The sun is setting on Rock Your Rack

Today marks the last day of Rock Your Rack which means you only have about 8 more hours to get over and grab some amazing items, at fantastic prices all for an amazing cause!  This is the 4th Annual Rock Your Rack, presented by Models Giving Back, with a portion of all sales going to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation.  With tons of designers offering at least two items, as well as a 10L hunt, you are sure to find some things that just jump off the hangers and into your closet!  For my final post I did something a bit different, but I got a bit behind this past week with the net being hit or miss, so to make sure I get attention to as many creators as I can, I am featuring two and their releases for the event!

This adorable Romper is exclusively available at the event from Chobani and comes in a variety of colors with matching vine accent heels.  The fit is fantastic and I just LOVE these shoes!  Toss on a long cardigan and this goes from warm sunny days, to the cool Autumn nights, making it a perfect addition to your closet!  But I haven't found many things for the event that don't need to be in your closet, or that aren't incredibly versatile, and I don't know about you, but I love shopping for a cause, because there is no guilt later!  Which means you need to check out all the items available until tonight, including this stunning new ensemble from WICKED, also an exclusive to Rock Your Rack.

The Peyton ensemble comes complete with jewelry, boots, jacket and dress, meaning you don't have to go digging through your inventory to find things to mix and match together when in a hurry, instead you can toss on this outfit and off you go to whatever your next adventure is on the grid.  I absolutely adore these stiletto booties and how they compliment the outfit perfectly, considering that most times I HATE boots with skirts, but these happen to be a great accent and a MUST HAVE this Fall so HURRY to Rock Your Rack, you won't be disappointed, unless of course you let the night slip by without a stop by the event!

About the National Breast Cancer Foundation

The National Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor, Janelle Hail.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1980 at the age of 34.  At the time of her diagnosis, there was little information about the disease, and she was forced to make a decision about her health with few options.  After her treatment, Janelle made a commitment to help women around the world by educating them about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.  NBCF’s mission is to save lives through early detection and to provide mammograms for those in need.  This mission includes increasing awareness through education, providing diagnostic breast care services for those in need, and providing nurturing support services.

"If you need me, I'll be where my reputation don't precede me."

The last couple of days have had me cursing the internet and twiddling my thumbs with constant little blue spinny circles on my screen, meaning I didn't quite get done what I needed to yesterday since it literally took me 6 hours to take a photo!  I did manage to finish the art work and get all my links together before time ran out and I had to scamper off for the night with the family, which meant I got to talk to my significant other about the song I happened to want to use for my post, which has absolutely nothing to do with us.  I love the song, and it fits quite well with my newest ensemble brought to you from Zanze, currently exclusively available at the 4th Annual Rock Your Rack event.  So grab your favorite vice, sit back and have a read, a listen and get inspired to do some shopping for charity.

Vice
Sting of the needle dropping on a vinyl
Neon singer with a jukebox title full of heartbreak
33, 45, 78
When it hurts this good you gotta play it twice
Another vice

All dressed up in a pretty black label
Sweet salvation on a dining room table
Waiting on me
Where the numb meets the lonely

It's gone before it ever melts the ice
Another vice

Another call, another bed I shouldn't crawl out of
At 7 AM with shoes in my hand
Said I wouldn't do it, but I did it again
And I know I'll be back tomorrow night, oh

I'll wear a town like a leather jacket
When the new wears off, I don't even pack it
If you need me
I'll be where my reputation don't precede me

Maybe I'm addicted to goodbyes
Another vice

Another town, where my past can't run me down
Another life, another call, another bed I shouldn't crawl out of
At 7AM with shoes in my hand
Said I wouldn't do it, but I did it again
And I know I'll be gone tomorrow night
Mmm, another vice

Standing at the sink not looking in the mirror
Don't know where I am or how I got here
Well the only thing that I know how to find
Is another vice

I absolutely adore this tied bottom tank top and skinny jeans from Zanze.  The jeans come in 2 shade packs and you will be amazed at the number of color choices on the tank top that mix and match with the jeans flawlessly.  Both pieces come in standard sizes as well as those for Mesh bodies, meaning you will find your perfect fit every time.  A portion of each sale goes to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation meaning you get to pick up some wonderful items as well as help women in need get access to affordable screening and treatment of breast cancer.

Feeling a bit retro 80's @ Rock Your Rack

I felt so incredibly honored when I was chosen to blog for Rock Your Rack 2016, presented by Models Giving Back, benefiting the National Breast Cancer Foundation, that when I was suddenly hit with a Cancer scare of my own I was devastated at the thought I might not be able to continue with my commitment.  But being the positive person that I am, I didn't let anyone know hoping things would turn out fine in the end.  Yesterday morning I got the best news I could right now, Cancer free, and I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders.  Not to mention that yesterday afternoon I locked my keys and garage door opener in my old home and said goodbye leaving behind a lot of bad memories and ready for my life to start completely without being financially strapped by living in two places.  With a bit of a spring in my step I jumped online today to dive into more goodies from Rock Your Rack and there might have been a little squeal that escaped from my lips as I saw the names of the ensembles from Mirror Mirror, taking me straight back to the 80's and the days of worrying about nothing more than how my hair looked, and that my grades stayed high so I could go to the big party over the weekend.  I remember when Some Kind of Wonderful came out and I went with all my friends to go see it in theaters and almost getting kicked out for being too loud, and with a host of other movies, will remain one of my favorites because of the memories of days gone by it brings to the forefront!  So I just had to run off and find a retro arcade and a jukebox and spend some time bebopping around the office with what seem like long lost friends.

Every designer involved in the event has a 50% Donation item, a 100% Donation item, and a Hunt item as well.  Today I am showing off Mirror Mirror's Exclusive for the event, Some Kind of Wonderful comes in 4 different color combinations, meaning I am sure you will find a favorite!  The pants are to die for with intricate laced detailing along the pants and they fit great too!  The top and pants come in the standard sizing but I didn't have to do much to make my Maitreya body fit, which we all know makes me happy!  So as you head over to check out the event make sure to stop by Mirror Mirror's booth and check out all the fantastic designs offered exclusively for the event!  And while there, go check out Semi-Precious.  One of the things I love about blogging events like Rock Your Rack, is that I am exposed to designers I haven't come across before, like Semi-Precious, and I am just blown away by the quality of design and incredible attention to detail.  The Jessica collection is absolutely gorgeous and comes in 3 different metal colors as well as a number of color HUD's to choose from making it an incredibly versatile piece that just HAS to make it into your jewelry box!

Feeling fierce and fabulous

If something could go wrong today, it did, and at the same time, I had a run of good luck, as well.  Which means this day has just been all together one very weird day.  But as the day is starting to wind down, and I am beginning to decompress, and looking forward to sitting by the fire, I realize I am in a much better mood than I have been lately and I am actually feeling fierce and fabulous.  Which, in my opinion, is how people should feel all the time, but as well all know, that isn't always the case.  Life has a tendency to bog us down and make us feel heavy with the weight of our world resting on our shoulders.  Notice I said "our" world, that's because everyone has their own universe they live in, while sharing the same space.  The stressors I have today, are not the ones I had three weeks ago, and they are probably not the same ones you are facing in your own life today, so everyone, at some point, feels the weight of their world, and the shoulders begin to slump, the eyes lose their dazzle and people lose their shine.  You would think on the day I had to once again have the Cancer antibody test that I would be feeling down, but I'm not.  Maybe because I know a negative attitude is as powerful as a positive one, and I cannot allow myself to wallow in the world of what ifs, no one can actually.  No matter what it is you have already faced, and no matter what troubles come your way in the future, there is nothing that cannot be handled one day at a time.  Truly think about that for a moment, and all the things you have gone through in your life, and KNOW in your soul that taking baby steps, day by day is the only way to get through the tough times, and maybe putting on a mask of fierce and fabulous, because I believe firmly in the idea that what you show on the outside, reflects to the inside, so fake it until you make it and strut through the hardest of days and nights like a model on a runway!

Speaking of models, tomorrow marks the big day for the start of the 4th Annual Rock Your Rack, presented by Models Giving Back, to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation!  Breast cancer is one of the leading health crises for women. 1 in 8 women, and an every increasing percentage of men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. I just had to give you all a preview of one of the absolutely stunning ensembles Maci has released for the event.  The Tonia outfit comes complete with jewelry, dress and shoes, meaning you don't have to go hunting around for the perfect bling or shoes for this sexy little tank dress.  The dress is wonderfully made with a great attention to detail and comes in this fantastic monochromatic color scheme, which means you are sure to draw the eyes of those around you at your next event.  So do yourself a favor and make some time to head on over to the event, you won't be disappointed.  Also check out Rock Your Rack's website for the current listings of live performers, fashion shows and more so you too can be a big part of raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, together we can make a difference!

About Models Giving Back

Models Giving Back is an agency of professional, certified SecondLife models who give of their time and talents to raise funds for legitimate and verified SL and RL charities.

Models Giving Back was founded in October of 2012 by Jamee Sandalwood after a previous agency dedicated to charity work was forced to close due to the owner leaving SecondLife.  Jamee felt the work that was being done needed to be continued and set out to lead the models that were already a part of the former agency into new and bigger endeavors at the newly created Models Giving Back.

To date the agency has partnered with dozens of designers and provided models for runway, print and other functions that support charities around SL.

Rock Your Rack is the creation of Jamee Sandalwood and is owned exclusively by Models Giving Back in SecondLife.
