time of the night is after the party has died

It is that magical, witching hour of the night, the time when in fairy tales Cinderella unfortunately turned from the bell of the ball to the Queen of the cinder pit and for those of us not living in a dream world; it is the time that the party has started to wind down.  The music, whose bass has been beating through everyone's body all night, has now quieted and the occasional laugh carries along through the air mixing with the soft whisper of the water in the pool; creating a much different atmosphere than the earlier hustle and bustle of the soiree.  It is that time when you can sit back and relax in the energy given off by those around you and take time to breathe and relax.  I always find myself wandering to the edge of the pool to have the sounds and dazzling lights dancing off the water lull me into a strange state of mediation.  Tonight I sparkled in a gorgeous new ensemble from dirty.little.secret exclusively for The Wash event.

I am a tad bit behind this week, and I am not quite sure how that happened!  Other than a few days that seem to have gotten lost due to errands, and the last day of school.  But it is officially Summer Break for my son and I and guess what?!  I slept in today!  Oddly, he didn't, which I just find a little strange.  I vaguely remember peering at him this morning through sleep encrusted eyes at 7:22 am and him telling me he would see me later.  The cocoon I had woven myself into over night beckoned me back to deep sleep, and apparently I answered that call.  It is now after 9 am and I am bright eyed and bushy tailed!  I hope you are as well or this post is going to be a tad bit too chipper for you today!  I have been doing a bit of shopping lately, which means I am bringing you all kinds of new releases on the grid today.  I have to be honest with all of you, when I bought this fantastic hair from Mina for the newest round of FaMeshed, I knew I was going to be taking a pic in just undies, and what better pair to pick for you today than the new "Neon" boy shorts from HEYDRA.
