Lately I have been absolutely appalled at the body shaming and self hate that I have seen all over my Facebook page and other social media sites and I have become to question almost everything. How far we have really come as a human race when HATE seems to be the prevailing emotion? Where did the love go? When did people start teaching their children to hate instead of LOVE? The media would make you believe that body shaming is something of the past and that the definition of "fit" has changed, but with so many men and women continuing to hate their own bodies you have to wonder how much has really changed? This body you live in every day is the ONLY one you get, and whether you are carrying too much weight, have scars, stretch marks, your lips are too big, or your ears stick out, you have to learn to LOVE it and to treat it right, it will notice. A long time ago I came across a famous quote by one of my favorite Authors and Playwrights, and it resonated so deeply that I have carried it with me for years now on plaques, posters and key chains, and I wish people would remember that their first love should be themselves!

"Don't you know that Rome wasn't built in a day?" - Morcheeba

Sometimes, my energy is low, or if I am not quite feeling up to par, I will often fall back upon a song to help me through a post, which is kind of where I am today.  I haven't been feeling quite myself for over a week now, and I have a feeling this could be a long flare-up, which has a tendency to put me in a very pensive mood.  Today I am thinking about how people want perfection immediately in their relationships and how that is an unrealistic goal.  It takes time to build the foundation of a relationship, and then even more time to discover everything about each other and find your common ground on issues you won't ever see eye to eye upon.  In our automated, tin can, recycled world, everyone has gotten used to having everything right now, and delayed gratification is something most teens don't even know about today.  The old phrase, "Rome wasn't built in a day" rings true when it comes to romance and finding lasting love.  You have to work at love, and you have to build from the ground up and it's well worth the effort if you truly think you were meant to be.

I have no idea how it happened, but yesterday when I logged on I immediately attempted to get into the Gacha Garden and BOOM, first try!  Go figure!  I never have that kind of luck.  I did quite a bit of wandering and actually didn't spend much money this round, which is an unusual occurrence!  I was actually looking for two particular machines, and when I found them, I was quite happy with the results.  Glitzz's Asian themed dress and hair accessories is a MUST stop for everyone, as it doesn't matter if you get the Rare or not, every piece is gorgeous and can be mixed and matched, as you see here.  I also have fallen in love with Cae's charm bracelets that have been released at recent events, including the Sucre release for the Gacha Garden.  I got all but two charms, including the RARE, which made me a happy girl!  Analog Dog has two releases in their gacha, with the A being featured here, but make sure to grab the gifty as well, since it includes a hair and whole fatpack!!!  As usual, I love this event and the wonderful creations that are brought to the grid when the Gacha Garden comes around, so do yourself a favor and try to get in as soon as you can, you won't be disappointed!

Drop dead curves never go out of style

In case you have just started following along here then let me take a moment to let you in on a little something about my style.  On an everyday casual basis, I love the Bohemian, artistic, layered look that combines textures, colors and really different fashion "styles."  For more formal occasions and back when I used to work out in the "corporate" world, that carefree look I covet becomes much more tailored but classic.  When asked what era I think I should have been born in, I have to be honest and say the Roaring 20's, preferably in Chicago at the height of the mob.  The gorgeous curves of a woman were emphasized and embraced by the form fitting styles of the time leaving more to the imagination than by baring more skin.  This stunning dress from Glitterati by Sapphire is very classically styled with a daring, plunging, modern neckline that is sure to draw attention, and guess what?!  The dress is on sale this weekend for ONLY 60L, which means, what are you waiting for?!  If you love well made, classic, curve hugging designs at a steal then this dress needs to be in your closet today so hurry, the sale ends tomorrow!

The peaceful tranquility of Dawn

If you like to sleep late then you probably miss out on one of the most spectacular times of day in my opinion, especially in the Fall.  The frost hangs heavy on what remains of the leaves on the trees and as the Sun edges over the horizon steam rises as the beams instantly bring life to the still surroundings.  The snow has melted down here in town, but the mountains continue to be blanketed in white.  This morning as the Sun danced with its rainbow of colors I had a perfect moment of peace as I stood with my cup of coffee and let the rays warm me as they did my surroundings.  Do yourself a favor and get up early sometime, before the bitter chill of Winter sets in and enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the Dawn.

If you haven't made it to Sad November yet you don't have much time, literally only a few hours before the doors will close and the vendors will be taken down which means you will miss out on these amazing lipsticks from Alaskametro!  The Angel set comes for your favorite mesh heads as well as Standard Layers as I am wearing here.  After today check the MP as Alaskametro is only available on the MP or at events!
