Since Fall seems to have skipped over northern Arizona, my mind has been drifting back home to the southern Midwest, where I fell in love with Autumn.  The sun filled days, with a bit of a soft breeze on the air that happens to have a bit more of a chill in it than August; the Oaks, Maples, and Sycamore trees in a color battle, creating a multi-hued landscape of yellows, oranges and crimson; the smell of the last Honeysuckle on the vines; bonfires at night, where sweatshirts and jeans are enough to keep out the crisp, Fall, evening air; and roasted peanuts to keep your fingers warm as you watch the Friday night football game.  Though Flagstaff has become home, and I am finally living a bit like the country girl I truly am, I still miss the boondocks were I came from, and the slow Mississippi that made me.

I don't want to settle for good not great. Featuring Hudson's, Desmonia, and Powder Pack

Making relationships last takes a lot of work on both parts. But it's that commitment to doing the work, I think, that is the foundation for a good relationship. Even when things get bad, and the stress levels are approaching overload; when you are struggling to like each other, the commitment to making it, together, is what makes you stronger, as a couple.
