Ready for the Tea Party?!

Last few hours to shop Solaris Fashion Week AW15

Tomorrow, October 24th marks the closing day of Solaris Fashion Week's retail area which means you only have today to check out the amazing venue and all of the fantastic releases from over 70 of the hottest designers on the grid.  In case you missed the fashion shows last week then you didn't get to pick up the grab bags from all the featured designers but lucky for you they are available in the individual stores until the doors close.  Virtual Diva stunned the crowds with her amazing creations on the runway, including this fabulous ensemble!

The Euridice ensemble is a gorgeous pantsuit with an intricately lace detailed bodice and flowing train attachment with fluffy faux fur collar the fits the frame wonderfully.  This design is perfect for the upcoming holiday season or other events.  The ensemble can be worn with or without the train making it a much more casual outfit for that night out with a special someone.  Do yourself a favor and hurry on over to the event venue before it's too late.

Don't take a moment of the world around you for granted

It continues to amaze me how this wonderful community we have all chosen to be a part of joins together to help their own when the need arises.  This month, the Saving Sight event is being held to raise money for one of Second Life's most dedicated and truly spectacular creators, Shane of Deadpool, as he continues to fight hard with his battle with Grave's disease and its subsequent effect upon his eyes.  Every day we go about our routines and often take for granted our sight.  It has become something that we don't even think about losing until one day a Doctor looks at us and lets us in on the news our eyes are failing.  I know my Grandfather took it for granted every single day he played golf in the sun for fifty years until things started to fade and suddenly he was blind.  I learned from him to enjoy every sight and to treasure them because sometimes life has a way of biting you in the ass.  As a talented creator, father, and friend, Shane has fought a long, hard battle with Cancer as well as Grave's Disease and is now threatened with eye issues which can often accompany Grave's, and needs our help!  Many of the grids best designers are taking part of the event including NoName, who brings you all this adorable tank dress, Sheryl, as an exclusive for the event which ends in just THREE days!

A night with Scheherazade

The last few days have been pretty hard on me with lots of running around and in and out of the car which leads to more pain, and in turn I end up exhausted and unable to sit up at the computer for very long.  When this hits me I find it very difficult to write anything inspired.  Instead I end up rambling on about this or that with no direction.  I finally was able to sit and take pics of this gorgeous ensemble from Scandal Fashions for Apply Me and just a few words about it didn't seem to be enough.  But I had the energy, so off I went to find something to spark my creativity.  Often times I go over to Image Essentials and wander around and hit the pose/prop studios to get my mind going, but an idea had started to swirl in my head.  At some point I had to go downstairs for something and as I was passing my bookshelf in my office, a title seemed to almost leap out at me and I had my inspiration....the Dance of the Seven Veils and Scheherazade.  What book, you may ask, well what else could it be other than Tom Robbins "Skinny Legs and All."  I am an avid fan and if you haven't read any of his books, I wouldn't suggest starting with this one as it happens to be a little far out there for most, but still it's an awesome novel!  Imagine if you will a scene, of a beautiful woman with plenty of curves, adorned with seven distinct veils and that as she seductively removes each veil a new level or a new path to YOUR happiness is revealed.  How far would you let her go?  How far would you watch?  Do we need to know that much about ourselves; or to reveal that much?  Or in the end, do we only truly learn when completely bare, with our souls naked?  Come with me and spend a night in the company of Scheherazade and her seven veils, as you can tell, we have already peeled away a few layers, but obviously there are many to go.

The Desire Silks comes in a variety of colors and with all of your favorite mesh body appliers as well, meaning you are sure to find your perfect fit!  The skirt is an add-on piece with two to choose from in each color, but make sure to check out the bra and panties without the attachment as well as they are truly stunning.  The stockings are purposely footless so you don't hide those pretty toes when wearing the matching shoes, also from Scandal Fashions.  The entire ensemble is an exclusive at the current round of Apply Me from Solaris, which ends in just a few days so hurry on over as you don't have much time!  Trust me this is a gorgeous piece that goes well in many RP communities as well as Genies, or if you are like me, you love the feeling of being incredibly feminine and this is the perfect outfit if you are wanting to show off what it means to be a woman.  So with a wink and a nod, I wish you all a wonderfully wicked evening!

"Smooth Sailin"

I don't know whether it is the stress of the Summer or merely a desire to be far, far away in general but I have been dreaming of a cruise for weeks now down among the Caribbean Islands or even more distant, exotic ports.  So today as I busied myself with unpacking my enormous pile of boxes I was delighted with the newest releases you can only find at Designer Showcase from AnaMarkova Designs, as they fit my daydreaming mood perfectly!

Every walk in the garden can be an adventure of wonder

Grace Kelly was a woman with exquisite taste, style defining looks and poise who exuded true femininity in all she did.  I am a huge old movie buff, and I remember sitting with my mother and watching Alfred Hitchcock movies and how the first time I saw her, I was captivated.  I have read every book ever written about her, and I have stared at pictures for hours taking in her classic, undeniable and eternal style.  She was a movie star and fashion icon long before she married the Prince of Monaco but it was in those days, when money was no longer a though, that she came into her own in the regards to fashion.  The cameras never missed a moment, and she always graced them with her flawless beauty.  There is something special in the old glitz and glamour days of Hollywood; whether it is simply the classic styling of the clothing, or the decadence that abounded, I am unsure.  All I know is that the women from those days, their clothes and the way they presented themselves, will always be something I admire.

"Summer came like cinnamon, so sweet"

Spring was something that never really hit the high country here in Arizona this year, but Summer is peeking around the corner and the temps are rising.  I remember Summer's growing up in St. Louis and how as the temperatures grew so did the evening adventures into the Central West End; with its sidewalk cafes, retro clothing stores, restaurants and my favorite place, Vintage Vinyl.  Though I spent my teens listening to cassette tapes there is something so classic and pure about a record printed on vinyl.  I hate that my son and the majority of his friends have no idea what a "record" is, let alone know what to do with it if they ever found one!  Vintage Vinyl had cubicles you could play records in and I remember stuffing 4 or 5 teen girls into one to hear the newest release from one of our favorite bands.  Needless to say as I was out wandering around looking for a place to inspire me for a picture, I headed by Indie Heights, and to my surprise found Vintage Vinyl.  Though a little modern, I was immediately transported back in time and I closed my eyes for a moment and I swear I could smell the fresh pressed vinyl.  If you too have a love of records and are looking for a spot to just chill out and think about the times gone by, then head on over to your favorite Thrift Shop and grab an old player with a couple of albums and get nostalgic with me for simpler times.

I absolutely love the retro Boho feel of this fringe top with its tailored shorts.  Both are very well made, though I will say you might have some breaking through when wearing a mesh body when twisting and turning.  But as you can see here, it is very pose specific and doesn't interfere with wearing it at all.  Do yourself a favor and head on by AnaMarkova Designs and check out all the gorgeous new releases including the one featured here.

Beautiful in her strangeness

I have been a lover of fine art since I was in high school thanks to the father of one of my best friend's growing up.  Every inch of their home in the Central West End area of downtown St. Louis was covered in pieces of abstract, post modern Soho art, as he described it.  I learned early on about Warhol, and his contemporaries; falling in love with the stories and the people involved over time.  Those Neo-Expressionists were not the only art that lined the walls, one captivated me even in it's disturbing imagery and I had to know the story behind the print.  A woman on a bed, surrounded by objects with tiny, vein like strings attaching each piece to her body, including a fetus.  Frida Kahlo was the name etched across the bottom of the piece and who she was, and her story became something of a fascination for me.  An incredibly talented woman whose life was riddled with tragedy who used her pain to create magnificent self-portraits that she bravely shared with the world; Frida Kahlo influenced generations of artists and women.

I went out searching for the perfect location to take a picture of this dress and I wandered into a brand new ballroom!  The Brigadoon Ballroom is a well decorated, outdoor venue with flowers, candles, pianos and places to dance, sit and cuddle with that special someone.  What you won't find are tip jars, for the creator doesn't care about the money, he simply wanted an elegant location for people to put on their finest and come dance the night away.  I think he has a home run here, as I stayed for quite awhile just to check out all the intimate locations dotted about the venue.  There is a group already put together so you can stay informed of the upcoming grand opening, so head on over and check it out before Brigadoon becomes the hottest date night spot on the grid!

Summer Chic @ Sneak Peek

Ok, let's face it, I am a Shoe-aholic.  There, I have said it!  And luckily for me, there happens to be a way I can feed this addiction without having to break the bank.  I am addicted to the Lazy Sundays sale event which usually happens to feature E.C.R.U..  If you haven't heard of the store then you are truly missing out on creative, and unique shoe designs in fabulous color packs at truly amazing prices, even when not on sale!  I am absolutely in LOVE with this pair and just had to share them with you all!  When I laid eyes on these stilettos with the Scorpion detail I might have squealed out loud here in my office and immediately picked up both texture packs so I can wear them with ANYTHING!  So don't be surprised if you see me out and about on the grid in these stunning heels!  Oh, I might have given the lil guys nicknames as well.  Do yourself a favor and go fall in love with E.C.R.U. like I have!

Stay Awhile

Good morning and welcome to March!  I have been away for a couple of days and now digging out of our largest snow storm of the season so I just had to toss on this magnificent new release from Ana Markova and take a stroll in the sunshine.  The "Sounja" collection comes in a variety of colors featuring the wonderful asymmetrical skirt and very flirty and tempting top.  The mesh is perfect and doesn't break when posing or walking, which if you follow my blog, then you know this is an important detail for those of us always on the move on the grid. Ana Markova has all kinds of gorgeous new goodies for you in the store so head on over and grab your favorites today!

I know some of you haven't made it by Sneak Peek yet and if you are looking for a watch to compliment every outfit then the exclusive release from Meva is exactly what you have been hoping to find!  The "Chronograph Diamonds" is expertly textured with wonderful details that can all be changed via a HUD.  There are several different metal selections and you can literally change every part of this watch other than the hands, making it incredibly versatile.  I have a feeling this watch will be finding it's way into many future posts because it is just amazing!  If you happened to miss the newest hairs from Little Bones released at N.21 then you need to make sure and see if the event is still running or head on over to the store fast!  The "Lady" style is a perfect hair to show off the neckline of a dress, a necklace or just when you want a long hair that does not interfere with your ensemble.  I fell in love with the Ombres a long time ago but the Landslide collection has now captivated my heart and you can often find me wandering on the grid in a hair from Little Bones.  This ensemble just begged me to stay awhile in it and enjoy the warmth the virtual sun brought to my bones this morning.  Have a wonderfully wicked rest of your day and remember to always stay true to your style and make today's fashions work for you!

Evening everyone!  I hope you have all had a wonderfully wicked day and are getting into a full night of decadent indulgence!  The BLVD's newest round started on Tuesday with all kinds of goodies for you to get your hands on!  Tonight, I was feeling a bit nostalgic for back home, so I had on my tunes while unpacking and putting together ensembles.  When I opened the newest release from Project Reject for The BLVD I was suddenly transported back to Springs and Summers at Lake of the Ozarks, and the "Redneck Yacht Club" in the "Keenah Tank and Shorts."

Grace

Ever have one of those moments where you don an ensemble and suddenly you feel transported, whether in time or place?  Today was one of those moments when I slid into this magnificent gown from Masoom.  The "Grace" dress truly made me feel like Grace Kelly and I was suddenly having visions of vintage Hollywood and the years of grace and glamour.  The fit on this dress is just perfect and the long peeking line of flesh makes it sensual as well as elegant.  Head on over to the store and make sure to grab your favorite and check out all the other wonderful new releases while there and shine this Spring season.  I paired the dress up with my favorite new shoe release from Precious Designs to add a little edge to the sensuality of the dress.  If you are looking for a new soft, short yet wonderfully feminine hair then head on over to N.21 and grab this fantastic new hair from Lamb!

The "Birdy" hair was exactly the classic Hollywood style with a little bit of modern edge I was looking for to wear with this dress and I was just delighted when I discovered it yesterday at my trip to N.21.  Lots of wonderful color options are available and as usual I fell in love with the Ombres.  I hope you are a lover of the classic beauties and head on over to grab your favorite color of the "Grace" dress and Lamb's newest release at N.21.

Cabaret

Needless to say this amazing ensemble from Ashmoot inspired me this morning as I hope it does you to head on over to Sneak Peek before it's too late!  From head to toe, this ensemble is simply PERFECT!   The intricate lace detailing along the entire bodysuit and delicate bows along the back makes this a very classicly styled "Burlesque" outfit that made me think of spotlights, stages and the Cabaret!  So with now more interruptions, I hope you enjoy the show!
