Lady of the light gone mad with the night - Featuring Virtual Diva

So if any one was paying attention to my post at the end of last week, then you know I was looking forward to a week of getting organized for work and of doing a bit of catch up on my blogging. Well as we all know, as soon as you make plans, life happens. I have been putting on a bit of a brave face of late as I have had to ween myself off of my nerve medication, per physician instruction, since I have developed a life threatening allergy to it. If there was one medication I would tell people I couldn't live without, it would have been that one, so I have been getting to know that pain again and it has thrown me for a loop and kept me from being able to come into town to my computer. It has been years now since I have had to feel the fire of nerve pain through my body, but I am finding a new strength in looking for alternative treatments and empowering myself and once again calling pain my constant companion, my muse, but never my friend.

Today officially marks the start of Winter break for my son and I think I am more excited than he is, because it gives me time to myself next week to get organized and blog a bit more than I have been, as long as the internet cooperates. Life happens while you are making plans - Featuring Ashmoot

In the last twenty four hours our entire lives have changed as the youngest, who graduated in June, decided to leave home all of the sudden and move down to Phoenix. Most parents have a bit of notice and some time to get used to the idea of their children going to college or moving out and we are still reeling from the news while he has woken up in a new home this morning with the whole world before him. He has some health issues, so his father and I are biting our nails hoping he is mature enough to handle all the things he has to, and to take care of himself. Which I know is the worry of all parents, but when you add in needed medications, it becomes a greater stressor. But in the end this is his chance to prove something to himself, not just to us. So while we were making plans for the future of the family, life happened and now we have to regroup and see how things go before we continue with our plans. Though I am a bit fearful, at the same time I am SO excited for him! To be out in the world for the first time at 18 is a challenging and yet amazing time, especially when you are living with a friend and finding your way for the very first time. For Christmas this year the greatest gift we could get is a happy, healthy, well adjusted young man out on his own, living his dream!

For the first time I think in forever, the above part of my post has nothing to do with the photo, which just shows I write off the top of my head! This outfit has me feeling fierce, fabulous, and yes, a bit like revenge, though I'm not sure why! I have been looking for a reason to use this chair from SEUL for months now, and today was the day! Happy Monday everyone! I honestly have no idea where the last couple of months went, and I can't believe Thanksgiving is literally right around the corner. Our house is still in shambles but we had an incredibly productive weekend and the days after Thanksgiving will be spent putting in the new floor, which I am terribly excited about! Thirteen months after the leak was discovered we are getting the house together and in a few months it will be ready to be put up for sale, unless we decide to stay in Flagstaff for some odd reason. But all of this means we won't be having Thanksgiving at our house and the rest of the family doesn't cook, so a turkey dinner with all the fixings is not on the agenda this year, and I am a tad bit disappointed. I love the whole production like atmosphere of Thanksgiving, and its the only time of the year I get to make certain dishes I love, so I have a feeling we will be having our own turkey dinner at some point this month, since Christmas will be spent with the entire family, where I will be cooking lots of different things except a turkey! The truth is, I love the traditions, and the time with the family and I hate when things change, which means I am a bit out of sorts now after finalizing the plans for next week, and a quote from Oscar Wilde has danced through my head this morning more than once, after realizing what he meant. If my friends and family were asked to write down quotes from me, I have a feeling every one of them would write, "just breathe," since it happens to be my mantra. Even a sinner stops to pray from time to time - Featuring Petit Chat, Moondance Boutique and more!

Earlier this week I went for my mammogram and once again they scheduled the 3D mammogram for today, and discussions between the Radiologist and the surgeon have already started, which of course has me a little pensive. The perfect Autumn ensemble - Featuring Ashmoot, and Desmonia

If you have ever spent any time in the mountains of Arizona in the Fall, then you know how amazingly beautiful it can be, and how temperamental the weather is as well. The skies are crystal blue, with gorgeous white, fluffy clouds and the temperatures rise into the 70's during the day, while the evenings are dotted with campfires and bonfires, the smell of smoke in the air, sweaters and temps that dive into the 30's. As you can guess, getting dressed in the morning for the rest of the day can be a bit tricky, and I have come to understand the true meaning of layering, and I find myself wishing I could get away with some of the Autumn fashions I see donning the cover of the latest fashion magazines. But thanks to Second Life, I get to do just that, and this new ensemble from Ashmoot looks like it just came out of the pages of the October issue of Vogue magazine!

From head to toe this entire outfit is incredibly well designed, textured, and the attention to detail is absolutely amazing! The oversized sweater goes perfectly over the flirty, skater styled skirt, the jewelry and glasses are expertly designed to add the perfect details, and check out this magnificent purse that comes in two styles with and without poses. I just had to take more than one photo so I could show off all the details, including the gorgeous new nails and lips from Alaskametro and the fantastic shoes and stockings, also from Ashmoot, that complete this ensemble.

All the items from Ashmoot are currently available at Designer Circle, which opened on the 15th and will run through the 28th, which means you have a little bit of time to head over and grab this ensemble for yourself. In case you needed any more incentive let me give you some more details! The shoes come in 3 different colors, so you can choose to spice up this outfit even more, as well as 2 choices for the purse, and there is also a Ghost version of the sweater, a perfect choice for a casual Halloween party or to just get into the spirit of the season a little bit.

The Black Swan’s Song – Featuring Virtual Diva, Petit Chat, Truth, Uber, Swank, Dead Dollz, Project Se7en

Due to circumstances beyond my control with my health lately, I have been unable to post as much as I would have liked. As I sit here tonight with time on my hands for the first time in a bit I can't seem to come up with a witty story or anecdote. Two and a half years ago I had the scariest 29 days of my life, and it seems my body has decided to do a repeat performance of that moment in time. And though I am not as afraid as I was the first time possible Breast Cancer was mentioned, I am also finding it harder to stay positive. For the last year it has been one thing right after the other in regards to my health and I am just ready for this roller coaster to stop. So instead of trying to eek out something meaningless I am simply going to talk to you about how I fell in love with this Black Swan creature I put together, and I hope you do too!

Just in time for that most Hallowed of seasons, Virtual Diva has created this stunning Black Swan ensemble, complete with feathers, crown, skirt and appliers, as well as this GORGEOUS eye makeup applier for LeLutka! I was looking for an updo hairstyle when I stumbled across this new release from Truth currently available at Uber, which is where I went to pick up Dead Dollz Ballet outfit so I could grab the perfect toe shoes and tights, bringing the entire ensemble together. And after that I literally scampered off to FOXCITY because I remembered they had a set of sexy ballet poses recently, but I got lost and stumbled into a bunch of purchases, and I couldn't be happier! From the stunning backgrounds, to props, to amazingly detailed poses, everything is a MUST have for anyone who takes photos, so head there if you haven't become addicted yet! And because this photo wasn't enough to show off the makeup or the new cuffs from Petit Chat, I just HAD to take a close up!

Just a simple country girl at heart - Featuring Emberotic's Fashion Designs and Hudson's Clothing Company

Since Fall seems to have skipped over northern Arizona, my mind has been drifting back home to the southern Midwest, where I fell in love with Autumn. Making relationships last takes a lot of work on both parts. But it's that commitment to doing the work, I think, that is the foundation for a good relationship. Even when things get bad, and the stress levels are approaching overload; when you are struggling to like each other, the commitment to making it, together, is what makes you stronger, as a couple. Locked up tight! Featuring Petit Chat, Powder Pack and Truth

The last 24 hours have proven to be the most stressful we have had in months, but at least this time it wasn't all negative stress! Since yesterday morning we have found out I need to have heart surgery before Christmas, my son's ultrasound was inexplicably moved up to today, my other half got a job interview for today, and by the end of the day yesterday, he also had a job offer just outside Seattle, WA and we are currently in Arizona. Needless to say our heads are spinning and I'm not sure if we can tell up from down at the moment. A bit ago I wrote a post about chasing after your dreams, and now the kids are looking to us to see if we are going to follow them or watch an opportunity pass us by. We were really thinking about how he was going to move there while I stayed here with the kids, for the last one to graduate, which would have meant 9 months apart. Good news came on that front today, when they told him they would hold the job for 6 months, which has made both of us breathe a bit easier, but it sure hasn't relieved the stress associated with this decision. So if I seem a bit scattered I apologize, and I hope you can all bare with me during this interesting time in my life!

As usual I ran away to Second Life to try and zone out for a bit and let the world fall away and it worked! For just a little while I was able to concentrate on something else and I think my blood pressure has settled back down and my heart is beating normally instead of like a junior high Jazz band on the first day of school, well that was until I started this post! (LOL) But beautiful things have a habit of making me relax and this whole ensemble of new releases did just that, at least for a few minutes! I know I am a bit late in opening my Powder Pack for September, but well, now you know why! When I started going through the newest releases I was blown away by the gorgeous Autumn color palettes most designers leaned towards in this release including the GORGEOUS makeup release from Arise for the September Powder Pack for LeLutka. The eyes and lips are complimentary to each other and the appliers are fantastic with no extra lip hanging over or misplaced lines on the eyes, making it a MUST have addition to your makeup case. After all, you can have the same skin in a hundred different photos and no one will know if you have tons of makeup options, which has become the way I save money on Second Life. I sign up early so I can pay less for the Powder Pack - LeLutka release, and then switch out the makeups for different photos so I'm not running around looking for new skins every other post! "As free as birds catching the wind." Featuring Empyrean Forge, !!smesh and Desmonia

The last year and a half of my life has been like a topsy turvy whirlwind of strange ups and downs, weird health issues and LOVE. After being single for a very long time, and handling things on my own, no matter how hard, I have come to realize that it doesn't matter what life throws at you, it becomes easier when you have someone with which to share it. I had become a bit resigned to being single for the rest of my life and had no intention of getting into a relationship, but to be honest, it was the best decision I never made! My wonderful man and I were on the same page, and we were enjoying having someone to help make dinner for the boys and hanging out as friends when suddenly the universe jumped up with other plans for us. So it wasn't a decision for us, it just happened, and though there have been struggles we couldn't have even imagined, I know neither of us would change a thing. The love of the family we have created together and our commitment to each other, makes life just a little bit easier. All of this was to lead into the fact that I am not a Miley Cyrus fan, at least with what she puts out on the radio, until the recent release of "Malibu", and when I heard it through my speakers through Spotify, I was hooked. In one moment the last year and a half of my life was summed up in a song, and though my toes may not be wiggling in the sands of Malibu, the feeling is the same.

I haven't showcased the We Love to Blog group and it's multitude of designers in a post in a while, so when I unboxed these goodies I JUST had to put them together along with this gorgeous new release from Empyrean Forge! I absolutely love this new hair from Desmonia, a new release in the store. It fits perfectly with mesh heads and if you haven't checked out the colors from Desmonia, then you really need to do yourself a favor and head by the store, and while there check out all the other new releases. It has been a bit since I have picked up anything from !!smesh, I hate to admit, so when I saw a release in the We Love to Blog group I got all excited, and this dress does not disappoint. The Knitted Dress is intricately detailed and fits perfectly on Maitreya, but comes with plenty of other sizes, so I am sure you will find the perfect fit! The dress comes in a variety of colors as well, with some showing a bit more of your naughty bits because of how they show up under the knit.
