The perfect Autumn ensemble - Featuring Ashmoot, and Desmonia

If you have ever spent any time in the mountains of Arizona in the Fall, then you know how amazingly beautiful it can be, and how temperamental the weather is as well. The skies are crystal blue, with gorgeous white, fluffy clouds and the temperatures rise into the 70's during the day, while the evenings are dotted with campfires and bonfires, the smell of smoke in the air, sweaters and temps that dive into the 30's. As you can guess, getting dressed in the morning for the rest of the day can be a bit tricky, and I have come to understand the true meaning of layering, and I find myself wishing I could get away with some of the Autumn fashions I see donning the cover of the latest fashion magazines. But thanks to Second Life, I get to do just that, and this new ensemble from Ashmoot looks like it just came out of the pages of the October issue of Vogue magazine!

From head to toe this entire outfit is incredibly well designed, textured, and the attention to detail is absolutely amazing! The oversized sweater goes perfectly over the flirty, skater styled skirt, the jewelry and glasses are expertly designed to add the perfect details, and check out this magnificent purse that comes in two styles with and without poses. I just had to take more than one photo so I could show off all the details, including the gorgeous new nails and lips from Alaskametro and the fantastic shoes and stockings, also from Ashmoot, that complete this ensemble.

Just a simple country girl at heart - Featuring Emberotic's Fashion Designs and Hudson's Clothing Company

Locked up tight! Featuring Petit Chat, Powder Pack and Truth

The last 24 hours have proven to be the most stressful we have had in months, but at least this time it wasn't all negative stress! Since yesterday morning we have found out I need to have heart surgery before Christmas, my son's ultrasound was inexplicably moved up to today, my other half got a job interview for today, and by the end of the day yesterday, he also had a job offer just outside Seattle, WA and we are currently in Arizona. Needless to say our heads are spinning and I'm not sure if we can tell up from down at the moment. A bit ago I wrote a post about chasing after your dreams, and now the kids are looking to us to see if we are going to follow them or watch an opportunity pass us by. We were really thinking about how he was going to move there while I stayed here with the kids, for the last one to graduate, which would have meant 9 months apart. Good news came on that front today, when they told him they would hold the job for 6 months, which has made both of us breathe a bit easier, but it sure hasn't relieved the stress associated with this decision. So if I seem a bit scattered I apologize, and I hope you can all bare with me during this interesting time in my life!

As usual I ran away to Second Life to try and zone out for a bit and let the world fall away and it worked! For just a little while I was able to concentrate on something else and I think my blood pressure has settled back down and my heart is beating normally instead of like a junior high Jazz band on the first day of school, well that was until I started this post! (LOL) But beautiful things have a habit of making me relax and this whole ensemble of new releases did just that, at least for a few minutes! Hearts on fire

It happens to be one of those days where I can't seem to find my words since my mind is in such a jumble. For the last couple of months the schools in Flagstaff, one in particular, have been the target of what I would call school terrorism. Notes have been found talking of school shootings etc, with dates and targets, and it has everyone on edge. For the second day in a row, my son's girl friends school has gone into shutdown under threats and more notes found and I find my brain isn't on work as much as it is on the safety of not only my own children but all of those effected by these circumstances. We all have drawn a bit closer in the last few days and I am in contact more frequently with my man, basically pulling my family close to me like the mother hen I am. So excuse me for not having much to say the past few days, my mind is occupied with all kinds of things right now, which means anything I write turns into a jumbled mess. Lately I have been starting to walk/hike again and it seems that everyday I want to be outside more and more, making my journeys longer, which has me feeling better than I have in months.  Whether a short walk after dinner, or a few miles in the morning or a weekend adventure, I have been enjoying Spring as it starts to blanket the mountains of Arizona.  While the mountains are still crowned in snow, down below the trees are in bloom and wild flowers are starting to peek their heads above the soil, and it is a perfect time to be out and about.  The desire for fluffy green grass and flowers has translated to a complete transformation of my land, including a completely empty home, since it seems I have no desire to be inside on SL as well as in my RL, but it does happen to give me a space to take photos, and that makes me quite happy!  As I was unpacking my newest goodies I came across this adorable new dress from [Marquesse] for Fashion Dazzle, with the wonderfully constructed and textured Butterfly heels, the ensemble is perfect for those Spring days out on the grid.

Bourbon in your eyes - Featuring IT! and Powder Pack - LeLutka!

The past week has run away from me and I seriously don't know how.  Life has a tendency to speed by while we are waiting for something to happen.  As promised, once I managed to get online again, I opened my delivery from Powder Pack and just had to show off a few things!

I couldn't believe how many designers have gotten involved with Powder Pack, and I was delighted to see so many appliers, including lips, eye shadows, freckles, eyebrows, and entire skins!  I went through every item before I settled on my look for today, featuring *YS&YS*, #adored, and Izzie's.  The skin from *YS&YS* is available in different tones and the HUD is amazing, giving you lots of options, including the brows.  The skin is very well done with perfect shading on the neck, under arms and groin area, with great attention paid to the detailing on the face.  If you are looking for shiny shadows and lips, then you will love the releases from Izzie's for the LeLutka pack.  They come in tons of different colors and tones, making them incredibly versatile.  You can totally change the look of a skin with makeup, which is always a good thing, considering how much appliers can be.  I have never tried other lashes on my LeLutka head, other than the ones that come with it, so I was excited when I saw lashes from #adored, giving me yet another new look!  The lashes come in different designs and fit perfectly on the head, even after lots of adjustments on my Bento head, so do yourself a favor and head over to Powder Pack and pick up the LeLutka addition, or reserve the next Catwa pack, I promise you will NOT be disappointed!

Amidst the ruins of what used to be - Addams, Truth, Glam Affair, unKindness, The Epiphany, Izzie's

If you have traveled out west to Arizona then you know that the blending of cultures is sometimes almost seamless here with Spanish Missions falling to ruins on Native lands, and vice versa.  History has shown missionaries and the like bringing their Christian beliefs to the indigenous people of the West, with many embracing the new religion while continuing to follow their own traditions, making this area very rich in blended cultures.  I was excited to find The Epiphany up and running upon my return so I could do some shopping and do a little bit of catch up after being gone for three months.  And I was absolutely blown away by some of the offerings available only at the event, including this absolutely gorgeous ensemble from Addams.  With the release of unKindness's Pueblo Viejo for the event I jumped at the chance to pick up this outfit so I could put the Native Princess beside the Spanish Mission, creating a capture you can find duplicated throughout the history of art in the Southwest.

The Zara Collection by Addams comes with a necklace, bracelets, top and pants with several different color combinations as well as a RARE color, featured here on the top, at a reasonable pull price, meaning you won't break the bank trying to get your favorite ensemble put together.  I love the fit on both pieces and the detailing and texturing is absolutely exquisite!  If you happened to pass by the gacha and not stop do yourself a favor and head on back and grab yours today, I promise you won't be disappointed!  Truth has three different hairs available for The Epiphany all in one gacha, and I was tickled pink to get the RARE on my first pull, which means I am coveting the reds at the moment, and we know how much I love being a fiery redhead!  I love the flow and detailing on all three hairs but this one works well with most outfits with little cutting into the body, it is the perfect hair for a long, soft, silhouette, so hurry and pick one up for yourself!

Sensual beauty in black and white

I love color, as I think you can tell by looking at my blog, but sometimes a photo catches my eye as I take it and I wonder what it would look like in black and white.  It is a very rare occasion that I end up posting one of these photos as they just don't seem to capture what I am looking for.  As I put together this ensemble the other night I was reminded of an old photo I saw of Mae West back in her prime in a very similar ensemble, and I KNEW this post had to be in black and white.  This gorgeous kimono can be picked up at the current round of Collabor88 and comes in several color combinations, with the red and black featured here, as it looks the best in black and white.  The jewelry and hair are also current exclusives to the event so if you haven't had a chance to stop by you really should, this round is quite fun and provocative, one of my favorite combinations, after all it is very close to beautiful but deadly!

Mystical Beauty

Sometimes when I put together an ensemble with a certain theme in mind, stories start to play themselves out in my head and quite often it is very difficult for me to choose which way I want to go.  Today as I put together a scene and then an ensemble for some reason "Blade Runner" was playing through my head and I had a different take on an android in the future.  What if in the future we have come so far that the only way to tell an artificial intelligence from a naturally born human is through their eyes.  With contacts, you would never know, as you pass by the nameless and countless faces on the street which people were "real" or not.  What if it was only in the dark of the night when the contacts were removed could you truly tell who you were with?  Could you trust anyone?  Could you trust yourself?  Would you trust her?

Life has recently given me a challenge that I didn't expect, and it has left me in quite a contemplative state, to be honest.  From everything that has been going on, I have been reminded that life is very short and that you should never take anything for granted.  So please remember to never take a moment for granted and cherish every moment you have on this beautiful planet of ours.

Wrong Turn

 

That moment when you make a wrong turn, and the car starts to shudder and slowly comes to a halt.  When the scenery and the town around you raises the hairs on the back of your arms and neck and the only thing you want to do is scream....  That moment when your wrong turn suddenly becomes a scene from your most hated horror movie.  All you want to do is pick up the phone and call someone to come to your rescue; but the bars aren't registering and the only phone around is the red dilapidated phone booth in front of what looks like a rundown, abandoned motel with a playground rusty and overgrown.  And when you realize you have let your imagination run wild and start to calm your nerves, the yellow crime tape shimmering in the dusky gloom of the oncoming storm at sunset catches your eye, along with the dark red stained pavement and fading outline of a body.  Scrambling to the phone booth you pray someone answers to save your from your worst nightmare, all caused by a wrong turn!

But, if you are going to get lost, or possibly become an unwilling character in a real life horror film, make sure you are dressed to kill, so to speak!  Sneak Peek from Penumbra events is JUST the place for you to pick up some of the hottest designs on the grid from the most fashion forward creators whose eyes are always on the runways!  Sneak Peek opened January 25th and will close February 5th, which means you don't have much time, so HURRY!  Today I bring you this absolutely STUNNING ensemble from M&M called "Vee."  It is a high waisted dress with a wonderful quilted leather skirt and form fitting top.  The mesh fits amazingly well and I adore the little extra details on the skirt.  I paired them with Poute's newest release, also at Sneak Peek.  The Honey wedges comes in a variety of colors and are a nice elegant twist on the normally chunky wedge heel.

Not sure if there are any left, but I picked up this gorgeous purse from BSD Design Studio at the Couturier's Docks earlier this month and if it's not there, then go check the store because this a MUST HAVE addition for any fashion guru, or purse lover.  The leather is perfectly textured and those Antelope skulls with horns are fantastic!  If you haven't checked out the Docks, then make sure to head over SOON or at the start of next month to see what amazing, new Haute Couture offerings they have for you! 

And in case you haven't been paying attention, Catwa Clip has just redesigned the entire store and to celebrate the opening the "Rachel" hair has been released!  The long, wavy, slightly pulled back hair is a very natural look and comes several color packs ensuring the perfect match for your closet and your mood!  The hair is just short enough in the front to not interfere with those of us a little more well endowed than others and comes in different sizes to fit your head shape.  Do yourself and go check out the beautiful new store and all of the wonderful hairs from CATWA!

Artic Blast is OPEN!

It isn't officially Winter for another week, but it sure is cold up here in the mountains of Arizona!  Our peaks FINALLY are covered with snow and the chill in the air has brought the holiday season to my doorstep.  If you haven't managed to get in the spirit yet, or if you are searching for a perfect Winter outfit then head on over to Arctic Blast from SL Vogue.  Doors opened today and will be open through the first week in January so make sure you head on over to get your hands on some amazing items for this Season!

Loordes of London has released two outfits for the event, and the colors and pieces can be mixed and matched until your heart is content!  This morning I bring to you the La Mans and La Tour set.  The La Mans shirt is a henley jersey style shirt with black sleeves and different colors for the main body of the shirt.  The La Tour pants come in complimentary colors to enhance the look, or just pair it with your favorite jeans for a very casual look.  Which of course, having fallen in love with the Addams Worn Out jeans from the "Mary" collection exclusive at Arctic Blast, I just had to show off that look as well!  And this hat from Loordes of London also available in complimentary colors, is just adorable and a GREAT accent detail!  The hat has a resizer when you touch it, making it very easy to fit!  And if looking for a hair to fit under that hat....look no further than Tameless and their new release, "Gizella"!  I love the short cut that fits under a lot of hats, yet has the tendrils floating on the hair, giving it a very real feeling.  Head on over to the store and grab some new hair!  Which, while showing you this outfit, I just had to show off this hair from Catwa as well.  I love how the "Tina" hair falls over the face yet doesn't hide it.
