As you all can tell I have been enjoying the discovery that I can use "advanced lighting" up on my little platform and I can't explain how happy this makes me.  It may have taken literally 4 hours to take 6 pictures, but it's worth it!  At least I hope so!  I know here soon that I won't be taking that much time, because I won't need to see ALL the windlights in "advanced."  I feel a bit like a kid in a candy store!  So many amazing things you can do with just a click of a different windlight.  I have noticed however, that I have to be careful because occasionally things get all jagged again even though I have the filters on to keep that from happening.  I have decided this is my pc's way of letting me know it's a bit tired and that it needs a break, so I listen and wander off for awhile so the hamsters can relax and have a smoke break or whatever.  So any of you out there frustrated with your p.o.s. computers and their failing graphics. then shoot me a note inworld (JadedPanther Resident) or find me on Facebook (Jade Samsara) and I will share with you the tricks I have discovered along the way.  I am by no means a photo expert nor do I take the best pictures, but over the last year and a half I have found ways to utilize what I have to the best of its ability.  I hope you are enjoying your weekend and now I am off to go play around with some windlights and furniture!!

Have a wonderfully wicked rest of your weekend and remember to always stay true to your style and make today's fashion trends work for you!

"Tight rope walker feeling dizzy"

As many of you know I used to do my fair share of roleplaying but since I came over to Second Life I chose to not RP anymore, however, there are days when I want to toss on a costume and not be me for just a little while.  Heydra's newest release immediately put me in a bit of an edgier mood and suddenly the new wave, punk girl in me came streaking out of her hiding place!  In those teen years of finding who I was and what my style was, I might have dabbled in the punk look, including an 11 inch black mohawk so this ensemble today truly took me back to days of experimentation and dancing on the razors edge.  I will leave it up to your imaginations to figure out what that means, just know I had a blast running around the grid to some seedier locations last night and I might just be back again soon!

Needless to say, since music is often my gateway to inspiration, I hit youtube and started surfing through old favorite bands and stumbled across one I hadn't thought about in years.  Every day after cheerleading practice (with my mohawk in a ponytail) I would jump into my car to drive home and the radio would automatically go to the local "alternative" station where my friend Scott worked as a DJ.  At exactly 4:55pm a dedication came across the waves that simply said, "Hey Crash, keep it under light speed!  This goes out to you!"  And by the time I hit the back roads of St. Louis County I was flying to "Crash" by the Primitives.  Of course nostalgia set in a bit deeper and an old tune by the same band started tiptoeing its way through my grey matter and seemed a perfect song to accompany this post!  (So yeah, hit play down there!  Follow me back to the 80's)

I know I have been a bit quiet the last couple of posts but I have been feeling much like a tight rope walker on a razors edge with my life and which way to go.  Transitioning from IMVU a year and a half ago to SL wasn't hard but, the learning curve when it comes to creating is HUGE!  So while I watched tutorials, talked to friends and listened I began to blog.  I have found my voice in that time and no longer feel like your run of the mill fashion blogger, which is exactly what I had hoped for when this all began.  In the back of my mind a dream formed that included me creating on Second Life and taking my hobby to a whole new level and making it a career.  It seemed a far off dream, but now, I stand on that tight rope, dizzy with happiness as I watch that dream become a physical reality.  For that reason you will all notice that I have cut my sponsor list down quite a bit to free up more time for me to create so that in the next few months I will be introducing you to a new creator and it will be ME!  I am incredibly grateful to all of my Sponsors and appreciate the opportunities each and everyone has provided me along the way.  The vast amount of knowledge I have gained from them is something I can never repay, but I hope by me moving forward they know I couldn't have done it without them.  The days as a lost "punk/alternative" kid and all of the lives I have lead that brought me to Second Life were all spent following a dream, with my head in the clouds.  It isn't always a bad place to be, because after all, dreams often do come true!

A Tempting Classic

I am starting to notice as I get older, my choices for gowns tend towards the classic style versus the avante garde of my youth.  I think that is more a sign of maturity for me than a change in my over all style, as the choices still are bold in comparison to others.  The Apply Me event has been up and running for a couple of days now and I just need to gush for a moment.  This is the first round of this event from Solaris and so far the results have been outstanding.  I am literally buried in boxes and the offerings are truly fantastic.  No matter what mesh body you use, or mesh add-ons you are sure to find exactly what you have been needing at Apply Me, including this stunning new gown from Cherished Creations.

The "Temptation" gown is a combination of mesh and prim pieces combined to make this magnificent dress that you can only pick up at Apply Me.  The delicate rose detailing along the straps continues down the back giving a very alluring profile for all those who happen to have their eyes turned your way.  The dress is wonderfully designed and textured making it a hit in my book and you can be assured this dress will find its way to an event or two this Summer.  HSe's Walk the Night With Me, a Gothic Wedding Event is also in full swing on the grid, but will be closing soon which means you don't have a lot of time left to go and pick up this amazing new jewelry set from GlintThe Sacred Heart collection comes in a wide variety of colors to choose from, but I loved the "Raven" with this ensemble and thought it was a perfect match.

If you are looking for a glamorous skin to add to your collection then make sure to check out this gorgeous new skin from Poudre.  The Kamilla collection comes in several makeup color selections in the same tones you have come to love and they are available in all current appliers, which means you will find exactly what you need at the store!  I am going to head out for the evening and enjoy a little dancing in this gown, so have a wonderful night of shopping and I will see you all in the morning!

Have to love these Summer nights

Being a child of the 70's and 80's I, like many of those from my era, have a tiny piece of my heart tied up in the movie "Grease."  My first crush was on Danny Zuko and I dreamed of being Sandy, in both good girl and bad girl forms.  Every word to every song is permanently engraved on my brain and you can bet I watch it at least a couple times of year, especially when down, for it will always bring me up.  I remember strutting around the living room in my Mom's "Candie's" heels and my black, shiny dance pants pretending to be Sandy while trying on my Mom's different wigs.  I had quite an imagination and had dreams of being a rockstar some day, so you can bet I kept my family quite entertained through the years.  But one song stands out for me more than the others, and if you do a search of top Summer songs, "Summer Nights" will always be in the list.  Today when I unpacked some more goodies from Apply Me I got all excited and suddenly that song started skipping it's way through my brain and I must confess, I had to jump onto youtube and listen to the soundtrack.  So off to the beach I went, bebopping my way through pics to show off this adorable new outfit from Zoom.

Hot Summer Nights
The "Baby" top and pants are exclusively available at Apply Me until the 20th and comes with Standard Layers as well as Omega, Slink and TMP appliers.  I love the "bubble" cutout detailing on the pants and the vibrant use of colors, making it a perfect little outfit for your hot Summer nights!

This year marks the 10th year of The Hair Fair, a wonderful charity event to benefit Wigs for Kids.  Every creator have their hairs clearly marked with the percentage donated to charity as well as there are gifts in almost every booth for the anniversary.  I strongly believe in this event and the amazing community we have on Second Life that enables us to all participate and donate to a very worthy cause.  Through out the event you will find kiosks where you can just donate without having to purchase any of the hairs, which I highly encourage if you are just going to jump around and grab the gifts.  My pocketbook is a little empty this month, but every cent counts in an event such as this, so I grabbed 5k in Linden and headed on over.  I walked out with a lighter purse, happy heart and my karma meter reading a bit higher. Do yourself a favor and pay it forward, or just open your heart and give even just a few Linden, or a whole bunch to this fantastic cause!
