Blinded by your love and bound to you. - Style Personalities Part V

Today marks the second last day of .PENUMBRA.'s AW16 Fashion Week and it happens to be the fifth and final article on Style Personalities. Before discussing the last personality, I wanted to do a small re-cap as a reference guide, so all the information ends up in one place.

Five Style Personalities

Natural
- loves comfort and function over fashion
- neutral color palette
- natural fabrics
- very few, if any prints
- minimalism at its best
- small, effective, efficient jewelry
- simplicity and function over fad

Dramatic
- makes a statement every time she gets dressed
- bold, geometric and abstract prints
- lots of contrast
- crisp, clean lines
- extreme cuts
- large, often distracting accessories

Gamine
- childlike innocence and appeal
- youthful and neat in appearance, no matter the age
- whimsical nature keeps her from being too serious
- straight lines that hug and enhance her body, without being tight
- tiny polka dots
- small, repeating, symmetrical patterns
- delicate details
- large buttons
- ensemble appropriate jewelry

Classic
- quality and good taste
- impeccably dressed at all times
- timeless designs that flatter her figure
- Classic pearls and small, jewelry that can be mixed and matched
- Simple, yet classy
- Nothing overbearing or distracting

Romantic
- the true "girly-girl"
- soft, feminine and alluring
- embraces her femininty
- comfortable with her sexual power
- soft colors
- lover of beautiful things
- light, soft materials that drape and hug the body
- jewelry is often vintage with intricate designs

Though not comfortable in lace and lots of frills, due to my Classic side, I am very familiar with the Romantic Style Personality, as it is what makes up the majority of my closet.

The Romantic woman loves being a woman, meaning she is very aware of her sexual power and loves to flaunt her femininity without being over the top or slutty. Most Romantics have an hourglass figure and absolutely love their curves and wearing materials that hug and drape the body. This woman is most comfortable in exquisitely soft materials like silk, chiffon and jersey, that feel good against the skin and fit the female form like a glove. Her wardrobe is mostly made up of dresses skirts and tops with very few pairs of pants and very rarely a pair of jeans. Pants are often an evil necessity for the Romantic, but you can always bet they have some sort of extra detailing on them to soften them up a bit. Her mannerisms, her hair, everything about her will radiate womanhood and people are often drawn to that, not just the curves!

I wandered outside my assigned group today because I had to show off this stunning gown from POSH Pixels, but also because it happened to fit quite nicely with the Romantic theme of the day. The Blind Love gown comes complete with mask, jewelry and gown, in a lovely soft pink and mauve combination that is sure to knock your socks off! I had to be a bit careful with posing for this photo because in true Romantic fashion you can see a hint of a nipple behind the gorgeous floral top piece, which mean you are sure to captivate that special someone at your next formal event! From top to bottom this ensemble is exquisitely crafted and highly detailed, making it an incredibly valuable pieced to add to your closet before the event ends and it disappears into the ether that is Second Life! Trust me, you will fall in love!

"Living in a world gone plastic, baby you're so Classic!" MKTO - Style Personalities Part IV

I have had a wonderful time writing about Style Personalities this week and I hope you have enjoyed reading them as well. So far we have delved into three out of the five leaving Classic and Romantic left to discuss. With .PENUMBRA.'s AW16 Fashion Week coming to a close this Sunday I wanted to make sure I gave you another reason to head on over to the event, because trust me you don't want to miss out on all the current exclusive designs from your favorite creators! When I opened this gorgeous new gown from Petit Chat I was immediately struck by the truly classic lines and put together this ensemble for the day I sat down to talk about the Classic Style Personality.

The Classic woman values quality and good taste above all else, which is reflected in every single aspect of her life. She is always impeccably dressed in timeless designs that flatter her figure, accompanied by delicate accessories that she mixes and matches effortlessly between ensembles. When picturing the perfect example of the Classic woman, I always see Audrey Hepburn in my mind with her flawless bun, tiny pearl accessories, little black dress with wide heeled pumps and square handbag. I remember being mesmerized as I watched her on screen during the Saturday matinees on television and hoping to one day grow up and be able to carry off the fashions and looks she did throughout her life, on and off the screen.

The Ella Gown comes in a variety of colors with the top and bow accessories in a complimentary color. The fit is amazing and didn't break or stretch when I posed or walked, which is always a plus in my book. The textures are wonderfully hand painted and as always, the detailing is excellent, which are things you can come to expect from Petit Chat. The gown is a great example of Classic lines and design, very reminiscent of the curve hugging fashions of the 1950's, a time where fashion truly celebrated women. Accentuated by the gorgeous Delicacy collection from Atomic Faery, also an exclusive for .PENUMBRA.'s Fashion Week. The earrings and necklace have an amazing HUD with four metal colors to choose from an oodles of magnificent combinations for the jewels, I promise you will not be disappointed when you add this to your jewelry box! With only one final Style Personality to discuss, I will let everyone know I am a Classic Romantic, even though sometimes I like to try and throw in a few Dramatic accessories. For me, that is the true purpose of this series of articles, helping you to identify your own clothing personality and how to fit the latest fad or trend into your own wardrobe, whether in real life, or Second Life. As you read these articles start to think about your "go-to" ensembles that always make you feel great and see what Style Personality the fall into and begin to shop with a bit more knowledge than you had before.

She is whimsy in motion that Gamine girl - Style Personalities Part III

To say I am truly humbled by the responses to the first two installments of the Style Personality series, would be an understatement. Since I began my blog it has been my intention to not only showcase the fashion and home decor of Second Life but also to entertain and educate. In my early twenties I was a make-up artist for Prescriptives cosmetics where I gained a lot of knowledge about not just skin care, and make-up, but about color palettes, and how to put them together. Then I stumbled into an opportunity to become a Personal Shopper at Lord & Taylor where I got to learn tons about fashion, personal style, and how to dress for your body type. After a few years of learning anything and everything I could I decided to broaden my horizon further and go to beauty school to be an Aesthetician and combined my knowledge to start my own image consulting business. After the birth of my son my path in life led me far from the fashion and beauty industry, but it has always remained my first love. Ten years ago when circumstances in my life found me disabled and home, it was to fashion, color and design I ran to after discovering the world of blogging and Second Life.

Now that I have a forum where I can express myself, I feel it is actually my duty to share with people the knowledge I have garnered over the years, thus leading to the current discussion of Style Personalities. So far, we have delved into two of the five personalities and today, inspired by this adorable ensemble from B Barbie Style, I will reveal to you the world of the Gamine girl.

A Gamine is easy to spot because no matter the age she has a childlike innocence and appeal which is revealed in her mannerisms and of course, in her fashion. She is always youthful and neat in her appearance, never tugging or pulling at her clothes or worrying about how they fit. The Gamine girl is always on the go with a lightness in her step and though often more on the quiet side, her whimsical style keep her from every being too serious. She prefers straight lines that hug and enhance her figure without ever being too tight, or too revealing. Anything loud, bright, large, dramatic, bold or frilly will undoubtedly overwhelm the quiet, understated beauty of the Gamine. If there are any patterns in her closet they should be tiny polka dots and small, repeating, symmetrical textures that are enhanced with delicate details and large buttons with minimal jewelry.
