I just had to make a run to Uber this week because I had seen the preview for this dress from ::ryvolter:: and the wonderful jewelry collection from Yummy and as I got dressed today to check out my new pretties, a new box arrived from Catwa containing the "Jessie" hair, which is a brand new release in the store.  Donning the long, gorgeous curls I suddenly realized I was dressed to kill with no one to share it with tonight, except of course, all of my loyal followers!  We know I love to get a chance to show off what I am wearing when just out and about, and today it just happens to also be a sponsor!

Feeling Glamorous!

Ever have one of those moments when you put something on and suddenly you are transported somewhere else?  Whether it be in time or to an event?  When I slipped on the brand new "Marisol" dress from Bomshie, exclusively at Vogue's Arctic Blast, I was transported back to a more glamorous time.  Pick an era, 30's, 40's or 50's or today and this ensemble would fit in perfectly! 

The very classic feel of this dress, paired with Bougie's LisaKeo shoes, also a new and exclusive release at Arctic Blast, makes for fun accessorizing, as you can keep it modern or take it back a little.  Which, I decided to do a bit of both!  If you follow my blog, I rarely wear appliers, other than my Slink hands and feet, but I just thought this dress looked even more amazing when I put my Lolas on!  Makes for a hell of a profile to the dress, wouldn't you agree?

Having picked up the stole for an earlier photo shoot, I decided it would go quite nicely with this dress and I just LOVE how the whole thing turned out.  Did you see that GORGEOUS hair from Catwa?!  The vintage-esque sweeping long hair frames the face quite nicely and lies perfectly down the back giving a wonderfully, smooth, long line.  Whether dressing up or dressing down, the "Miss Fortune" hair is a must have for everyone's closet!

Reflections

It is that time of year again.  The time where I hear your voice through the whispered wind in the trees and I see your face reflected in the puddles as strangers pass.  When missing you becomes a poignant ache that no one can fill.   The brilliant monotones of the snowy fields dotted by evergreens and Christmas lights; illuminating the landscape as trees shimmer through the windows of houses on our street.

Pulling the stole around my shoulders tighter as I stroll through your favorite field, spying upon the families snuggled tight within their bungalows.  Memories of Holidays spent together and ones we never managed to make shuffle through my head on replay as the chill deepens into my bones.  Yes, that time of year when I miss you the most, yet at the same time, I feel you the most.  Which, in the end, warms my heart, fighting the bitter cold from the inside out.  You used to tell me to go buy myself something pretty to put under the tree to myself from Mrs. Santa, well this year I couldn't wait til then to open it, or to dress up for no reason and take a late night walk among the pines, over at Jacob's Pond.

Sometimes people ask me, why I still do these things, and I always answer, "These are the reflections of my past that made me who I am."  With our son tucked tightly in his bed and the dogs sound asleep in front of the fire, I take the time to reflect, away from judging eyes with a sad smile, and warm heart because I know you are proud I didn't end up just a pretty doll, lost on a shelf.
