Those of you who have been following along for the past few months know that my health has once again taken an unexpected turn, causing me to blog less and to have to take more time away for appointments and to just rest.  With a heavy heart I have decided to step away from the blogging I love so much to concentrate on my health for a while.  We still don't have internet at the house and I just don't have the energy right now to make the commute into town to work on my blog.  In the past I would have felt terribly about having to take this break, but I have been following a pretty amazing woman for the past 6 months and she has taught me it's ok to take a step back and away for a bit to recharge my batteries.  From time to time I am sure I will get stir crazy and will come in just so I can see the new goodies created on the grid and to just check in with my readers.  Knowing I won't be blogging, I put together a space I can relax and unwind in when I decide to come into town using goodies from Bee Designs and Ariskea, so come inside and grab a cup of tea with me and let's talk about what the future holds!

Joyeux Noel - Featuring Bee Designs

Christmas is right around the corner, and if you are anything like my family and I, you are NOT prepared and are still trying to find out where half the year has gone! Plans have been set and we will be going out of town for five days to spend time with my entire side of the family. Which means there will be eleven people under one roof, with three of them being 18,19 and 20 and wanting to be entertained! So movies, gaming and cards will be top on the priority list as well as watching football and EATING! We do a lot of that when we are all together, and I say "we" meaning I will be doing most of the cooking, so everyone can keep eating! For years now I have been thankful that I didn't have a girl to try and raise in this world with all the fat shaming and body hating that seems to enter into every facet of our lives. Normally when the sun sinks into the sky a little bit earlier and the leaves begin to change I am exhilarated and invigorated, this year however is an exception! Since the Equinox here in the mountains of Arizona the nights have started to dip below freezing, my garden is officially trashed and waiting to be tilled under, and it does not feel like September, more like the last weeks of October or the start of November. A perfect place to unwind after a long day. Featuring Bee Designs, Petit Chat, and unKindness

Recently I decided to start over from scratch on my land and bought a new house and new outdoor landscaping, however the house has been sitting empty and I honestly didn't even know where to begin. I have so many beloved pieces and new things I have picked up over the last six months, and part of me wants to start over with all new things, but I can't see that happening since I happen to have certain pieces I can't live without. However, when I unpacked the new release from Bee Designs for The Liaison Collaborative I decided the vintage theme was going to continue, as usual, but with a new living room!

Those wonderfully long Arabian Nights - Featuring Bee Designs @ Enchantment

If you are all like me, the moment I hear the words "Arabian Nights", Robin Williams is suddenly singing in my head and I am once again caught up in the magic of Aladdin. It's not uncommon for me to randomly break out in song lyrics when situations or words come up, so I was not surprised by the Aladdin moment but tried to quickly move on, because, well, there is nothing Disneylike about this gorgeous new bedroom set from Bee Designs! I recently made a new friend via Facebook, who happens to also be on Second Life, and I have come to realize that after so many years online, I am awkward and jaded when it comes to new people.  Now granted I have always been a bit jaded, thus my name, but it wasn't until the past couple of weeks that I have come to realize I have serious trust issues with anyone new.  I think anyone who has spent an extended time online can tell you horror stories of people they have met, or have heard about, and trust me I have a whole long list of tales to tell, but they seem to have become redundant and I am not one to dwell in the past.  Four years ago when I became a permanent resident of SL, instead of just a passive user, I realized the community is much different than others I had been involved with before, and I was quite pleased.  I won't mention the other 3D chat program I was a part of, but every day brought new drama and no one looked out for each other or helped.  If you were a creator you were on your own and had to teach yourself everything, because no one was going to help you get ahead.  It was exhausting and incredibly stressful.  I used to be a creator of 3D goods on that other chat site, and still make money there but my blogging life on Second Life has been much more rewarding, and maybe someday I will expand into creating.  But for now, I am content to blog and expand my social circle as I seem to spend more time alone than I do in the company of others, unless you count shopping at events!  So with that idea in mind, making new friends is part of expanding my social circle, obviously, and I see now that I have to drop a lot of what I think I know from previous sites and chill out a bit, because that is the only way I am going to discover new, exciting, creative people after all!  You will always run across those people who have nothing better to do than troll, but for the most part, the Second Life journey is a positive one full of people looking to help each other live their best life ever!  And of course, when it comes to Second Life, that means decorating your personal world with gorgeous goodies you might not be able to afford in real life!

 

I guess you could call this an event extravaganza post since almost everything pictured is either currently at an event, or was showcased in a previous event.  With me being gone three months I feel like my home and my wardrobe are already outdated so after receiving goodies from unKindness and Serenity Style I decided to head out to the events to put together an entire scene with new decor pieces from across the grid.  I have been a fan of Bee Designs for awhile now and I was delighted to see them participating in the current rounds of The Crossroads and The Liaison Collaborative, and I was quite pleased at how well they went with the new collaborative effort from unKindness and Ariskea.  The Solace Nook collection is only available at Collabor88 and comes with the intricate Nook, available in different colors, as well as a set of four candles, a chandelier, table and plant; providing everything you need to create your own private retreat away from the rest of the world.  Each piece is incredibly well designed with an amazing attention to detail, reflected by the expert texturing and continuous theme.  If you are looking for well built furniture that mixes and matches well within all kinds of decorative spaces, then make sure to check out the pieces from Bee Designs, Serenity Style, and the new collection from two amazing creators, unKindness and Ariskea!

Caught celebrating Spring's return

Yesterday marked the first day of Spring, and as always I took some time to spin around out in the Sun, under the freshly opened Cherry Blossoms, listening to the birds chirping with my eyes closed I was again amazed by the beautiful bounty brought to us by Mother Nature.  This moment inspired me to go try on a few new goodies I have gotten and I absolutely fell in love with the newest creation from Rayne Couture, which happens to be an exclusive for InspirationSL.

The Lambkin sweater dress comes in five colors and a variety of sizes meaning you are sure to find your favorite, which won't be hard since the fit is fabulous and didn't break or stretch oddly in any pose.  I wandered over to PosESion last night and picked up a new set of poses since mine were feeling a bit stale, and I just fell in love with the whimsical Elfaba set, which added the exact feel I wanted for this photo.  As usual, PinkRayne makes it easy to find a pair of shoes for that gorgeous new dress with her coordinating heels.  The Lambkin Wedges are also an exclusive for InspirationSL and come in five coordinating colors for the dress, so do yourself a favor and head over to the event, as soon as you can get in, since it started yesterday!!

As usual, I am a sucker for the nail polishes from DaneMarkZ, and I got to spend a bit of time with the incredibly talented Hannah Daviau yesterday, who was kind enough to send me over a couple sets of polishes I didn't have, which means I just HAD to show them off today!  The Blizzard Vibrant nails come in a wide variety of colors with cute detailing.  I love the deep, jeweled tones, even though heading into Spring, as sometimes I think you need to make a statement and bring some attention to that new manicure!  I hope you all spent some time out celebrating the return of Spring yesterday, as I did, and that you have been inspired to head to InspirationSL so you can get your hands on this adorable ensemble too!

A walk in the sunshine with CIRCA @ The Home and Garden Expo

Tonight at midnight the 2016 Home and Garden Expo, benefiting The American Cancer Society, will close up it's doors for another year, which means you don't have much time left to head on over and pick up some of the newest and best creations on the grid for your home and garden.  For my final post I am featuring the fantastic releases from CIRCA and Bee Designs for the event as well as the adorable new fence collection from unKindness only available at SaNaRae!  CIRCA has two 100% donation items, as well as a new release and a cute gift on exhibition at the event and if you are getting ready to decorate your home or photo sim then you need to check out these pieces, as they will make perfect additions and you can feel good about spending a bit of money as the proceeds go to help the American Cancer Society and their continuing fight on the behalf of everyone who has fought and those still fighting their battles with Cancer.

The Birdhouse Bench and the Planters are CIRCA's donation items for the even and I absolutely love the designs and the colors are perfect as we head into the Spring months and I can think of no better way to give back than to pick up these two fabulous pieces!  I have to take a moment and talk about the Bon Vivant Garden Café Sets as I think they are truly fantastic!  There are three to choose from and each part of the chair can be changed to suit your fancy, or textural needs making them incredibly versatile and a must have this Spring garden season, especially if you love to entertain outside like I do!  To complete the scene I happily pulled out the newest release from unKindness, only available at the SaNaRae event!  The Floral Fence w/Lights come in several different color choices so I am sure you will find one to fit your landscape.  The fences come in different sections, including a gate with an open/close script, single posts and every piece has lights with on/off on touch.  I loved the blue accents and the very Springlike atmosphere it helped to create in the corner of my newly acquired homestead!  Yep, I am finally over at my new digs where I get to peek out of my windows and spy on my friends/bosses in their home!  Not sure which of us will get picked up first by the SL police for stalking, me or them, but I have a feeling it will be an interesting adventure on the way there!  But in all fairness, I couldn't be happier living close to them now, I have been away for far too long, their creative genius always inspires.  Anyway, I digress!  The Home and Garden Expo ends tonight at MIDNIGHT!  So hurry up and get on over before it's too late to grab some of these fantastic items!!!

These walls have seen blood, sweat, tears and dreams come true.

If the walls could talk in a young girl's bedroom oh the stories they would have to tell.  Imagine the girl whose father put up a ballet bar when she put on her first pair of toe shoes with dreams of the Paris Ballet.  The hours spent practicing and dreaming as she thumbs through post cards from France, or reads her books or studying every move of the Prima Ballerina of her time all witnessed by the walls of her room.  Every where you peek inside this private space a piece of her dreams is revealed by the knick knacks around the room and most obviously by the practice bar that seems to be the center of her world.  The blood, sweat and tears from all the hard work paving the way to her dreams.  That is after all, the lesson learned as we enter adulthood, hard work is the key to everything, especially when reaching for the stars!  Stop wishing and hoping your dreams come true, and put a little effort in, the rewards will be well worth your blood, sweat and tears.

I don't know if it's just the time of year but so many places are looking for Home and Garden bloggers that I have spent the past few days busy filling out applications and checking out stores.  Along the way I discovered a few new places to shop and kept seeing new items at events, mostly Lost & Found.  There isn't a word in the English language that I know of to describe the amount of cuteness at this round of Lost & Found and I just broke the bank on my latest visit.  The adorable vintage drawer décor set featured here is the newest creation from the minds at unKindness and comes with the lamp, drawer seat, drawer pillow storage, and two stacks of pillows, one with lace and one without.  This collection can only be picked up at the current round of Lost & Found which is where you can also find the vintage heater and radio which are two of my favorite additions to the house right now.  They are both perfect for the shabby chic look that I love as well as able to fit in with most décors with the numerous colors available, so go grab yours today!  I recently heard about a new home décor store called Knick Knacks and I wandered by the store at the Cosmopolitan Mall, checked out the flickr photos, and ended up at Shiny Shabby JUST to see what I could collect from the Rappelle toi de Paris gacha at the event.  Though after quite a bit of linden I still didn't pick up a rare, I was excited to get my hands on a couple Uncommon pieces, which made my heart happy.  Ever since my first trip to Paris when I was just 18 I have wanted to return, and at points in my life the idea of running away there has crossed my mind, so this room has a special place in my heart as I think my dreams of Paris are becoming to high to reach, but that is what dreams are after all, the star just out of our reach, so I think I might just grab a ladder!

A Wintery snuggle oasis

I know the week before the Christmas and New Years holidays was absolutely crazy and you might have missed the opening of Trés Chic but don't fret, the event continues for a bit longer meaning you have plenty of time to head on over to the venue and take your time checking out all the fabulous designs available for this round.  I had a chance to pick up a few things before I left for vacation and just had the chance today to unpack everything and set up my snuggle oasis in the snow.

I have to say I didn't work very hard setting up this little snuggle spot in the woods when Bee Designs made it so easy with this amazing new bed and landscape piece only available at Trés Chic.  The Winter Garden Bed comes in both PG and Adult versions and an easy to use Rezz box to help place it.  The bed comes with the rocks, snow, lantern, lights, Deer, trees and animals as shown above, and if you are looking for a couple of vintage pieces to finish off your cuddle spot then make sure to check out Shutter Field's spot at the event where you can find the Winter Decor Fence and Sled with Decor, sold separately at the event.  Even with the tree and Christmas decor tucked away for another year, the snow and my forest of trees, along with this spot won't be leaving my sim anytime soon.  After all, it's a Winter wonderland up here in the mountains of Arizona right now, and I really wish I could sleep under the stars!
