She is whimsy in motion that Gamine girl - Style Personalities Part III

To say I am truly humbled by the responses to the first two installments of the Style Personality series, would be an understatement. Since I began my blog it has been my intention to not only showcase the fashion and home decor of Second Life but also to entertain and educate. In my early twenties I was a make-up artist for Prescriptives cosmetics where I gained a lot of knowledge about not just skin care, and make-up, but about color palettes, and how to put them together. Then I stumbled into an opportunity to become a Personal Shopper at Lord & Taylor where I got to learn tons about fashion, personal style, and how to dress for your body type. After a few years of learning anything and everything I could I decided to broaden my horizon further and go to beauty school to be an Aesthetician and combined my knowledge to start my own image consulting business. After the birth of my son my path in life led me far from the fashion and beauty industry, but it has always remained my first love. Ten years ago when circumstances in my life found me disabled and home, it was to fashion, color and design I ran to after discovering the world of blogging and Second Life.

Now that I have a forum where I can express myself, I feel it is actually my duty to share with people the knowledge I have garnered over the years, thus leading to the current discussion of Style Personalities. So far, we have delved into two of the five personalities and today, inspired by this adorable ensemble from B Barbie Style, I will reveal to you the world of the Gamine girl.

A Gamine is easy to spot because no matter the age she has a childlike innocence and appeal which is revealed in her mannerisms and of course, in her fashion. She is always youthful and neat in her appearance, never tugging or pulling at her clothes or worrying about how they fit. The Gamine girl is always on the go with a lightness in her step and though often more on the quiet side, her whimsical style keep her from every being too serious. She prefers straight lines that hug and enhance her figure without ever being too tight, or too revealing. Anything loud, bright, large, dramatic, bold or frilly will undoubtedly overwhelm the quiet, understated beauty of the Gamine. If there are any patterns in her closet they should be tiny polka dots and small, repeating, symmetrical textures that are enhanced with delicate details and large buttons with minimal jewelry.

Much like the Phoenix, the Aries woman rises from the ashes to burn brighter.

If you have ever been lucky enough (yes I am a bit biased) to be friends with an Aries, then you know they are a tad bit fiery, sometimes a little self absorbed (the Zodiac infant just finding their fingers and toes), occasionally a wee bit arrogant, fiercely loyal (sometimes to a fault), funny, quirky, very trustworthy, brutally honest, with a tender heart they wear on their sleeves. I am not afraid to throw out the negatives involved with my sign, as they are as much a part of my personality as are the positive qualities. One of the things I am known for, is trying something over and over again, expecting different results, usually when it comes to relationships. I will literally try anything and everything I know to attempt to "fix" what went wrong, even though most of the times, those things cannot be fixed, because a relationship involves two people. With some distance, I can look back now and see the faults of my past and realize that no matter how much you want something, it wasn't always meant to work out, which means there is nothing to "fix", if that makes sense. The past few years have been pretty dark and I literally have felt like everything was destroyed and that I was starting anew, this year. I feel like I have risen from the ashes of my past life to shine brighter in the new one that has found me. With Indulge Temptation's new release of the My Sign necklaces, the tone of this post was set, but I don't just think Aries women rise from the ashes, I think anyone can, I just loved the fire reference!

I have always loved the juxtaposition of high fashion with grungy, or industrial settings. With the fire reference I just had to seek out a location where I could do just that, and when I stumbled upon Junktown I absolutely fell in love with it! Oops! I've gone and fallen down the rabbit hole at the Tea Party, again!

Something caught my eye and jumped into my closet again!

Yesterday when I was out and about on the grid checking out my sponsors items at Designer Showcase and out of the corner of my eye I spotted an ensemble from Lavian & Co. and it had me taking a beeline that direction. Before I knew it that outfit had jumped off the wall and into my inventory, which seems to happen to me all the time! I don't know if this is just a Second Life phenomena or if it just happens to me?! Though my wonderful sponsors fill my closet on a weekly basis there are just some things I have to get my hands on that go directly into my daily wardrobe. This top and pants combination is exactly one of those outfits and after a little bit of accessorizing with goodies by Cae at the new round of FaMESHed, I just had to share a Just Jaded ensemble. Time for a little redecorating

As my readers know, I finally settled on a home awhile ago now and I haven't changed much since I moved in, just a few things here and there. My attic eclectic look had kind of taken over which suited me just fine, until The Liaison Collaborative opened yesterday with their Bohemian theme. Now my two sides are fighting with each other and in the end I called a truce picking up a few new pieces from Zerkalo at FaMESHed and a whole bunch of Bohemian items from The Liaison Collaborative, satisfying both sides of my personality. Now the trick will be to make everything go together seamlessly in the house, but that after all is the appeal of haphazard styling!

DIGS brings the Malabar Set to The Liaison Collaborative with wonderful coordinating pieces and colors tailored to the more Bohemian side of life. The Love Seat and Chair come in PG and Adult versions with the art work, rugs and wall hanging as accessory pieces. You can purchase the items individually or as a set so be careful when clicking to make sure you are grabbing the right set. I loved the living room sets from Clustered as well, but I had to make a choice, but I just HAD to have this adorable ladder with it's bright pattern, a perfect accent to the DIGS set. Since I happened to be wearing a new release from NoName while out and about shopping I decided to share it with you all as well since it's just so damned cute! The Bonita top comes in several solid colors as well as a couple of innuendo embossed tops that coordinate with the high-waist shorts, which offer more colors than the tops! Wonderfully chic for Christmas

As I sit and look out the window my view happens to be a bit short at the moment, since all I can see is white! The snow has been falling off and on since Sunday night and apparently we are due up to 6 inches by the time day is done and another 6 tomorrow. Which if I had put up a tree and was planning on spending Christmas here at home, it would be fantastic. However, the holidays are down at my parents this year and my sister doesn't get off of work until late tomorrow afternoon. So now I sit wondering if we are even going to be able to get down there for Christmas, which has me a bit cranky and preoccupied at the moment. However, to brighten up my day I headed on over to Trés Chic to do a little retail therapy and see if I could lighten my mood a bit, and it worked! No matter where I happen to end up for Christmas at least I will wonderfully chic!

This round of Trés Chic is full of outdoor and garden accessories as well as TONS of hair and some fantastic wardrobe pieces as well. On Friday I had picked up this fantastic dress from Valentina E for Fifty Linden Fridays and I went to Trés Chic hoping to find something to toss over it to create the perfect ensemble and I didn't have to look very far! This adorable, fuzzy jacket is by Mimikiri and comes in a wide variety of colors AND there is also a gifty in the booth which happens to be this jacket in Red, which as far as I am concerned, that is reason enough to head to the event! But if you are still needing more incentive then check out these fabulous heels from Ricielli! The Astrid heels come in the Fatpack at the event offering you 20 different colors via HUD with metal choices as well. I love the v front on the shoes that actually looks a lot like a deer hoof, which I think is a brilliant touch this time of year, and I hope you do too. As usual, MINA brings us a very well made, well textured hair available in the traditional MINA colors as well as different versions for Materials and not, making them incredibly versatile and well worth your Linden! I love to decorate around my little home sim and when I saw these pieces from Shutterfield, I knew they would fit right in with the current decor around the land. Indian Summer

The temps have been quite lovely around Northern Arizona the past week, which of course means the shorts, tanks and mini's are still out and about in full force.
