Christmas is right around the corner, and if you are anything like my family and I, you are NOT prepared and are still trying to find out where half the year has gone! Plans have been set and we will be going out of town for five days to spend time with my entire side of the family. Which means there will be eleven people under one roof, with three of them being 18,19 and 20 and wanting to be entertained! So movies, gaming and cards will be top on the priority list as well as watching football and EATING! We do a lot of that when we are all together, and I say "we" meaning I will be doing most of the cooking, so everyone can keep eating! LOL We are a loud, sometimes obnoxious, and a tad bit odd crew but it works, for the most part. With my mind turned towards the holidays and what we are doing, I was delighted to get to put together this adorable scene with new goodies from Bee Designs!
The build, the lights and all the little decor items are absolutely perfect and set the scene for an amazing holiday season, that can become your Christmas abode! And HURRY if you want to get your hands on these adorable new Teddy Bears, also from Bee Designs, before they run away from Cosmopolitan soon! All of the scene comes in Gachas, either at Shiny Shabby or Cosmopolitan, so make sure to bring your wallet, you won't be disappointed, but you might be broke!

I have so much to say, and so many things to catch you all up on, and yet again, I have ZERO time to do that! So I will keep it short and sweet! It is my favorite time of year with the glorious colors adorning the trees and bushes all around the high country of Arizona, the smell of the wood stoves coming to life again, and the wonderful scents that happen to fill the air. And of course, right around the corner is Halloween, which means Bee Designs has been busy creating all kinds of adorably spooky goodies for your festive events, or just to celebrate the Fall! Today I am showing off the wonderful Cottage from the Happy Fall Y'all Gacha @Shiny Shabby, which happens to be the Rare and the entire Fun Halloween Gacha @Gacha Guardians.
Each item in the Fun Halloween Gacha is expertly designed, with great textures that need to be included in any holiday decorating! I love the attention to detail on the pieces, especially the spiders I have dancing up almost every wall in my SL home right now. If you are having a party, or in need of great Halloween decorations for a post, then head on over to Gacha Guardians today and grab the goodies from the Gacha machine as well as the cute collection at Shiny Shabby!

Normally when the sun sinks into the sky a little bit earlier and the leaves begin to change I am exhilarated and invigorated, this year however is an exception! Since the Equinox here in the mountains of Arizona the nights have started to dip below freezing, my garden is officially trashed and waiting to be tilled under, and it does not feel like September, more like the last weeks of October or the start of November. I woke up this morning to a low lying haze around our area from all the fireplaces and wood stoves that were kicked into high gear, and chilled to the bone because we were NOT one of the ones ready for the thermometer to go plunging below freezing last night. By the time I headed out this morning at 10:30 am, the house had managed to creep into the low 60's and my dogs were huddled together with a look of confusion on their faces, since just the other day it was in the high 70's. Needing to warm my core a bit I decided to log on and set up this amazing cottage and decor collection, perfect for any time of year, from Bee Designs along with the newest flowers from Kaerri.
I absolutely love all the little details in the Happy Fall Y'all gacha collection from Bee Designs, currently available at Shiny Shabby. The cottage is the perfect sized addition to your land if looking for a quaint place to relax and unwind. The cottage is complete with creeping ivy, sunflowers and a gorgeous little tree adorned in the colors of the season. The cottage is a RARE in the gacha where you can pick up almost all the other decor pictured here, other than the flower collections from Kaerri, available at the 68 Main event. Every piece in the gacha is incredibly well made with the colors blending well together as well as the textures and each item would go great in your Fall garden or on your front porch, so hurry by Shiny Shabby and grab some pieces today, or grab them all! And if you have been waiting for Kaerri to release more incredible floral decorations then hurry by 68 Main before it ends and check out the GORGEOUS new collection, exclusives to the event. Whether inside the house or out in the yard, each one of these should find their way into your home today, you won't be disappointed.
For the first time in all my years online I have a real life boyfriend who happens to be incredibly supportive of what I do, which I am truly thankful for but lately, with it being Summer, my posts find me with far less clothes on than normal and today I had, in my opinion, a rather amusing conversation. As I sat down to do my post for the day, I showed him the photos I had already set up and asked his opinion on which one I should do first. I chose to do a furniture post, but in the grouping of photos happens to be another bikini and tattoos picture. Out of the mouth of my oh so supportive man suddenly came the following, "Why do you have to wear so little in what seems like ALL your posts? Do you always have to be half naked?" To which I responded with a few minutes of hysterical laughter, but the look on his face said he wasn't really kidding. I had to take a step back for a moment and consider his position on the matter, and I still find it amusing. Now maybe this is because I see "Jade" as an entity outside myself, a character I have created who happens to resemble me a tiny bit in my younger years, and who happens to share my personality simply because I have chosen to just be me, not a persona online; or maybe it's simply because I have been online for so many years and have gotten desensitized to what I do, I'm really not sure, but I have a hard time taking him seriously. And I don't want to belittle his feelings on the matter, I am truly trying to see his point of view, but on this I think we will end up having to agree to disagree. Being a blogger is different than just running around the grid half naked and role playing with people in say strip clubs or music venues, etc, there is rarely an exchange between people unless you happen to be doing a couples pose or something along those lines, so I don't think it crosses any real or imagined relationship boundaries. But if my partner does, how far do I bend in my work to keep him from feeling the way he is at the moment? I am a firm believer in bending in relationships, as it allows each person to still have what they want, to a certain extent and one person doesn't feel like they are always compromising while the other stands steadfast in their resolve. So I went through my blog and my photos and showed him that I very rarely tiptoe into waters that make my blog have more than a PG-13 rating, and he was much happier. I have a feeling he thought my blog was bordering on too risque for him, and with us both having an online presence, just in different ways, he felt that would be crossing a bit of a boundary for him. And when you are in love, if your partner feels like a boundary could be crossed or has been crossed in their eyes, then you have inflicted damage that will take a long time to heal. But if you discuss those moments rationally when you don't see eye to eye it's amazing how much you discover about each other, because no one loves the same, which is why love is so intricately and infinitely beautiful.
I very rarely go nuts over a gacha, ok, I lie, but seriously, there aren't that many I will play until I have all the pieces, and FoxesTraveling Heart gacha currently at The Epiphany saw me playing until I had everything, then I went home, unpacked all my extras, got my points and scampered on back to pick up the exclusive. Which is now set up on the back part of my property because I absolutely adore every piece, and I love how well they mix with some of my other well loved boho pieces, including the new pillows from unKindness that you can pick up at the current round of Shiny Shabby.
If you happen to be a lover of the boho culture and design do yourself a favor and check out The Epiphany and Shiny Shabby's current rounds because I promise you will find all kinds of goodies to decorate your secluded relaxation spot or trendy boho home.

Not quite sure what has me reminiscing today, but I have been thinking about the years I spent traveling back and forth between Phoenix and Huntington Beach, California back in the mid-90's. I met a lot of interesting people and had a lot of fun, though there was a lot of pain in my life. After all these years I can look back fondly, instead of seeing only the painful things, and it's a lot like looking at old photographs; the memory remains but the raw emotions have now faded leaving only a dusty imprint on my soul. For some people, this never seems to happen, and I wish there was a magic switch to flip to reveal to them the lessons they learned instead of them becoming a slave to the pain of the past. But I guess that is part of what makes us all so very different from each other, and I wouldn't change that for the world. Since I seem to communicate better through music than I do verbally, at time, I recently shared a song with my son that touched on this exact topic and decided to use it today for my post so I could share this sentiment with all of you. Every moment of your life, no matter how hard it may be, is just a passing moment. When things seem a bit too rough, and you have lost even a pinpoint of light at the end of the tunnel, remind yourself that this too shall pass, and that sun will rise again tomorrow bringing with it a whole new light and new perspective. These days will go by just like those magical moments you wished would never end, but the photographs in your mind will always take you back, if you want to look.
If you read my earlier post today then you know I have fallen in love with this adorable new dress from POSH Pixels, currently available at Swank, unless they have closed up shop for the month, then check the main store, I have provided both links below. The Hair Fair 2016 is in full swing which means you just have to head on over as soon as you can to pick up some fantastic new creations as well as donate to a good cause since a percentage of every sale goes to benefit Wigs for Kids. I fell in love with this hair from ICONIC as soon as I set my eyes on it and well I haven't taken it off unless having to do a post! It lies wonderfully over the breasts and along the back without breaking, which is always a plus in my book. So head on over NOW, you won't be disappointed!
I am so excited to announce that unKindness is in this round of Shiny Shabby with fabulous new pillows and benches all in the classic boho styling which is the main influence for this round of the event! The benches come in 3 different color combinations and the pillows come in Boho and Shabby, which I think work perfectly together in my little retreat at home. The textures and color combinations are to die for and the more pillows the better, in my opinion, so hurry on over and grab yours today! Peeking down from the ceiling is something I picked up at The Epiphany that I adore! Foxes gacha has all kinds of goodies for your home as well as a Rare cottage in Dark as well as the special exclusive being the cottage in Light, with every piece in the gacha available in light and dark so you can furnish each one! Poke me in-world if you are looking for any pieces of this, I will gladly negotiate, as I have a couple of the Rare Starlights pictured here, as I am sure they would make a great addition to your home today!

I remember distinctly the chill in the air, the tiny, cold snowflakes dotting our faces as we strolled arm in arm along the Seine that December over 20 years ago. Seems like just yesterday in so many ways. I can recall the conversations we had; the plans we made; the dreams we found in quaint bistros and cozy cafés with wine and the murmur of a foreign tongue all around us. We were so young and innocent then with dreams filling our heads and no worries or cares in the world. Funny how life has a way of happening and changing the landscape; forever changing our perspective on the world. Now I walk these same streets with my hands buried deep in my pockets, a little over 20 years later and the chill seems to sink deeper into my bones. But Paris will always hold our memories and be a monument to love and hope in my soul, no matter what darkness seeped through our doorways once back home. We stood in a small graveyard off an unknown street and whispered about the people who were buried there once upon a time. After wandering the rows I found the grave I was looking for and placed a single rose for him, his family, for you, for our family, with a wish that hope and dreams never die, because only people do that.

I specifically went wandering on the grid looking for a beautiful, old city to take photos in, but I hadn't planned on it being Paris when I first started, until I stumbled on an absolutely STUNNING sim of Paris.Paris Je T'Aimeis a wonderfully picturesque city with little shops and cafés dotted through out the landscape with lots of places to spend some time with that special someone, or if you just want to get lost for awhile. Stop by today and let them know what you think, I know I fell in LOVE!

I have been in a rather contemplative mood recently and tonight I thought I would share with you a few thoughts about happiness. As we get older I think true happiness becomes the highest goal, no matter the form it comes in. Life can be hard, and when you have been on this earth over 40 years you begin to put thing in perspective. Passion, lust, great sex, those are all fantastic things, but if you can't find true friendship, and happiness in those connections, then what is the point? It's hard to live without regret, or without looking to the past but that won't bring you happiness, but looking for it won't either. It is an elusive thing that when you are touched by it, you should grab a hold and don't let go, enjoying the ride. Recently, I have come to understand what this truly means as I am confronted with someone from my past who I hope has changed as much as I have, and who I think might be looking to grab hold of a little happiness for a while just like me.
I have been overwhelmed since The Gacha Garden started with things I want to show you and yet at the same time I have so many obligations to fulfill before I get uber busy with the kick off of the Relay for Life Home and Garden Expo that I decided the best way to do this was to combine posts! NoName has two fantastic new boot releases in the main store, one with wrinkles and one without and I used them as a reason to pick up this adorable ensemble from Asia Rae at Shiny Shabby, and then started posing in my new little attic bar, compliments of Kei!

Have a wonderfully wicked rest of your Saturday night, or your Sunday if you happen to be on the other side of the world from me, and remember to always stay true to your style and make today's trends in fashion and décor work for you!
I only have two and a half rooms in my house left to decorate and one of them happens to be the bathroom, which means when I saw this amazing new set from Zerkalo at the current round of FaMESHed I rushed right over and grabbed what I needed! Between that stop, The Gacha Garden and Shiny Shabby I think I might finally be done with the house, other than the kitchen, which really only needs, a sink and maybe another cabinet. People don't realize sometimes how long it can take to design or set up a scene, so for a little bit of a diversion during the interior design stage I headed up to my platform to check out some of my newest goodies from WE LOVE TO BLOG. When I hit "apply" on the HUD from Lushish Catz for the 7 Deadly Sin - Vanity set the entire post came together and a mood came over me a bit. Recently, that one person who can always make me shiver with only his words has dropped back into my life and he has me quite distracted, so I have set the scene and I doubt it will take him very long to figure out what that certain something is on my mind.
Skin
The mood is set,
So you already know what's next.
TV on blast,
Turn it down,
Turn it down.
Don't want it to clash,
When my body's screaming out now.
I know you hearin' it,
You got me moaning now.
I got a secret that I wanna show you, oh.
I got a secrets imma drop em to the floor, oh.
No teasing,
You waited long enough.
Go deep,
Imma throw it at ya,
Can you catch it?
Don't hold back,
You know I like it rough.
Know I'm feeling ya, huh.
Know you liking it, huh.

The day I saw the preview for The Gacha Garden from *YS&YS* I knew once again that I would be grabbing everything I could from that machine, just like the last round. So when I got my early access skipped over happily and began the rapid depletion of funds which always seems to happen when I am there! Once again I ended up picking up all kinds of things for my home, but with a move to a bigger parcel soon, I will now have the room to decorate as I like. I realized, as I picked up another set of what would be considered vintage or shabby chic, why I love these pieces. They look well loved. I grew up in a home where the furniture ended up becoming mine and that is what I love about every piece. Life happened in rooms that were well loved. The scratches and small tears in the leather chairs and sofa from moments from my youth; the stain on the wood table from where my Mom's coffee cup always sat; and the missing piece of glass in the china cabinet from a far too rambunctious night in my teens; all marks of a home where life happened in a well loved room.

I truly believe that every person dreams of traveling to far off places, no matter if they rest their heads on a quiet street in a tiny town no one has ever heard of, or on the busiest street in New York, Los Angeles, London, or Tokyo. Just the idea of being somewhere new, where you gain a bit of anonymity intrigues me and even though I have traveled the world, it has been many years since I have headed off with no destination in mind, parenthood will do that to you after all. But I still dream of places I haven't been, and of places that hold memories, and one day I hope to head out again with the sole purpose of getting lost.
A journey, after all, neither begins in the instant we set out, nor ends when we have reached our door step once again. It starts much earlier and is really never over, because the film of memory continues running on inside of us long after we have come to a physical standstill. Indeed, there exists something like a contagion of travel, and the disease is essentially incurable.
― Ryszard Kapuściński, Travels with Herodotus
But don't get lost on the grid right now, not with all the fantastic events still running and the ones soon to begin. I have spent some time at Shiny Shabby and The Epiphany over the last week which has ended up with me being happily broke, but they are well worth the trip! If you are looking for some new pieces for your home then head on over to the events today and get your hands on some wonderful goodies!

“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”
― Terry Pratchett
"There is nothing in the world more beautiful than the forest clothed to its very hollows in snow. It is the still ecstasy of nature, wherein every spray, every blade of grass, every spire of reed, every intricacy of twig, is clad with radiance."
- William Sharp
The last couple of posts have had me behind the camera, which most of my friends know, is where I like to be from time to time; and the last month has had me out shopping quite a bit compared to other months, but not all of those purchases were for my home. I like to chat with a friend or two as I decorate scenes as it can get a bit monotonous, and the other day someone asked me why I rarely show what I wear behind the scenes; what I wear when I am just Jadey. I realized that I had tried to get into the habit of sharing what hangs out in my closet but with new sponsors, new events, etc. I had let it slide. So today I give you a little peek behind the camera again, to see what you can find me in when lounging around the house or hanging out with friends.
If you haven't become a huge fan of the Cosmopolitan Show Room then you seriously need to check it out. From home decor to the latest in high fashion you can find it all including this gorgeous new ensemble from Sweet Kajira. The Susanne outfit includes the earrings, necklace with resizer, bracelet, belt with resizer and the pantsuit and is available in a variety of colors meaning you are sure to find a favorite like I did. For lounging around the house, chilling with friends or decorating and taking pics this ensemble needs to find its way into your closet, you won't be disappointed. And whether this hair comes in a gacha like it currently does at The Epiphany, or if it had been a new release in the store, I would have beg, borrowed and stolen to get my hands on the red version. Lucky for us all I happened to get The Redheads after only two attempts, which made me giddy as I LOVE this style. The loosely gathered, front pigtails are casual yet sultry and come in the wonderful color packs always offered from Elikatira so hit up that gacha and grab yours today. Remember when thinking of your next gacha stop that The Epiphany gives "reward" points, as I like to think of them, for those pesky extras that always seem to happen when dealing with gachas, so check out all the info on the boards when you load and happy shopping!
I am going to plop down in a chair over at my house now and return to being behind the camera at least for another post of two. Have a wonderfully wicked rest of your day and remember to always stay true to your style and make today's fashion trends work for you!
If the walls could talk in a young girl's bedroom oh the stories they would have to tell. Imagine the girl whose father put up a ballet bar when she put on her first pair of toe shoes with dreams of the Paris Ballet. The hours spent practicing and dreaming as she thumbs through post cards from France, or reads her books or studying every move of the Prima Ballerina of her time all witnessed by the walls of her room. Every where you peek inside this private space a piece of her dreams is revealed by the knick knacks around the room and most obviously by the practice bar that seems to be the center of her world. The blood, sweat and tears from all the hard work paving the way to her dreams. That is after all, the lesson learned as we enter adulthood, hard work is the key to everything, especially when reaching for the stars! Stop wishing and hoping your dreams come true, and put a little effort in, the rewards will be well worth your blood, sweat and tears.
I don't know if it's just the time of year but so many places are looking for Home and Garden bloggers that I have spent the past few days busy filling out applications and checking out stores. Along the way I discovered a few new places to shop and kept seeing new items at events, mostly Lost & Found. There isn't a word in the English language that I know of to describe the amount of cuteness at this round of Lost & Found and I just broke the bank on my latest visit. The adorable vintage drawer décor set featured here is the newest creation from the minds at unKindness and comes with the lamp, drawer seat, drawer pillow storage, and two stacks of pillows, one with lace and one without. This collection can only be picked up at the current round of Lost & Found which is where you can also find the vintage heater and radio which are two of my favorite additions to the house right now. They are both perfect for the shabby chic look that I love as well as able to fit in with most décors with the numerous colors available, so go grab yours today! I recently heard about a new home décor store called Knick Knacks and I wandered by the store at the Cosmopolitan Mall, checked out the flickr photos, and ended up at Shiny Shabby JUST to see what I could collect from the Rappelle toi de Paris gacha at the event. Though after quite a bit of linden I still didn't pick up a rare, I was excited to get my hands on a couple Uncommon pieces, which made my heart happy. Ever since my first trip to Paris when I was just 18 I have wanted to return, and at points in my life the idea of running away there has crossed my mind, so this room has a special place in my heart as I think my dreams of Paris are becoming to high to reach, but that is what dreams are after all, the star just out of our reach, so I think I might just grab a ladder!

In case you hadn't figured it out by now, I am truly a romantic at heart. I work and do most of my socializing online due to health issues, yet part of me longs for the days of true courtship in not just long distance relationships, but in all. I like the idea of letters in the mail, flowers, inexpensive gifts that say, "I'm thinking about you," all the acts of courting a mate. Many would say emails and texts of today carry much of the same appeal, but they have removed the anticipation, which is at the heart of romance for me. The waiting with bated breath when you know they are going to phone; the skipping of the heart at the end of a date with the anticipation of a kiss; or as it used to be, the flutter in the pit of the stomach as you race down the drive to the mailbox, stopping a moment to take a deep breath before peering inside, hoping, praying for a new letter. Thinking of all the couples who spent weeks, sometimes months, and dreadfully sometimes, years apart completely dedicated to one another, with that love maintained only by putting ink to paper and the promise of a future together warms my soul. In the book Soulmates, by Thomas Moore, he discusses many things, but one of the topics is how to communicate with your soul. The simple act of putting pen to paper is the best way to truly reach your soul and discover your deepest, most intimate thoughts. This applies to letters, poems, and journals, for sometimes we need communication with just ourselves which we do when we journal. Tapping into those emotions and thoughts, transferring them to paper and into physical form brings us closer to who we truly are behind all the masks we have learned to wear. The writing of love letters is a lost art form that I believe people should practice again, and in the process maybe people will gain deeper insight into themselves and possibly learn a bit of patience and once again find their love of anticipation.
My head is swirling with all the events currently running on the grid, which means everyone is out shopping or trying to figure out what exactly they want from the events before they go so they aren't wandering around like a kid in the candy store who ends up broke halfway down the second aisle! As usual I am hear to give you more reasons to go check out FaMESHed and The Seasons Story where you can pick up all of the fabulous items featured in this post. If you happen to love the shabby chic look then you will be in heaven with all of the amazing items from unKindness at both events that inspired this post and this room. Enjoy and have a wonderfully wicked res of your day, and remember to always stay true to your style and make the trends in home decor work for you!
Today marks the start of the first annual Windlight Winter Art Show and Showcase featuring some of the best graphic artists from Second Life and creations from some of the grids best designers all to benefit the American Diabetes Association. I am very honored to have been picked to blog this amazing event and I am very proud to be a part of Team Diabetes! A Winter Showcase will of course have all kinds of goodies for you to decorate your home, and Potomac brings you a stunning, lodge pole living room design perfect for any Winter cabin or retreat this time of year.
The Rustic Holiday Living Room Set comes with a love seat, chair, end table, coffee table, floor lamp, table lamp and a sofa in a Naughty and a Nice version all at a great price with part or all of the proceeds going to Team Diabetes. I thought the Red and Gold matched this set perfectly and just had to show it off to everyone. I can imagine a wooded grove, covered in snow outside the window of a log cabin with this collection, and I hope it fits perfectly in yours this Holiday season. Most of the other goodies pictured here can be picked up at the Windlight Winter Art Show and Showcase so check the details to find all the pieces pictured above!
I have always wanted my very own fairy tale mirror with lights, and preferably a Fairy God Mother, but we know that isn't going to happen, but as luck will have it, I now have my very own Princess Mirror! I might have gotten a bit excited when I saw this mirror was going to be at The Fantasy Collective and I actually made myself wait to get it until yesterday, if you can believe it, but I was waiting for the crowds to die down and to really have time to look around. That event makes me crazy though because I have a tendency to get lost in all those winding paths and crisscrossing pathways, but when I am on a mission it doesn't matter, that mirror was going to be mine! I happened up on a few other things while I was there, which was a happy surprise as well, so check out the website for the event to grab the shopping guide and get your hands on some wonderfully whimsical items!
I was actually putting all of this together for another post when I finally connected with the wonderful Luana Barzane and got all my blogger stuff and two gorgeous new gowns for Amarelo Manga! The Nilfa Long Gown has a fantastic Teal to Gold fade from the bottom to the top that is flawless and the dress fits magnificently well without breaking or stretching as I posed and moved around. Looking for a curve hugging, cleavage baring dress for the Holiday season then make sure to head on by the store today!
I often think that nail designers don't get a lot of credit for the hard work that they do, so I am trying to make sure I include them in my posts with a close up to spotlight the incredible designs made on such a tiny platform! This release can only be found at the SL 2015 Christmas Expo right with all or part of the proceeds going to benefit Relay for Life, so you get fabulous nails AND get to donate to a wonderful cause! What could be better?!
The days are slipping away quite quickly and before we know it Christmas will be upon us. If you are like me decorating the house for the Holidays is a chore and sometimes it ends up being Christmas Eve before there is a tree up, and that's only if we are going to be staying in town. If my son and I will be away, like this year, I can promise you that there will be no tree up in my home, or decorations. I actually hate taking them down so much that I have been known to leave them up for far too long, and well, before I get called out by my friends, the tree was left up for 16 months, once upon a time. This is how much I truly hate putting up and taking down decorations. However, the hassle is far less on SL and I have been a decorating fool!!! But who wouldn't be with all the goodies from current events on the grid?! If you haven't heard, the 2015 Holiday Expo, A Frozen Christmas, a Relay for Life production opened yesterday with 4 sims to wander through and literally 100's of goodies to get your hands on, all for a wonderful cause! Park Place has three releases for the event, with two of them featured below.
