Lady of the light gone mad with the night - Featuring Virtual Diva

So if any one was paying attention to my post at the end of last week, then you know I was looking forward to a week of getting organized for work and of doing a bit of catch up on my blogging. Well as we all know, as soon as you make plans, life happens. I have been putting on a bit of a brave face of late as I have had to ween myself off of my nerve medication, per physician instruction, since I have developed a life threatening allergy to it. If there was one medication I would tell people I couldn't live without, it would have been that one, so I have been getting to know that pain again and it has thrown me for a loop and kept me from being able to come into town to my computer. It has been years now since I have had to feel the fire of nerve pain through my body, but I am finding a new strength in looking for alternative treatments and empowering myself and once again calling pain my constant companion, my muse, but never my friend.

I honestly have no idea where the last couple of months went, and I can't believe Thanksgiving is literally right around the corner. Our house is still in shambles but we had an incredibly productive weekend and the days after Thanksgiving will be spent putting in the new floor, which I am terribly excited about! Thirteen months after the leak was discovered we are getting the house together and in a few months it will be ready to be put up for sale, unless we decide to stay in Flagstaff for some odd reason. But all of this means we won't be having Thanksgiving at our house and the rest of the family doesn't cook, so a turkey dinner with all the fixings is not on the agenda this year, and I am a tad bit disappointed. I love the whole production like atmosphere of Thanksgiving, and its the only time of the year I get to make certain dishes I love, so I have a feeling we will be having our own turkey dinner at some point this month, since Christmas will be spent with the entire family, where I will be cooking lots of different things except a turkey! The truth is, I love the traditions, and the time with the family and I hate when things change, which means I am a bit out of sorts now after finalizing the plans for next week, and a quote from Oscar Wilde has danced through my head this morning more than once, after realizing what he meant. "The truth is rarely pure and never simple," but a photo is simple and it speaks the truth you wish to see!

On Friday I actually had time to head out onto the grid from my land and check out a few events, including Collabor88, FaMESHed and Fifty Linden Fridays and I am STILL trying to unpack all my goodies! The perfect Autumn ensemble - Featuring Ashmoot, and Desmonia

If you have ever spent any time in the mountains of Arizona in the Fall, then you know how amazingly beautiful it can be, and how temperamental the weather is as well. The skies are crystal blue, with gorgeous white, fluffy clouds and the temperatures rise into the 70's during the day, while the evenings are dotted with campfires and bonfires, the smell of smoke in the air, sweaters and temps that dive into the 30's. From head to toe this entire outfit is incredibly well designed, textured, and the attention to detail is absolutely amazing! The oversized sweater goes perfectly over the flirty, skater styled skirt, the jewelry and glasses are expertly designed to add the perfect details, and check out this magnificent purse that comes in two styles with and without poses. I just had to take more than one photo so I could show off all the details, including the gorgeous new nails and lips from Alaskametro and the fantastic shoes and stockings, also from Ashmoot, that complete this ensemble.

All the items from Ashmoot are currently available at Designer Circle, which opened on the 15th and will run through the 28th, which means you have a little bit of time to head over and grab this ensemble for yourself. "As free as birds catching the wind." Featuring Empyrean Forge, !!smesh and Desmonia

The last year and a half of my life has been like a topsy turvy whirlwind of strange ups and downs, weird health issues and LOVE. After being single for a very long time, and handling things on my own, no matter how hard, I have come to realize that it doesn't matter what life throws at you, it becomes easier when you have someone with which to share it. I had become a bit resigned to being single for the rest of my life and had no intention of getting into a relationship, but to be honest, it was the best decision I never made! My wonderful man and I were on the same page, and we were enjoying having someone to help make dinner for the boys and hanging out as friends when suddenly the universe jumped up with other plans for us. So it wasn't a decision for us, it just happened, and though there have been struggles we couldn't have even imagined, I know neither of us would change a thing. The love of the family we have created together and our commitment to each other, makes life just a little bit easier. All of this was to lead into the fact that I am not a Miley Cyrus fan, at least with what she puts out on the radio, until the recent release of "Malibu", and when I heard it through my speakers through Spotify, I was hooked. In one moment the last year and a half of my life was summed up in a song, and though my toes may not be wiggling in the sands of Malibu, the feeling is the same.

I haven't showcased the We Love to Blog group and it's multitude of designers in a post in a while, so when I unboxed these goodies I JUST had to put them together along with this gorgeous new release from Empyrean Forge! I absolutely love this new hair from Desmonia, a new release in the store. It fits perfectly with mesh heads and if you haven't checked out the colors from Desmonia, then you really need to do yourself a favor and head by the store, and while there check out all the other new releases. It has been a bit since I have picked up anything from !!smesh, I hate to admit, so when I saw a release in the We Love to Blog group I got all excited, and this dress does not disappoint. My quiet time to find original answers - Featuring KiB Designs

Today is my son's 19th birthday and I am in a bit of a daze wondering when he turned from my "little man" into a man, but it seems to have happened over night. It was just he and I for a lot of years, and relying on each other has made our bond quite strong, but as any parent of a teen knows, sometimes it's hard to remember what it was like before all the arguing, yelling and independence seeking began. In the end you have to take a step back and watch them grow into adulthood, offering your help as it's needed and also learning when to let them experience life on their own terms, just as we all did years ago. I know he will probably wander far from home, and even today he said he will miss me when he goes, but no matter how far he roams, I reminded him that I will always be with him. Not in that sappy, in your heart way, but more in the fact that with every decision he makes in life he will carry the lessons I have tried to teach with him, and hope it guides him in the right directions in life. But everyone makes mistakes, and it isn't about how many times you fail, it's about getting back up and how you handle the failure that counts. I often find myself repeating the same quote over and over to him, and at this moment, I feel that I should heed my own advice and take some quiet time to ponder this amazingly wonderful, yet heartbreaking thing called life.

Others inspire us, information feeds us, practice improves our performance, but we need quiet time to figure things out, to emerge with new discoveries, to unearth original answers.

When my son was little I spent a lot of time at home and happened to fall in love with TLC and their wedding shows, which is where I first came into contact with the Sari, as fashion, the Hindu religion and the Pakistani culture. Today is one of those days that apparently my heart just wants to march to the beat of it's own drummer, with no rhyme or reason, at least not that I can find! And as usual it has me in a bit of an odd mood, but not a bad one, more like playful and whimsical. But life, as it is, has been showing it's ugly face and a long time ago I decided to meet these moments with levity and a wry sense of humor, while at the same time, being in the arms of the man I love, surrounded by my kids and friends is where I long to be. "Eyes on fire, Your spine is ablaze, Felling any foe with my gaze." Featuring the new Powder Pack release and Persefona

I started blogging to fill the gap created when I became disabled and no longer could work a traditional job, and because it gave me the chance to dip my feet back into the fashion and interior design worlds I had been separated from for years. At one point I was trying to blog for too many creators and it became a bit overwhelming, to be honest, and no longer served it's purpose of relieving stress and helping me to feel like I still could contribute to society. When my health took a turn for the worse I made the hard decision to step away from some of my blogging responsibilities and with that has come a sense of freedom. I have more time to concentrate on each and every photo and post, giving me the ability to better promote those who have chosen me to represent them with my blog. And with this freedom I have finally been able to work on my photo and editing skills, and with this has come recognition from artists I have followed and admired. Though I was never really looking for it, because as I said, I blog for my sponsors and I, and as long as they love what I do, I am content. But to see my photos soaring over a thousand views and hundreds of likes makes my heart burst with joy, because it means other people appreciate the artwork I create, and often times follow my blog, allowing them to also follow my real life, not just the fashion and decor of Second Life. The passion I originally started with has returned in abundance and I continue to watch and read tutorials about photography and photoshop, furthering my knowledge and allowing my art to grow.

One of the hardest things for me over the years in regards to photography on Second Life was the close up photo. Before I had my good computer everything got choppy up close, and since I couldn't render materials, I could never show off jewelry or makeup very well and it broke my heart. Once I did an upgrade on the computer I suddenly could do things I had never dreamed of with my photos and the settings on Second Life, but still the great close up alluded me. Everything always looked disproportionate and out of focus and I continued to struggle. After reading a few photo tutorials and learning a bit more about Firestorm I suddenly had perfectly proportioned, clear close ups and could show off jewelry and makeup like I had always wanted to, and this photo is a perfect example!

August 1st marked the release of the Powder Pack for LeLutka August edition and I had been dying to dive into the boxes, but my schedule hadn't permitted that until yesterday. This is probably my favorite pack since I started getting them, so I know they are expensive but do yourself a favor and go grab one, or make sure to reserve the next one, because you won't ever be disappointed. Today I am showing off gorgeous new eyes from Avi Glam, fresh new skin from Essences, and makeup from Zibska, Arise, and OHeMO. One of the things I love the most about the last full month of Summer, is the trend towards a redheads colour palette! It's the time of year when the palettes meet and meld together in some of the most spectacular of ways and I absolutely fell in love with this combination! As always Zibska has released perfect eye shadows that remind me of the sunsets in Arizona. The colours are blended well and I love the sparkles and shine, especially combined with this subtle brown lipstick from Arise. As most of you know, I have been an IKON eye addict, and I truly have never worn anything else because I love the shine and wide variety of colours. Avi Glam has blown me away with the Lure eyes, a new release for the August LeLutka Power Pack, with their gorgeous shine, fabulous colour choices and fantastic HUD to change the colours, size, and depth, making them incredibly versatile and you can bet I will be heading over to check out more eye releases!

One of the thing photographers often have happen in real life, are bokeh lights. They occur a lot around water and where there are lights and reflections and can add depth and shine to your Second Life photos, but they have to be added after through an editing program. Persefona has released a Bokeh Photography gacha set for the latest round of Cosmopolitan and I loved playing with them via the hud, changing their glow and size allowing me to create the lighting for this photo without having to add them via after effects. All photographers need to add this to their box of prop goodies, you won't be disappointed, and you can bet I will be avidly watching Persefona from now on! "Maybe sometimes we feel afraid, but it's alright The more you stay the same, the more they seem to change. Don't you think it's strange?"

For the past couple of weeks it feels like I have had very little time to recharge my batteries with all the running around for the boys and I for doctors and insurance, and trying to coordinate the work on our home, which is STILL in complete disarray. The four of us have been sharing a bathroom now since the beginning of June and we are all starting to get a bit tired of each other with all the waiting and bathroom schedule that should probably be hung on the fridge. When I have had any time at all, I have disappeared into blog posts and music as a bit of a "calgon" escape, but in all honesty it's just not enough. I am sure the boyfriend feels the same as all he has done is work from sun up til sun down recently with everything we have going on, and I know our minds keep returning to our vacation in June and wishing we could once again runaway for a few days. When everything gets hectic and you don't even seem to have time to do the simplest things, you sometimes just have to MAKE the time to relax and unwind, because if you don't, the stress can become overwhelming. So today I have had Corinne Bailey Ray playing through the speakers a bit loudly and I can feel the weight of my world finally starting to lift from my shoulders. I have to be honest when I say that I had not originally intended to blog this ensemble since it immediately went into the "Jadey Daily" folder as it perfectly fits the mood I was attempting to put myself into, but I just couldn't resist since it consists of brand new goodies from some of the top up and coming designers on the grid, as well as some of your favorite go to creators. Over the past couple of months I have been impressed with the releases from Desmonia and I was completely blown away with this new Boho ensemble for Glam Couture, which ends today. Have you ever had a friend misunderstand you so badly that it pretty much ends a friendship? While the strings that have held you together for years start to fall away, you sit, still stunned, because you never had any intention of hurting their feelings? I may be a weaver of words, but when things become emotional I become mute, especially when I have upset someone unintentionally. After a couple of months I have come to realize that not everyone, even those you thought were closest to you, will understand you all the time. We all get caught up in our own worlds and have a tendency to not step outside the box and do "others" thinking, as I call it. You have to identify the situation someone is in before you judge, and see it from the point of view of the person you have an issue with, but this rarely happens, and it's sad when assumptions become the rule not the exception. When all has been said and done and you are at peace with your side of things, all you can do is wait and see what the future holds and hope for the best because friendships are worth saving, not losing over a misunderstanding.

Chess like kings and queens above all - Virtual Diva

I am feeling a bit feisty today, and I am not quite sure why, other than the weather has once again turned towards Spring and I am looking quite forward to it's rather late arrival. The garden has been planted for a bit now with the more resilient plants and next week all the baby plants in the kitchen window get to find their way into the soil, but not before the fence is finished so the rabbits can stop running off with my baby Rhubarb and Swiss Chard! And of course as the temperatures rise we have a tendency to shed layers and start revealing more skin, and if you are looking for an ensemble that goes from the runway to the beach then look no further than this amazing ensemble from Virtual Diva, currently at Swank!

The Delirium ensemble comes with the headpiece add-on and the hip flowers as well as the daring swimsuit that reveals just enough, but not very much! I loved the fit on this suit especially as I walked and posed and it didn't break or stretch the wrong way, but be careful when posing the hip pieces might need to be moved. The textures are wonderfully done on the roses and I love the edgy, Summer runway feel of this ensemble, and I am hoping you all do too, because this seriously needs to make its way into your closet!

Lately I have fallen in love with Nanika tattoos, and this has to be my favorite! I picked it up a couple months ago but make sure to check out current events for other amazing pieces, I know I will be grabbing them as soon as my wallet can afford it! Lately I have been starting to walk/hike again and it seems that everyday I want to be outside more and more, making my journeys longer, which has me feeling better than I have in months. The desire for fluffy green grass and flowers has translated to a complete transformation of my land, including a completely empty home, since it seems I have no desire to be inside on SL as well as in my RL, but it does happen to give me a space to take photos, and that makes me quite happy!
