The perfect Autumn ensemble - Featuring Ashmoot, and Desmonia

If you have ever spent any time in the mountains of Arizona in the Fall, then you know how amazingly beautiful it can be, and how temperamental the weather is as well. The skies are crystal blue, with gorgeous white, fluffy clouds and the temperatures rise into the 70's during the day, while the evenings are dotted with campfires and bonfires, the smell of smoke in the air, sweaters and temps that dive into the 30's. As you can guess, getting dressed in the morning for the rest of the day can be a bit tricky, and I have come to understand the true meaning of layering, and I find myself wishing I could get away with some of the Autumn fashions I see donning the cover of the latest fashion magazines. But thanks to Second Life, I get to do just that, and this new ensemble from Ashmoot looks like it just came out of the pages of the October issue of Vogue magazine!

From head to toe this entire outfit is incredibly well designed, textured, and the attention to detail is absolutely amazing! The oversized sweater goes perfectly over the flirty, skater styled skirt, the jewelry and glasses are expertly designed to add the perfect details, and check out this magnificent purse that comes in two styles with and without poses. I just had to take more than one photo so I could show off all the details, including the gorgeous new nails and lips from Alaskametro and the fantastic shoes and stockings, also from Ashmoot, that complete this ensemble.

All the items from Ashmoot are currently available at Designer Circle, which opened on the 15th and will run through the 28th, which means you have a little bit of time to head over and grab this ensemble for yourself. Today I don't have much to say, I am reserving another post to brag about my step son and his award he received last night and his graduation coming up this Friday, so today I am going to let this photo set the mood. I just love when a plan comes together, and this shot is a result of a carefully thought out and executed plan that completely fell apart in all the right ways, and of course triggered a song in my head as soon as the capture was taken. Spring Chic in Petit Chat and Ashmoot!

(This post was originally written on Monday, but due to a bit of an infection after oral surgery, I was unable to get it posted until today!)

I woke up this morning and while there was still sleep in my eyes I noticed a post from Powder Pack announcing the winners of their recent contest on Facebook. I immediately went to share the post, happy for those who had won, when I thought I recognized a name, MINE!! To say I was one very happy girl is the understatement of a lifetime. For bloggers, all the new Bento changes mean we are having to fork out a lot of Lindens to keep ourselves current, and heads and skin appliers quickly eat through any budget you can put yourself on; so the introduction of the Powder Pack in general, has meant more of us can show you new goodies without having to break the bank. One of the most important things I think I have learned in life is that if you compromise too much or settle for less than what you truly want you will end up needing more, if that makes sense. As most of you know, I have labeled this as the year of learning. So far, it has been full of all kinds of lessons and for the most part, I have been enjoying every minute of it. Most people don't know it, but I am a bit of a country girl at heart, which if you happen to follow me on Facebook, you would know that my new home and life have me out in the wide open spaces I love. I remember that this used to be my dream; the home on the land with lots of work to be done; animals around and kids chopping and throwing wood for the Winter. But for years, I made the decision to settle for less than I thought I wanted and definitely less than I deserved. In this year of growth I made the decision that I would rather be alone that to settle again. I was tired of just getting by and living life only half-way. I wanted spontaneity, a home, someone to grow old with who was tired of arguing and fighting and just wanted to be a team; to be able to see a future instead of a never ending dark tunnel, I wanted to be HAPPY! When I made that decision, I was quite surprised at how life rewarded me. Sometimes I find myself staring at my partner, often making him a bit uncomfortable, and I realize I memorize every line on his face, how his eyes light up, and how quickly I can make him smile because I am afraid I am going to wake up and this will have all been some long, anesthesia induced dream during neck surgery. He pinches the back of my arm lightly from time to time, and I am not sure who is making sure isn't dreaming at that moment, but it always helps us both. It's strange how that happens when you are faced with something that seems a bit too good to be true, but every once in a while, the Universe gets it right, and it is just what it seems to be, YOUR idea of perfect!

Down to the cold part

The temperature gauge in the car this morning read 6 degrees ushering in Winter before it's due date and bringing out the heavy coats, scarves, earmuffs and hoodies. With the arrival of Winter in my real life I decided to bring snow to my SL world as well and though I know it should probably make me shiver, this time of year makes me all warm and fuzzy inside as I think of family and friends that I will get to see sooner than later. As I wandered around my little parcel I decided it was a perfect time to put together a post for you all featuring new eyes from Lone Wolf Studio, an amazing new coat from Styled@random both perfect for this frost time of year and Indulge Temptation's newest release for Designer Circle 119!

The Peacoat from Styled@random comes in two styles with an amazing HUD featuring several perfect jewel tones for you to mix and match with your favorite skirts, slim pants or leggings. If you have been looking for the PERFET long, body hugging skirt then hurry on over to this round of Shiny Shabby and pick up this gorgeous skirt from PEQE. The standard sizes fit well with my mesh body and it comes in a variety of colors so you are sure to find the exact one you have been searching for! The Peacoat fits great when you move though be careful with your layers as the back of the jacket fits quite close to the frame. For example, I am wearing the medium jacket with an XS skirt to fix the skirt from breaking through. Just a note, not a flaw, just wanting everyone to know that fitting a bottom to this jacket can be a bit tricky but well worth it!

As we head into Thanksgiving week I am preoccupied with the idea of romance. I happen to be spending the Holiday with my son, parents and Mr. Practical, who seems to have gotten the message about me wanting a little bit more spontaneity in my life. With the emotionally taxing month I am having with losing my furry best friend after 12 years he has stepped up to the plate with emotional support, which is very important to me when it comes to relationships. Little gifts, calls, texts at just the right time and a desire to be with my family and I has dulled my edges and I might be a bit smitten. Romance doesn't make or break a relationships but I love the little things that keep that spark burning, even if its at a slow burn time. But I think romance is dependent upon the individuals involved and that what I find romantic may not be your definition, just like love, there can be no universally agreed upon definition because it is truly a subjective matter. Like e.e. cummings wrote in the sonnet above, love cannot be defined, it is bigger than the sun and the stars!

Come a little closer to hear me whisper

I often find during the Fall everyone seems to lose their spunk when it comes to adding color to their wardrobes. It's like by Christmas suddenly everyone is putting on bright jewel tones because they are missing the warmth, but the Fall everyone turns to muted tones to mimic the world outside. I am a firm believer that color enhances your mood. My closet on SL and in RL happens to consist of a lot of black, dark navy and well more BLACK, but I have every color of the rainbow in accent pieces, and you will find these often match my mood. With how down I have been as of late because of the imminent passing of my 12 year old Pitbull, I was excited to pull some color out of the closet today to help perk up my mood, and it helped! So take a hint from me and if you find yourself as muted as the hues and tones around you then grab something bright and bold and make a statement as you elevate your mood!

The Sinner's Hunt - Envy

When I first came back to SL, almost two years ago now, I spent a lot of my time out on hunts as I learned everything over again. But as I have gotten busier with blogging and other things I have noticed I stopped hunting. Now whether that is just because I have tons more to do now or if it's because I haven't been inspired by anything I have seen, I don't know. Goodnight Moon

In the early morning hours, now that the sun sits lower in the sky, you can often catch the sun and the moon sharing the sky. As I rose this morning such was the sight through my office window and of course I knew exactly how I was going to show off this gorgeous new lingerie set from POSH PIXELS and the tune to go with it! This stunning new ensemble is only available at the current round of Designer Circle and comes in a variety of colors via HUD, so I am sure you will find your favorite! I love the intricate lace detailing and the way it catches the light is beautiful. Since I am still riding the single train I tucked this little number away in what you could call my "Hope" chest and maybe someday I will get to feel sensual and gorgeous for someone else, not just me!

What the water gave me

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great night and woke up to face the day refreshed and are ready to head out shopping on the grid! Designer Circle opened March 1st with their 100th round which means everyone involved has brought amazing offerings, including this fabulous new swimsuit from Heydra.

The "Sephyra" suit comes in an assortment of colors and the fit is just fantastic! I loved not having to worry about my parts showing through even without an alpha, which of course makes for an easy fit. The swimsuit is only available at Designer Circle through the 14th of March for $100L and make sure to grab the gorgeous set of wings that are a gift from Heydra for the event while you are there. A stunning new swimsuit in your favorite color is a perfect way to kick off the Spring season that is lurking just around the corner!

Waiting for Superman

It is official, there is only a little over 24 hours left in February and the snow storm about to descend on the mountains of northern Arizona is bringing March in like a lion. The end of the month also marks the end of some of the rounds at Designer Circle and Feeb's Rascals Sales Room which means you don't have much time to grab these amazing new releases from Heydra!

The "Giana" dress is a dual release for the month of February in the main store and at Feeb's. The round ends tomorrow and that will be the last chance to grab these dresses for only $75L, after than they will be full price in the store. The dress comes in a wide variety of colors and are expertly detailed and textured. I love the mesh of this dress, as it didn't break as I walked around the grid.
