Peeking behind the curtain at the Carnival of Rust

A few months ago my heart sank when I read the announcement that Templemore was closing it's gates, because it was truly one of my favorite places to listen to tunes and to take blog photos.  When I saw that a Templemore had returned last month, with a new, and amazing creation you can bet I ran over to check it out.  I got lost for awhile checking out all the nooks and crannies, each decorated with a bit of magic and an incredible attention to detail.  In the main building where you can sit back and listen to music in opulent decor you will find some immaculately appointed boxes overlooking the stage and dance floor below.  As I wandered around the build I stumbled onto the back entrance, as I like to call it, to the stage, and it was very much like peeking behind a curtain into a mystical world.  I know the wonderful steampunk bird on the stage sparked the thought, and I felt a bit like I had stepped on to the set for a music video and a song's notes began to trickle through my brain and I just had to share it with you all!

The Windlight(Kultivate) Magazine's Summer Art Show kicked off on the 12th and if you haven't had a chance to head over to the event, then you really need to take some time to wander the event and check out all the absolutely marvelous creations created for this wonderful event.  TASHI brings this gorgeous, seductive to the event that comes in a variety of colors, which means you are sure to find your favorite, and trust me you will turn the heads of just about everyone near you with this jaw dropping neckline, which happens to continue to the back giving it quite an alluring view from any direction, which is always important when looking to WOW someone!  I have also fallen in love with the new hair release for FaMESHed from Little Bones.  The Nika hair comes in a variety of sizes and two styles, offering you a fringed version, and one without, making it very versatile and a must have addition to your wig closet, trust me you won't be disappointed!

One of the most important things I think I have learned in life is that if you compromise too much or settle for less than what you truly want you will end up needing more, if that makes sense.  As most of you know, I have labeled this as the year of learning.  So far, it has been full of all kinds of lessons and for the most part, I have been enjoying every minute of it.  Most people don't know it, but I am a bit of a country girl at heart, which if you happen to follow me on Facebook, you would know that my new home and life have me out in the wide open spaces I love.  I remember that this used to be my dream; the home on the land with lots of work to be done; animals around and kids chopping and throwing wood for the Winter.  But for years, I made the decision to settle for less than I thought I wanted and definitely less than I deserved.  In this year of growth I made the decision that I would rather be alone that to settle again.  I was tired of just getting by and living life only half-way.  I wanted spontaneity, a home, someone to grow old with who was tired of arguing and fighting and just wanted to be a team; to be able to see a future instead of a never ending dark tunnel, I wanted to be HAPPY!  When I made that decision, I was quite surprised at how life rewarded me.  Sometimes I find myself staring at my partner, often making him a bit uncomfortable, and I realize I memorize every line on his face, how his eyes light up, and how quickly I can make him smile because I am afraid I am going to wake up and this will have all been some long, anesthesia induced dream during neck surgery.  He pinches the back of my arm lightly from time to time, and I am not sure who is making sure isn't dreaming at that moment, but it always helps us both.  It's strange how that happens when you are faced with something that seems a bit too good to be true, but every once in a while, the Universe gets it right, and it is just what it seems to be, YOUR idea of perfect!

Blown away

Last night I went to bed in a pretty good mood so when this morning I woke up wanting to kill the world I was seriously surprised.  So as most of you know, indulging the mood instead of trying to hide it is part of how I function.  Music is playing with the volume turned up louder than normal with a lot of aggro songs in the current mix.  I have no clue what set me off but it is one of those days I am angry at the world, though in all reality, it's no one's fault I feel this way.  Apparently my chemicals got confused last night or I had a dream I can't remember that put me in this mood.  Though I want to be around people at the moment, I don't think I would be very socially acceptable.  I have a friend in Phoenix who used to say that I am funniest when I am bitter and ticked off, which still amuses me.  Guess it's only that way if I have not targeted you as the cause of my mood.  As the day has progressed, I have pinpointed WHO this venomous mood is directed at, but since the target in my mind I can never approach, the walls of my house will get the brunt of my anger today.  However, as I write this I have started to smile, and maybe a bit of a bitter chuckle has escaped my lips since I know that this mood is truly out of place!  For the first time in my life I am truly happy and secure in myself and perfectly content with the way my life is, which is something very new.  I am enjoying the feeling and although the path I am on now was brought about by my heart getting torn to pieces a few years ago I am thankful for that pain.  Out of pain and adversity came a strength in purpose and a dedication to myself and my soul.  All the past, like dead leaves cluttered on the forest floor just needs to be blown away.

Happy November!

Not sure about the rest of you but I am so glad Halloween has come and gone and that I can finally begin to focus on the upcoming holidays.  It's like Halloween marks that point you pack up the Summer apparel and pull the sweater boxes out from under the bed and start to dig through the closets to find your boots.  I think it is an unconscious attempt to hold onto Summer a bit longer before giving into the shorter days and surrendering to the long cold Winter.  I find it a tad peculiar that I seem to love colors in the bleak, cold days of Winter in the mountains and I happen to wear a lot less black than normal, which shocks most people since as far as I am concerned black is a full wardrobe.  But the jeweled tones of the holidays are my favorites and you can always count on me to brighten up whatever occasion I have happened out too, and TASHI has captured this perfectly with the new Chelsy release for the round of FAD which ends SOON, so make sure you head on over and pick up wonderful designs with the month of November and the deep Fall in mind!

Play me a tune

Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday!  Sorry I have been away again, but I had to listen to my back and stay in bed for a few days just to get to the point of being functional again.  The boxes are starting to pile up as are the notecard's wondering what I have been up too, so the only thing to do is get through it!  The month of August is always full of birthdays for me, with 3 family members and some of my closest friends occupying the Leo and Virgo parts of the star chart, so later this week I will be taking off for a few days to relax with the family around the pool down the Phoenix way.  Of course, before I take off I will make sure I have taken care of as many responsibilities as I can and when I return I am hoping a few days spent in the pool will help alleviate some of the back pressure so I can get back to work again!  I cannot begin to explain how much this has put a cramp in my style this Summer.  But, as the saying goes.... "Want to make God laugh?  Make a plan!"  That sums up my Summer in all reality so until my back puts me back on track, whatever plans I had for my future are on hold.  Which means I will blog when I can and as often as I can and continue to provide you all with some insight into the fashion world on Second Life.  I appreciate every single one of my readers and followers and love the feedback and support you all give me.  I never would have imagined that a little blog about fashion on SL could become something so much more.  It is a great feeling and trust me when I say that things have to be bad for me to stay away, otherwise I would probably overwhelm everyone with all of my thoughts!!!!

Puzzle Pieces
