Somewhere along the line my Bohemian life became Hipster?

So for a few years now I have been hearing this term "hipster" and I haven't given it much thought really, why would I at my age?  That was until recently when I saw posts slipping in on some of my favorite "bohemian" feeds on different sites and I realized my style was very similar.  I don't really know how I feel about that, and I probably should do more research since for me it seems tied to a culture I am not a huge fan of, but time will tell.  I spent four hours putting this room together yesterday and I have to tell you I just fell in love with it all!  With the newest pieces from unKindness with their flair and whimsy and the fantastic creations from so many designers at the Home and Garden Expo, all with their well loved, well lived-in looks and lots of knickknacks tucked about the place....I was in heaven!  Everywhere you look there is something new and unique to find with everything pictured here found at Whimsical or at the Relay for Life Home and Garden Expo, keeping the shopping easy for you, with so many goodies to choose from!  To make sure you didn't miss anything, I have zoomed in a bit to give you a tour of my bohemian hipster life!

Whenever I get this much stuff together in a scene I just don't even know where to start with listing items for you all, so today I just started on the left and went from there!  I hope you like my new little space, I know I do as that is where I currently am holed up relaxing and listening to some tunes!  Hmm, maybe I do sound a bit like a "hipster"!

Sensual beauty in black and white

I love color, as I think you can tell by looking at my blog, but sometimes a photo catches my eye as I take it and I wonder what it would look like in black and white.  It is a very rare occasion that I end up posting one of these photos as they just don't seem to capture what I am looking for.  As I put together this ensemble the other night I was reminded of an old photo I saw of Mae West back in her prime in a very similar ensemble, and I KNEW this post had to be in black and white.  This gorgeous kimono can be picked up at the current round of Collabor88 and comes in several color combinations, with the red and black featured here, as it looks the best in black and white.  The jewelry and hair are also current exclusives to the event so if you haven't had a chance to stop by you really should, this round is quite fun and provocative, one of my favorite combinations, after all it is very close to beautiful but deadly!

Lovely Asian Retreat - Pastiche at The Home and Garden Expo

The RFL Home and Garden Expo has been up and running for a week now, and all kinds of exciting events have been taking place!  If you haven't had a chance to check out the event, then do yourself a favor and head on over today, and do it around 4pm SLT so you can be there for the lantern release.  If you don't know about this amazing event, then let me tell  you a little about this amazing event!  Ever year the Home and Garden Expo has every exhibitor create two donation items with 100% of the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.  This year, they have added a gacha area, where with very pull you donate half of what you spend as well, meaning this is a wonderful chance to give back a little to those who need it the most!

Today I am featuring gorgeous releases from Pastiche, exclusively for the event.  The Asian Dark Wood Teahouse is wonderfully constructed with elegant wallpaper decorating two of the walls inside and 100% of your purchase will be donated to the American Cancer Society.  If you are looking for something a bit brighter then make sure to check out the event exclusive which is the fabulous Teahouse in red.  And of course, you can also pick up a few excellent decor pieces at the event, so let's go inside!

Pastiche has also created this gorgeous tea table and pillow that also happens to come with a placemat which has a menu offering several food selections.  The Mio Asian Tea Table is also a 100% donation item for the event, so you get to amazing pieces and donate to a fabulous cause at the same time!  The screen and shelf are also from Pastiche and can be picked up at the exhibit to perfectly accessorize your new Asian Retreat.  The rest of the decor was picked up earlier this month at The Chapter Four, but with it's recent closing I would check the store.  I honestly have to say I don't know where Glam Affair is putting their newest home and garden creations but I would head by the store to check it out!

The cat and I gravitate to the same room in the Winter

Winter comes a bit earlier and Spring a bit later here in the mountains of Arizona and when the humidity rises, I am a bit pathetic now and I get freezing cold, which means I have a tendency to gravitate towards the kitchen.  If you are an avid reader like I am, then your kitchen is probably full of cookbooks as well as a few paperbacks here and there, because there is no better spot than an oven-warmed kitchen to sit and read while you bake or cook.  It is a perfect place to unplug and unwind, taking a little time for yourself.  Everyone who knows me well knows I love to cook and I would DIE for this new kitchen set up of mine in Second Life.  If you have been looking to add a kitchen to your home or to add a few new goodies, then check out the new releases from unKindness, Apple Fall, Chic Buildings and Dixie Dandelion!

The Snow Queen's vision of time

As all of my readers know, I love to have a reason to play dress up and put on a new character for a bit and today is no exception!  I was delighted when I opened my blogger box from TFF for the SL 2015 Christmas Expo, a Relay for Life production and saw this wonderful ensemble and just HAD to share it with you all as well as give you a teaser for January from Lone Wolf Studio!
