Today has decided to be one of those days that I wish had never happened, and I want to crawl back into bed, but I know that doesn't help anything. So I dove into decorating this new scene with goodies from Bee Designs and Serenity Style, hoping to channel some of my stress away and it worked, at least for a bit. While decorating I was thinking of dreams and possibilities and how they can get crushed, but that you still have to continue to dream or you just wither away.

No I haven't gotten stuck in a Groundhog Day loop, I realize it's Saturday, but life happened yesterday, so all the goodies I picked up for Fifty Linden Fridays get shown to you today! Dreaming a dream of hope with unKindness @ FaMESHed

It has come to my attention recently that when people hit 40 they seem to stop dreaming, and hoping.  What is up with that?  As I am almost 44 and still living single since 2008, my dreams are more alive today than they were years ago.  I hear friends giving up on having children; on traveling the world; and the one that worries me the most, on love.  It would be incredibly easy to just give up when it seems life hasn't turned out the way you expected, but nothing easy is ever worth it, right?  It is those things gained after struggle, distance, time, blood, sweat and tears that mean the most to us, because we were challenged to get them; they were hard not easy.  Still being the die hard romantic who believes she will get swept off her feet by her Knight in Shining Armor keeps me young, and keeps me from getting too bogged down in the in's and out's of dating after 40, for in my heart I believe that kind of take your breath away kind of love still exists for me.  Losing sight of your dreams and stopping to hope means the outlook is no longer about the glass being half full, more looking at it as half empty, which can often lead down a long, dark road of depression, which none of us want to travel. So smile, take a deep breath and remember those dreams of a younger you, grab them and have hope!

The scene is set for a certain kind of something

I only have two and a half rooms in my house left to decorate and one of them happens to be the bathroom, which means when I saw this amazing new set from Zerkalo at the current round of FaMESHed I rushed right over and grabbed what I needed!  Between that stop, The Gacha Garden and Shiny Shabby I think I might finally be done with the house, other than the kitchen, which really only needs, a sink and maybe another cabinet.  People don't realize sometimes how long it can take to design or set up a scene, so for a little bit of a diversion during the interior design stage I headed up to my platform to check out some of my newest goodies from WE LOVE TO BLOG.  When I hit "apply" on the HUD from Lushish Catz for the 7 Deadly Sin - Vanity set the entire post came together and a mood came over me a bit.  Recently, that one person who can always make me shiver with only his words has dropped back into my life and he has me quite distracted, so I have set the scene and I doubt it will take him very long to figure out what that certain something is on my mind.

Writing love letters is a lost art

In case you hadn't figured it out by now, I am truly a romantic at heart.  I work and do most of my socializing online due to health issues, yet part of me longs for the days of true courtship in not just long distance relationships, but in all.  I like the idea of letters in the mail, flowers, inexpensive gifts that say, "I'm thinking about you," all the acts of courting a mate.  Many would say emails and texts of today carry much of the same appeal, but they have removed the anticipation, which is at the heart of romance for me.  The waiting with bated breath when you know they are going to phone; the skipping of the heart at the end of a date with the anticipation of a kiss; or as it used to be, the flutter in the pit of the stomach as you race down the drive to the mailbox, stopping a moment to take a deep breath before peering inside, hoping, praying for a new letter.  Thinking of all the couples who spent weeks, sometimes months, and dreadfully sometimes, years apart completely dedicated to one another, with that love maintained only by putting ink to paper and the promise of a future together warms my soul.  In the book Soulmates, by Thomas Moore, he discusses many things, but one of the topics is how to communicate with your soul.  The simple act of putting pen to paper is the best way to truly reach your soul and discover your deepest, most intimate thoughts.  This applies to letters, poems, and journals, for sometimes we need communication with just ourselves which we do when we journal.  Tapping into those emotions and thoughts, transferring them to paper and into physical form brings us closer to who we truly are behind all the masks we have learned to wear.  The writing of love letters is a lost art form that I believe people should practice again, and in the process maybe people will gain deeper insight into themselves and possibly learn a bit of patience and once again find their love of anticipation.

Alchemist @ Vogue Fall Fest

Hey, did you know there are some wonderful offerings from Alchemist at Vogue's Fall Fest?!  Well if you haven't been by, or happened to think it was just a wonderful display, then you need to make sure you check out this Fireplace Hearth Collection!  The Fireplace actually has a stove pipe that fits outside as well.  Which is a great detail and makes it perfect for ANY winter cabin.  The Collection comes in 3 different metal choices for you to choose from, including the gate and utensils.  I happened to pick up the tree and pillows collection at a recent Fifty Linden Friday and just thought they went together perfectly!  As well as the wonderful Mini Winter pieces from Half-Deer.
